That Throttle House video made me angry because I have the i8 Roadster. But it was funny.
I don't care if I have to do a cartwheel to get in, I want it. I'll know today if the bank is going to finance the amount needed to get one. 2019 dark gray Roadster with just 14k miles.
UPDATE: Glory to the Most High God... after two weeks of back and forth, the bank approved my loan. I've been driving my dream Roadster since mid-October 2022. It felt like it was now or never!

@@iiplaya Yes! It's a very simple technique. Butt-first getting in. Feet first coming out. Any fool can do it.

@@fentfriedrice Exclusivity is one reason. There are only 3800 Roadsters ever made. It has exotic looks. I love the butterfly doors. It gets great gas mileage. And it's a comfortable daily driver.
@@SabbathDay that's fair, exclusivity is definitely why I grabbed an m235i over like a 435 or 335, only asked because I've only heard people who can't afford it say negative things about it lol, hope it's a good time brother I wish I had a fun car with good mpg at the same time fosure 🤝

Youre not supposed to put legs in first. BMW tech here and can confirm it's easy to get in with proper procedure. You sit on the side and slide butt in first. Legs kind of fall with it. There's videos explaining that too
Exactly right. I own one and entry/exit is a non-issue.

@josemhs to be fair even a Honda civic has proper procedure. Diving through the window headfirst would be an example of improper procedure. The I8 actually has comfortable entry it's just different than the more standardized technique we're used to

I checked one of them at a dealership. The salesman said you need to lower and pull yourself out like the cockpit of a fighter jet. Clearly he thought it was a cool thing to say. In my opinion I want to be able to get in and out of the car easily. For the high price of the car I shouldn't have to struggle to get in and out of it.
The design team chose form over factor.
I know i already commented on this video but i wanna say that I've seen people get in this car and out of it without any problems what so ever.
I don't want nothing to do with this motor after watching this. This will kill my back . Thank you for putting reality check in place .

You can slide your butt in first and swing your legs in. Or swing your legs out and slide forward out to get out.
Either way, I'm short and have no issues with it, I can get into an Elise easily as well.

Sit down in the seat with your feet still on the ground, then swing your legs into it, ur making it harder then it needs to be 😂 lol
I knew no one at BMW drove their own cars
It's actually pretty easy to get into you just don't get into it like a normal car. You turn around and face away from it and sit down first. Then you swing your legs in and you're all set. No bumping of anything.
The real trick comes with getting in and out while the roof is up. I found two "easy-ish" ways.

As a former Toyota service porter getting in the new GR 86 the small window next to the mirror has a sharp edge like if your not carful it can stab your eye.. not even kidding. I’m 5”11 so I don’t know if that’s the reasoning 🤷🏻♂️

As an owner theres a simple common sense way to get in jeesh..turn back to door bend knees fall back into seat and pivet your butt and leggs clockwise boom youre in its easy..an 80 year old can get in it no problem.

NONSENSE. In manual sport mode, it's a beast. But then I can get 50 mpg when choosing to be economical. I have the best of both worlds. And the exclusivity of the best looking BMW on the road!
