      To fish the Chesil today I'd need a quad bike to get to the favoured hotpots of years ago, dragon's teeth etc. So travel light with gear, food and drink and fish for the unexpected.

      Lest we forget, especially us over 50's, if the shingle is too much energy sapping, there's always Portland bill lighthouse and the cafe and do battle with some big wrasse etc. This is Easy Street, tight lines.

      Hi Stephen it was a truly lovely evening for sure!! It’s mainly luck what you get there but chances greatly improved by using a universal bait(rag) and smallish hooks as I alluded to. A very nice session. Good to see you using the kam b940s hooks. I'm trying another style of hook at the moment. Cox and Rawle scatching match hook. Thanks to Mike of Quality Time Fishing. A nice light hook with great strength and lip hooking abilities. I've had blonde's to 15lb and smoothies to 17lb on them on my boat. Great video Ian. Strange thing about the bream in and around Weymouth Bay is that they have over wintered. They've been caught right the way through the winter.

      Lovely to hear from you so glad you enjoyed the video. You would love it ! Definitely fish rag on small hooks and concentrate on dusk and darkness. The best fishing is definitely September and October which is when I would suggest you go. All the summer species are there plus codling too. If mobility is an issue then West Bexington has a car park on the beach easy access.., it’s a mile or so west of Abbotsbury. • @ianclarkfishing
      @ianclarkfishing  Рік тому +1

      Hi Byron lovely to hear from you! That’s a long drive! You can fish Chesil any state of the tide just set up above the high tide mark. Pick bigger springs to fish as tidal movement is vital for good fishing. Concentrate on evening and night fishing it’s a struggle in bright sun in daylight. Any wind ok but obviously very strong S or W winds make if difficult. Stick to rag tipped with squid on pulley pennel rigs hooks about size 2 or 1 as a main point of attack. Good luck thanks for watching cheers ian
