If you like Leonard Rossiter, you should watch The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin - another classic!
Yes she should.. GROT incorporated. "I didn't get where I am today", by not recommending great TV programmes. ha ha ha
17:01 ‘Don’t tell him Pike!’
The three day week was during the miners strike. There were power cuts all over the country to save electricity. Not a lot of people had fridge freezers in those days.
ah I see! That makes a lot of sense. Thanks!
😊😊😊😊 ,A Maoist is/was a follower/ party member of Chinese leader in second half of 20th Century Mao ze Tung ,and his little Red Book/ manifesto ❤❤.
Ahh okay! Thanks :)
@@MeganRuth He founded the People's Republic of China (modern China) in 1949, which he led until his death in 1976. He was a major figure in 20th c world politics. His version of communism is called Maoism, one of the major forms of it, along with Stalinism, Marxism etc.
@@RobertTaylor-gz2fuAnd he starved to death and murdered millions of his own people, don't forget the most important bit.
That Liberal candidate was a young Ian Lavender (Pike from Dads Army) R.I.P
Glad you’re got Rigsby. He shouldn’t be loveable in any way, but Leonard Rossiter was an absolute master. The writer said that every stutter, every nuance wasn’t written, they were invented by Mr. R.
@garycoates4603 Actually, Eric Chappell, the creator and writer once said, that writing for "Rising Damp" was the hardest job he ever had. A half-hour script ended up as around the fifteen to tweny minute mark, due to the speed of Leonard Rossiter's delivery. He was lightning fast, he knew the scripts backwards. Eric Chappell had to extend the scripts with extra dialogue and scenes.
@@TheRedDevil-1968 wow really? That's not surprising at all actually! Rossiter speaks very fast indeed aha
@@MeganRuth True. I wouldn;t have said otherwise. I think it's said on that "Rising Damp Forever" documentary Megan. By the way Megan...I agree with hanging! LOL.
Just a little bit of useless trivia from a guy that has collected and loved such info over the years. Happy to share with you Megan. X
Labour old guy reminds me of Quentin Crisp!!!!
I'm convinced that Vienna is a Trotskyist.
He's too bone idle
The more I watch this episode the more it rings true in real life. I previously thought some kind of intelligence test or quiz would be good for voting. The only problem is the parties are all empty promises and do whatever they (or their backers) want anyway. They're almost all career politicians at this point and hardly any of them have a vision for a better country. We're stuck with a bunch of 100-110 IQ midwits.
Great reaction, I really think this is one of the best episodes!
Idealism never works put in the real world regardless of what side you're on
Whoever is in charge someone, somewhere will suffer at your gain
I prefer to be completely and unconditionally selfish and to get as much out of others as I can 😊
The effette Labour candidate, was played by the great character actor, Michael Ward, who stemmed back to my all time favourite comedy actor, Tony Hancock, back in the 1950 /'60's. Did tons of film and TV in his day. God bless him.
Hi Megan. Fact here for 'ya: If it hasn't been stated before, did you know that Leonard Rossiter ("Rigsby") and Frances De La Tour ("Miss Jones") did NOT get on at all in real life. Allegedly, it was a mutual dislike for each other. They worked brilliantly together, but after the scenes were filmed, one went one way off set, the other, the opposite way. Did NOT socialise at all. There is (or was) a cracking two-part documentary called "Forever Rising Damp." Last time I looked sweetie, it was on YT.
yes I think I did hear that actually! You would never know that watching the show. I'll have to watch the documentary! Thanks for the recommendation :)
10:45 You think its all those bloodsports he follows then my team Leeds United mentioned by Rigsby why I love this episode lol 😆
FACT. The vote of an English person is between you (the voter) and the ballot box...no one else. Not even family. Hence, why the "curtain" / privacy at the voting booth.
Hello Megan - I'm new to your channel and I just want to say - your video was very funny 😂, and your reactions was Evan funnyier 😂, so I'll be subscribing 😊
Enjoyable reaction video Megan, keep them coming! BTW did you get around to Blackadder's Xmas Carol ? Think I missed it ! Anyway, welcome back 👍
Thank you! No I didn't! Perhaps saving it for next year 😉
A Maoist is a follower of the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong, at this time known in the English speaking world as Mao Tse Tung. One of his many fun crimes was the Cultural Revolution, which led to the persecution of academics and professionals and encouraged children to report their parents. Which they did.
CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Chairman Mao Zedong, for which the ideology is named.
In the 1970's when this series was made. Maoism was the political and military ideology of the Chinese Communist Party and Maoist revolutionary movements worldwide.
And YES, sadly I'm old enough to remember these times.. ha ha ha
When will everyone realise that I'm the world's rightful ruler? 😁
great stuff! get well soon
I bet Angela raynor has watched this episode
Sooo Good ..... Thank You for sharing.... and Happy New Year to You and Yours
Thanks for watching! Happy New Year 😊
You guys answered the question before me . One thing was nice to hear good old Ici 20 happy years spent working there
FRANCES LA TOUR IS GREAT IN "VICIOUS" WITH SIRS IAM McKELLEN AND DEREK JACOBI AS OLD GAY COUPLE. LA TOUR IS THEIR BEST FRIEND.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
If a four-day week were introduced in Scotland, it would be subsidised by English taxpayers, as usual.
Frances La Tour is in "GOBLET OF FIRE" HARY POTTER FILM. SHE'S THE GIANY WOMAN AND HER GIRLS.❤
once you are 18 years of age you are old enough to vote , you are a adult to make your own choices in life , no one does not need a test , why so as to make sure everyone votes for labour or a tory that is totally wrong it is like having a gun on your temple
what ever the party is going to promise the voter is what you going to vote for ,.
Try the love wood episode of rising damp!! Classic early 70s UK comedy!!
I don't know a great deal about politics so this episode is not one of my favourites personally, it still has some funny moments though! Great reaction, keep them coming!🙂🙂🙂
Fact..the guy with the long hair was Kate Beckinsales dad.
YOU MIGHT LIKE "BLACKS BOOKS" WITH DYLAN MORAN, BILL BAILEY...HILARIOUS😀😀😅😄😃😂
