From what I gathered, much like how Savathun, Oryx, and Sivu Arath all have a worm, it would appear that Sloan has a worm as well, given that they signed a quasi-contract.
The way Ahsa just wants "to be known", is a really interesting mirror/parallel to how the Worm Gods require tribute. It's almost like the worms' ability to thrive/live/exist relies on being acknowledged in some way, and making bonds is a key part of this. Ahsa makes a bond with Sloane, much like the Hive and their Worms have a bond, and via tribute this bond extends to the Worm Gods. The bond of the proto-worms seems like it is made with love, possibly more symbiotic, but in their transformation to Worm Gods this was twisted to become a vicious bond, more parasitic. Then there's Ahsa diving into an "ascendant dream" and taking Sloane along for the ride, which might be linked to the ability to Take, as that involves ripping an individual from the material universe and plunging them into the Ascendant Realm. The Worm Gods are like a dark and violent mirror of the (potentially benevolent) proto-worms.
Thank you for your videos, Byf. With the constant barrage of negative comments and endless complaining about Destiny hitting me in the face every time I open any social media app, it’s nice to have your wonderful videos help to remind me why I love the game and it’s lore.

The Destiny community is mostly made up of people who have the attention span of a goldfish and get angry no matter what bungie does, so expecting them to be positive or intelligent is an exercise in futility. There are some damn good parts of the community though.
I guess that “leviathan” we saw was Ahsa this entire time. That’s a great way to unfold a mystery people were wondering about since the release of destiny 2.,
Does anyone else see the similar plotline from that episode of Stargate Atlantis where the whales were causing brain aneurysms trying to warn the humans about a solar flare and the psychic whale story mentioned here?
1:41 the fact that all of these time fluctuations have to do with Ahsa can not be mere coincidence. It is statistically improbable. Ahsa may have been the one to cause them because she wanted to.
Interesting how Ahsa's powers and origins actually reveals more about the nature of the Worm Gods too. Even as corrupted Fundamental Leviathans, they still had their psychic powers, ability to form paracasual bonds with other creatures, and instrinsic access to the Ascendant Realm. So it's no wonder why The Witness desired them as assets and used them in the creation of The Hive. It also sheds Light on why powerful Hive Gods could make their own Throne Worlds or Oryx made his Dreadnought with pieces of Akka. Nokris also learned Necromancy from Xol, so that must also be a power of Darkness as well. Maybe one he only shared with Oryx's estranged son?
So, are the Hive worms paracasual beings & just as ancient as the Traveler/Winnower? Or were they simply a creation of Rulk & The Witness? But then again, how does Hive magic even work? Is SoulFire a darkness element? This shite is confusing lads.
@@Mrs.Garrison69 Destiny is no stranger to genuinr retcons (I can name a few off the top of my head), but I do agree folks are going way to far in making calls in what is a retcon and what might've been a planned twist or elaborating on a character's incomplete understanding of something. I understand a lot of it stems from Lightfall's major story fumbles, but I don't think everything now is a retcon. I mean no offense to Myelin, but I think his analysis of what constituted a retcon was rather shallow. Perspective in this case means that characters are working with a limited amount of information and trying to reasonably/interpret fill in the gaps. That doesn’t mean they are 100% incorrect or vice versa. It means take them with a grain of salt and with the context they are in.
@@KermitOfWar Well the answer to your question isn't that simple. The Worm Gods and worm larvae born from them were fashioned from the Witnesses corruption of some of the proto-worm/Fundamental Leviathan. Whom the survivors of civil war were subjugated and retrieved by Rhulk at the command of The Witness in order to create The Hive. The Fundamental Leviathans/proto-Worms origin is still a mystery. They are extraordinarily ancient and inherently paracausal though.
I really hope Sloane doesn't get x'ed off like Amanda in a few seasons, I feel like she has had some really great character development- which has been one of the better parts of this season. Seeing her get fleshed out into a complex character with deep regrets alongside (literal and metaphorical) scars from her time on Titan, before/ after its re-emergence is something that could be leveraged especially closer to final shape and our guardian inevitably following The Witness.
It’s also going to be interesting seeing how she adjusts, and interacts, with the factions of the Coalition. She’s a veteran. A Guardian that had the same outlook as many other lights years ago: the light and darkness being binary, humanity being the only ones that could/should fight against the Witness alone, a contempt for Fallen, and Cabal. She no doubt will have much time to accept House Light, Caital’s Ascendency, and other revelations, and will need time to do so. Saladin, Saint, Osiris, Nimbus, and a few others, more or less act as mediators between their respective factions, handling negotiations between respective alliances within the Coalition. Hopefully, Sloan will come to understand and accept each facet of the Coalition. If an old, stubborn, battle-hardened wolf like Saladin can accept new allies and burry old grudges, so can she.
I wish they would make this back story more of a focus, it’s great that she is back and everything, but like a recount of her experience, in depth. I would pay for that as extra content

It’s pretty scary to imagine what Sloan had endured on a Titan overrun with darkness, Taken, Hive, and Warthborn. In a strange way, Sloan’s situation of survival on Titan before it had returned to Sol, reminds me of the final mission of Halo Reach, where Noble 6’s only objective, is to survive. While a Guardian has more power, endurance, and longevity than a Spartan, no warrior can outlast an onslaught of seemingly endless enemies alone.

The witness lacks wisdom to understand this and through its own selfish and naïve reasoning believes “nothing” will save us all.
