I don’t think I see any guides mention it, but the reason the beginning field of light buff has to be “leap frogged” is because if two people have it at the same time, it despawns the dark bubbles you are trying to link. We thought it was psion related at first, or maybe when the tormentor was up but yeah it’s just two people being buffed at the same time.
Two people can have the buff at the same time. The issue is that it will be disrupted if you haven't connected another node since the last time someone grabbed the buff.
Yesterday was the first time I tried a raid. Not knowing how much it entailed. This was the raid I chose. I'm thankful for my teammates and their patience. The amount of times we wiped just because of me not understanding what we gotta do
Your 3rd encounter diagram makes so much sense. I hate every other strat with mirror numbers and going in a weird sequence. Why over complicated it: left to right 1-3 4-6
One thing a lot of people aren’t talking about - the Psions are what spawn the Tormentors. You need to kill them as fast as possible to give yourself enough time to kill the Tormentors. It’s NOT a ‘periodic spawn’ of Tormentors. Also, you can leave a Tormentor alive if the runners are fast enough to clear the debuff, then kill it when the next section starts for a timer extension

im very busy tonight (saturday night) and i have the nezarec checkpoint. had no clue what to do, but thank you so much for making a quick and easily digestible guide so that i can get my emblem early in the morning or over night!
Awesome guide! Thank you! Also, my group figured out an easy strategy for the first encounter: First sequence: do NOT kill psions to spawn the tormentor, if you have two runners alternating the sequence, they should easily be able to finish before the timer reaches zero. If you do this, the psions will DESPAWN during the little pause period between sequence 1 and 2. Sequence 2: this one requires three runners. Runner 1 + 2 will alternate rapidly until the runner 1 hits the 3rd node. Then, runner 2 + 3 will get the buff together at the same time. Runner 2 will go to whichever is the 4th node and runner 3 will go to the final node on the little flower at the end of the sequence. Meanwhile, runner 1 goes to the node that is meant to give the buff for the final node. Once runner 2 has shot their 4th node, then runner 1 shoots the buff giving node, then runner 3 will be able to use the buff he got previously to get the node at the end. The rest of the team will wait to kill psions until the 10 second mark of the debuff. This will spawn the tormentor before the runners finish. Do NOT kill the tormentor. Get him weak and "save" his death for sequence 3. As soon as sequence 3's debuff begins, kill the tormentor. This will extend the time for runners while also giving tormentor team extra time to dmg the tormentor during the "in-between" phase. For the 3rd and 4th sequences, have 2 runners alternating like normal and proceed normally, though if the runners are fast enough, you can "save" the next tormentor for the beginning of the 4th sequence. Similar to what you did going from sequence 2 to sequence 3.
Thank you for explaining this all like I am 5. I haven’t run a raid since the rerelease of Vault of Glass and have been feeling real unprepared for jumping into this…
My team could never get that 3rd plate for damage so we kept wiping, we did exactly what y’all did in the video. Still on this encounter but it pains me deeply that I might miss out on the day “1” clear
for the 1st encounter, you do not actually have to kill the psions if your runners are fast enough, the sweeping terror debuff gets removed for every set of completed roots/orbs. you can also spawn a tormentor and clear the set you are currently on, and then carry that tormentor over to the next set to extend your buff easily without having to kill the psions again. For the 2nd encounter I would highly recommend using an eager edge sword on either warlock or titan and avoiding the gap cross mechanic by using eager skating to cross the gap (except the very last one for next floor)
We were on a break before fighting Nez because we were no where close to top 1k even, so I tuned into your stream Fallout, right when you said Datto told you he used Thunderlord the whole run, and then i set up for using Thunderlord and it ended up being the strat I converted my entire raid team to in order to beat it. Looks pretty simple but fun. Mechanics but not too confusing. Stuff for people to do if they like mechanics but also lets people kill ads if they dont want to do anything or dont feel confident.
I love seeing the optimized strategies for an encounter after completing all the encounters with some over-complicated strat that somehow managed to work 😂
NOTE: Make sure your team is on the same page about what the callouts are for the planets on encounter 3, because the ones shown in the video are weird and your team might have a system that makes more sense.
If you are running short on time, you can use a glaive melee in the circles under the bubbles to trigger the bubbles, instead of shooting the bubbles directly.
I watched another video explaining you can avoid the wipe mechanic during Nezerac by shooting his shoulder pads and seeing which color it glows if its dark you need to grab the light buff and take it to the dark flux thing for the refuge and vice versa for light. So the whole encounter isn't about speed. You can avoid the wipe mechanic through the refuge mechanic
Here is a description of encounter 2 I'll describe for dark side. It'll be the exact opposite for the light side. Step 1 : pick darkness buff Step 2 : go to light side and connect an orb on light side Step 3 : go back to dark side Step 4 : pick darkness buff and connect an orb on dark side Step 5 : Repeat step 1 to 4 until you finish the floor and repeat on every floor This is the loop im mostly sure. If this is wrong forgive me.
The fireteam I had managed to get all of it done without looking anything up besides someone telling us about the nezarec wipe stall, overall proud we did it by ourselves
I usually can't fully grasp raid mechanics through video explanations and need first hand experience to get it, but man oh man this raid is dead simple.

for the 1st encounter, you do not actually have to kill the psions if your runners are fast enough, the sweeping terror debuff gets removed for every set of completed roots/orbs. you can also spawn a tormentor and clear the set you are currently on, and then carry that tormentor over to the next set to extend your buff easily without having to kill the psions again.

Looks pretty simple but fun. Mechanics but not too confusing. Stuff for people to do if they like mechanics but also lets people kill ads if they dont want to do anything or dont feel confident.
Thank you so much for this video, always easy and straight to the point with the explanations, I can't recommend it to enough people
The fact that this is probably the shortest raid guide says a lot.
I love seeing the optimized strategies for an encounter after completing all the encounters with some over-complicated strat that somehow managed to work 😂
Mate, just wanted to say that this is the clearest guide to this raid i have found.
As a raid noob, this was perfect.
Subbed and liked!
NOTE: Make sure your team is on the same page about what the callouts are for the planets on encounter 3, because the ones shown in the video are weird and your team might have a system that makes more sense.
Right, when those numbers came up, wtf.
@@TheCubby1985 It's the VoG number call outs all over again. There's definitely an easier system out there
"Why don't we waste any time"
My brother in Christ you are playing destiny 2
If you are running short on time, you can use a glaive melee in the circles under the bubbles to trigger the bubbles, instead of shooting the bubbles directly.
I watched another video explaining you can avoid the wipe mechanic during Nezerac by shooting his shoulder pads and seeing which color it glows if its dark you need to grab the light buff and take it to the dark flux thing for the refuge and vice versa for light. So the whole encounter isn't about speed. You can avoid the wipe mechanic through the refuge mechanic
15:05 "Y'all need to shoot and start harassing him back." Made me laugh.
Fitting that Nezarec is the boss considering how painful this raid looks to beat lol.
6:10 we did 2 people on dark and 2 on light swapping the same buff and, the other 2 on add control, 1 on each side went threw it super fast
We did similar. 1 that stayed, and 1 that swapped for light and dark.
Good stuff man. We did it where I was the only boss aggro guy and boy was that fun. 🤣
Here is a description of encounter 2
I'll describe for dark side. It'll be the exact opposite for the light side.
Step 1 : pick darkness buff
Step 2 : go to light side and connect an orb on light side
Step 3 : go back to dark side
Step 4 : pick darkness buff and connect an orb on dark side
Step 5 : Repeat step 1 to 4 until you finish the floor and repeat on every floor
This is the loop im mostly sure. If this is wrong forgive me.
The fireteam I had managed to get all of it done without looking anything up besides someone telling us about the nezarec wipe stall, overall proud we did it by ourselves
Did you use lfg??
No surprise that this guide is about half the time of Rick Kackis' guide 🤣
The planet room looks really cool
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to create....
🤙💯
Not a big tip, but I had to show my thanks somehow. You are a real one Fallout!
You and my 4 random LFG groups got me the emblem. GG.
I usually can't fully grasp raid mechanics through video explanations and need first hand experience to get it, but man oh man this raid is dead simple.
Front, Back, and Inside worked as callouts for my team on 3rd encounter, simple and ez no confusion for anybody
Good use of music for this! 👍
this guide was clear and concise fallout, thank you!
A brilliant video, very clear. Thank you very much Fallout.
Fallout you're the 🐐 thankyou for your service. Uploading a guide this fast is insane. Now get some sleep & don't forget to hydrate
This Raid looks awesome...Now I just need another week to get to a high enough level to do it.
His wipe mechanic is called "Overwhelming Light"? The Traveler is really stepping out on us.
Fun fact: in shadowkeep at some point savathun says "you will gain power to move worlds" and we be moving worlds in the planet encounter 🤔
I’m sorry but the nezerac mechanic where he just picked a random person and hates them and chases them is really funny to me
