Big cod would be very welcome, got myself a pair of zziplex quattra sports so I'm hoping to get a bit more distance this year , but not always needed .

Hello Steven 👋 I've not fished this venue a lot over the years but you are right when it on its great again the weed can be a big problem fishing down this end of the coastline. I've had to change from my normal fishing now it's getting hard for me to be climbing up and down those big cliffs on the Holderness. The River Humber is fishing well at the moment from Spurn Point to Makro on the north side and also on the south bank. Over the years of fishing the Holderness Coast we've had some belting cod season one comes to mind in 1997- 98 I was catching from anything from 10 to 15 codling a session it was mad lots of fish from 1.5lb to 2.5lb that year I managed record my biggest total of codling for the season September to May over 160 codling but never seen this happen again to this day. Also seen some big Cod turn on the Holderness Coast from 10lb to 20lb but again very rare mind you a 15lb Cod was caught by one of my good friends of the beach at Holmpton 🤞in December 🤞hopefully we can get one of those piggy's. To right get the thermals on I've had mine on for a few days now as I work out side the cold snap should help with the fishing. I remember my dad taking me and my brother to Spurn Point a few years back in -7 but the windchill factor was -12 you couldn't windchill in ice was in the rings I caught a Cod about 5lb it was frozen instantly bloody cold. Wow buddy that's a name from the past Dave Docwra what a great bloke I went down to see him about a Dawia Amorphous Whisker Tournament Rod he let me take it on the beach to have some cast I never bought one I cant remember but I think it was my Zziplex 2500. That's a way to Christian a rod with a fish of that size well done buddy 👏 I love my Gs Special Match sadly after all them year casting and fishing the tip broke off lost about 4" I couldn't ever get a new one as it was discontinued but I've rewhiped it and put very light stainless fixed spool rings on it and still us it. @@tomjenkinson8958 hello Tom 👋 Wow that's a golden oldie I've had some Zziplex rod over the years hear are some of my zippys 2500 absolutely love this rod hit my first 190 yrds with the aluminium butt. NG1that was very stiff from the middle rod but infact I broke this rod grabbing off my rod rack. I had a Dream Machine and had Qautra Sports then bought for me the best rod ever the Gs Special Match absolutely love it and still have to day. Then my very powerful Tz500 did like this rod until it's started to get a little softer but love it especially when there's some sea on. Regarding the brakes buddy I would do but I don't cast as good theses days and one of my 525 mags is absolutely fast reel also you probably can't see it but I push the mags off during the casts.
