Some people might think that this is just "another" English teaching channel. This is one of the greatest channels I've discovered on UA-cam that addresses many nuances that you never find anywhere else.

Thank you for your time and invaluable lessons. I’ve lived in America for over thirty years now, and even though I speak, understand, read, and write English, I have been reading learning subtle nuances of the language I never thought before.
I am now becoming more conscious of my grammar and pronunciation when communicating with others, either in writing or verbally.

Thanks Lisa, Your way of teaching is very different from other UA-camRS. I carefully observed that your spoken words and speaking speed are super suitable for learners. This may be one of your specialties. I believe when teaching, the choice of English words must be be different from the everyday use of native speakers. You did a great job, thank you again.

The quote "Rainy days and Mondays always get me down" come from a band composed by siblings singers from the seventies, The Carpenters. This band recorded dozens of great songs, ideal from listening practice due to its particular pace and rhythm. By the way, I also know a romantic song with to get, that was obviously not mentioned here, to get it on, a song from Marvin Gaye "Let's get it on" which actually has a very romantic meaning.

The phrase "let something get to someone" means to allow something to affect or upset someone emotionally or mentally. It is often used to describe a situation where someone is affected negatively by a comment, action, or event.
Here are some examples of how to use the phrase "let something get to someone" in a sentence:
I know she said something rude, but don't let it get to you.
He's been letting the stress of work get to him lately, and it's affecting his mood.
I don't want to let this setback get to me; I need to stay focused on my goals.
The negative comments from the critics really got to the artist, and she considered giving up her work.
She's usually very strong-willed, but this news really got to her, and she was visibly upset.
In each of these examples, the phrase "let something get to someone" is used to describe the emotional impact that a situation or event can have on an individual, and the need to avoid allowing it to affect them negatively.
