Thank you. A teacher once said purnamidam purnamidat etc means " may I drop from the vine like a ripe cucumber" - pretty good for on the minute invention. I found this translation Wholeness is complete. The world is born out of wholeness and thus is also complete. Even if we remove everything from what is complete, it will remain complete. Om, peace, peace, peace. Something like: Matter can neither be destroyed nor created. I love the philosophical roots of yoga. Western physics says the same things, though the spiritual aspect isn't always recognized. "god" is exteriorized, reified, made something separate. Now it is time for me to shut up and experience the wisdom that is in the asana. Thanks again.

Because of an operation in my neck, I have been practising underarmstand instead for the last few years, but as I have built strenght, I have today tried headstand and it worked! It prepares the lungs to breathe better by first expelling all stale air, carbon dioxide, sitting at the bottom of the lungs. The Pranayama practice of Anuloma Viloma, after this cleansing practice, results in improved and deeper breathing, more clean as well. Kapalabhati also helps in clearing the mind, which is very useful for having a meditative and focused practice of Anuloma Viloma. Hope this answers your question. Keep practicing! Om Shanti
Thank you so much for this practice, which I am doing for the first time after a back injury I incurred over 4 months ago while walking my two 50-lb poodles! And yes, added family stress from the unexpected death of my sister. This injury has been very humbling and has given me a deep appreciation for the effort of students with limitations. We must be patient with ourselves and allow our body to heal at its own pace. I was trying to do too much with the regular practice and have been skipping a daily routine. Now I know why! Thank you for practicing. If you practice regularly, yes it will help you to tone the muscles and lose weight as well. You will have to also manage your diet along with the yoga practice for the desired result. Om Shanti
