Tried to get this out quick so folks can get a clear before Weekly Reset. Forgive me if there any editing mistakes - gonna go rest for a hot minute 😅
I can walk you through the deepsight chest if needed. Involves statues similar to the ones in deep dive. 3rd set is a little confusing.
Just a note on the hidden chest at the end of the hallway, you just need to dunk the chalice into the pit before the door closes to get it, you don't need someone to make it through as that doesn't actually do anything.
And also the final statue is a bit of a doozy. It has something to do with facing the Oversoul from the spawn position.

I don't think you mentioned it in the video, but the person that is taking care of oversoul NEEDS to have enlightenment. My group found out the hard way lol
No rest until you find the 3rd chest. chop chop.
For the oversoul, you do need to be enlightened to shoot the oversoul. So make sure you have an extra enlightened user to do the oversoul part.
Does this apply to final stand
@@carteredwards3656 Yes and it will extend your timer. Not sure if you can do multiple times. If so, it still extend timer but with diminishing returns.
For the first encounter, consider getting your team to wear bright glowing shaders in different colors to easily find each other and deliver the chalice

FYI for preservation, you can see if the next lantern is lit or not. If it's not, then you need to preserve. If the next one is lit, you can skip to it.
As always, fantastic raid guide; yours are consistently the best around. I love Datto but your explanations are so much more thorough and easy to understand especially for more complex mechanics like these.

Bungie really said, "This was the only completely solo-able raid in D1 that did not require more than 1 glitch. Let's make it so no solo player can ever beat it again!"
Small correction - 2nd hidden chest seems to come from dunking/preserving the chalice before the door closes, rather than getting someone in there.
I always really appreciate how clearly you explain things, this is the first guide I've watched where the whole order of operations in the more complex encounters didn't sound overwhelming.

PSA for some people who might get stuck in the bridge encounter if at the last minutes the swords don't become available for the final 5 knights (it happened to my team a few times) you can freeze them with stasis and easily slide them to the edge and they will just die, just be careful to not stand in the middle plate again as that can and will wipe your team

Three days in and im finally at crota, had too many players come and go to say how many teams I've had. Finally made it their and everyone left lol ,now I'm taking a break watching this optimal crota guide. Going to get back at it with some more lfg players in a minute and see how it goes. Cheers.

Bridge encounter was literally a brain F to me and my team and this made this so much easier lmao. I really appreciate the straight forward explanation.
Tip for identifying Shriekers in tower rooms: if you can’t tell if a Shrieker is up or down, hop/float so you are level with the ceiling of the room you are checking - where the shrieker would be floating. The triangle in the dot on your radar will completely disappear if you are parallel with a shrieker. If the triangle does not disappear then the shrieker is *not* in that room and it will be a wizard :)

A note about the secret chest between the bridge & Ir Yut. In D2 someone getting through the door doesn’t get you the chest, you have to dunk the chalice in the pedestal before he door fully closes.

The receptacle for the chalice isn't random, like Fallout suggests. When you look ahead and it's pitch black, that's when you're going to need to preserve the chalice w/the receptacle, because what it actually does, is prime the next group of lanterns, making it possible for them to be lit. When there is no receptacle, the next group of lanterns will have some light in them, when there is one, they'll be pitch black.

A strat my team used in ir yut is you have your scout be the first person to get enlightened- they call out the wizards and then they take the last one they find and start DPS. It worked phenomenally for us
Also, we had our wizard locations number 1-7 counterclockwise from 1 being the top platform left of the oversoul. Made callouts very easy.
quick tip for stasis enjoying hunters: the reworked renewal grasps *EAT* this raid up. Especially with wicked implement or verglas. Your duskfields stunlock the barriers and swordbearers, and you generate enough shards from your weapons to basically have 100% grenade uptime
For a number of tries at Abyss/Maze, the preserve spot was every three lanterns.
If they're going to be random, it'd be nice if they were easier to see lol
I guess if you look forward and the lanterns are dimmer than most, then you're near a preservation spot

Tysm for the short and to the point explanation.
A nice tip for the first encounter rather than worrying about the chalice, mostly focus on the (lamp) if it glows u can go and do the mechanic required and that u dont need to worry about looking around for the chalice, IF the next lamp is dim or not glowing then the lamp ur sitting at has a chalice and u need to dump ur light at the chalice.
Not dim, black. The receptacle is basically priming the next lanterns, so the next group of lanterns will be pitch black when you need to deposit the chalice.

You can also use a Sentinel titan with Ursa for the Wizard. Especially nice for the orbs and topping off supers for teammates.

if youre arc titan or arc/solar hunter and void/arc/strand warlock while crota final stand active your super for extra good amount of damage (having amount of well is good but also bad idea), or having titan bubble while DPS can also tank your welllock cus youre damaging him with sword not rocket
Another tip is sentinel sheild (with ursa furosa to extend time) can block ALL damage when its dps

For the chest after the bridge encounter, you don't have to make it in the room, just the door itself before it is fully closed. Just did a run where I touched the door moments before it fully closed, causing it to open back up and letting us get that secret chest. To be safe, try to make it inside the room, but know it seems to be more lenient.

Fallout any idea on if the essence is farmable or not I’m on 3/20 for necro and idk what I should and could do to get more (besides triumphs) and any clue of if it’s farmable

Best video guide for Crota's End I have seen thus far. Everything is covered. Clear and concise presentation. Only critique is the swapping location and how many there are during Crota.
There are 6.
4 of the locations are in a T formation between the chalice spawn and preservation podium. The other 2 overlook the one closest to the preservation podium on the right and left.
If you need to assign callouts for these you could recycle VoG Atheon oracle ones. If you imagine the arena from above the swap locations make two lines of three just like Atheon oracles.

Does it make sense to number everyone in fireteam so they have a static order throughout the raid for passing off the chalice/enlightenment? Similar to how you number people when doing Kali to have a sense of order in who goes in which doors in last wish first encounter?
We did it in order that discord had us. That way we had a place to reference. It changed alittle when we got to last encounter just because of roles needed by each class.
Actually the best guide, some put them up way too quickly after clearing that the quality is poor, thanks fallout!

man ive been waiting years for this to come to d2 i guess its finally time to learn how to do this raid without cheesing with a 3man.
So my group isn't 100% sure on this but if you're a Titan you may want to consider using Crown Splitter instead since it seems like it does way more damage. We're not 100% because the person using it was also running sword to pop Crota's shields so the numbers may be including that but figured it was worth mentioning.
I would love to try a grapple berserker with demolitionist dead messenger at lanterns.
Real question though. How do you farm oversold essence
If you can't see very well in the Stills, turn up your brightness to the max on your video settings and change your monitor settings that will enhance the brightness with your video settings in-game. But proceed with caution. Don't do it excessively where your eyes get hurt so much. Just keep it at a level where you can see without obscuring your view in the Stills.
For the Ir Yut encounter, what if there’s two shriekers above and below in a tower?

I just have one question about Ir Yut. Wouldn't it be easier to leave only 1 wizard alive, instead of 3? That way 5 people are ready to damage and only 1 wizard killer needs to run to the Well. Just wondering not saying your way is wrong
The problem with getting everyone enlightened at the bridge before you go across is if anyone dies when in the starting area when there's 3 people on both sides it's a wipe. It's basically asking people to do the bridge flawless. It's much safer to do the mechanic. It's faster in the long run to do the slow safe way once vs wiping the fast way 2 or 3 times.
