Interesting vlog John from a underated venue. The sole are cĺoser to the bridge as you know. In your opinion all the years you have fished here when do you reckon most bites occur and what size tide. @@goolie8100 Hello 👋buddy thank you so much for watching and your very kind comment. Regarding the best time I personally think the tide coming up is best for this area especiall for flounders. hello tina and john , really good to see you both out fishing and catching. hessle foreshore is a nice place to fish, spent a lot of time there when I was a youngster, on the foreshore and little switzerland. early summer fishing , if it was a bit slow, over to little swiz to gather wild strawberries or even newts and frogs. on them long summer days cycle up to broomfleet canal spend the day catching rudd and roach . there used to be some big barbel in there. thinking back I'm sure the flounders were a lot bigger 2 to 3lbs most of the eels were the same, lots of boot laces in the spring. watching you at your venues really takes me back, and I'm grateful to you for that.take care you two, regards patrick chapman. say hello to thomas please.

Hi john, interesting film. One thing you are wrong about. Paying extra line out will enable more of it (the line) to follow the course of least resistance (along the bottom) and reduces the pressure on the lead. It won't move the lead, it does the opposite. The reason this works for you is probably due to the weight being harder (for the fish) to move an thereby causing the hook to penetrate better. Its basic river fishing principle. I can often hold the bottom on the trent with less than 1oz while others who don't pay a big bow out, often need 4-6oz to hold in the same spot.
