- So before I officially started my YT channel, I filmed a review but I was too shy to post it anywhere. Now that the hard part is over and I've actually started this channel, thanks to #robes08 - I decided waste not, want not! So, here it is.

I just scored a bottle of this for cheap online, and I am blown away. It lasts all day on me with a sillage that lasts several hours after my nose has gotten used to it. At first I felt like it was too mature and heavy for me (I’m in my 30s), but it really grew on me and I fell in love after the 3rd wear. It’s so elegant and rich, I feel like a proper lady wearing it, it’s also warm, passionate and uplifting at the same time. I thankfully am not getting screechy tuberose, that is a very difficult note on me (oh how I despise bubblegum tuberose!), but it’s so well-blended here with all the other floral notes and the composition has this nectar-y sweetness that is just so feminine and beautiful. Do you think your bottle might be a fake? It’s so strange that it only lasts 2 hours on you.
Hi there! Thanks for your wonderful comment :) I think my bottle is legitimate but i think it’s so strong in the opening I kind of become a bit anosmic to it. Especially a couple of years ago when I was in the habit of “over spraying”
The composition features intoxicating Himalayan blue poppy, white and yellow flowers (mimosa, rose, freesia...) and vanilla flower. Poeme is a poem in the world of perfumes; the contrasts of bitter and sweet create a special sensual aura.

Poême is stunning!!! I love it!!! I remember the launch too and I wore in the 2006/2007. I want to buy it again because it’s a classic from Lancôme and I love Tuberose. 🥰😍
My 21y old daughter bought it a few weeks ago and I can smell her all day! It is beautiful so I bought it online for myself after repeatedly stealing from her🤭

This is my signature scent.🥰 Nothing like this on the market. It lasts all day on me. I can even smell it the next day. I love it so much! A real head turner too ❤

I smelt this for the first time and this fragrance is unique. For me, it smells vintage but also modern. I imagine someone 40+ wearing this (4 more years for me 😅). This is an elegant scent. Tempted to buy a bottle. Thank you for the review.

Still have a vintage mini and love going back to it every spring. The flood of emotions that overtake me every time I smell it... Peach was so big back then. Romantic is definitely the work I'd use to describe it. A great review!

My mum used to wear it, I repurchased it for her.....It's a bold, florar bomb, among them tuberose, which is my personal enemy :D the longevity and strength are BOLD! I really enjoyed your review !

My whole time favorite orange blossom fragrance ! Such a nostalgic perfume BUT they have weakened the new formula ! I'm very fortunate to have a 90's bottle that i cherish so much
I loved this way back then, my then Boyfriend’s sister gave me a massive bottle if it, she worked in a pharmacy. It is opulence in a bottle!

It really is. I nearly decluttered my bottle recently but then I couldn’t bear to part with it.
I'm a 90's child too, we're the same age probably ! :) Perfumes were amazing back then ! Dune, Noa... oriental but unique . Nowadays everything is the same vanilla based scent.

@@TheTopNote I was born after the 90s but also like these vintage fragrances. The newly release ones seem all to be the same ones. of course there are also a couple of these new once which I like, but the older ones mostly are real masterpieces. In many of these masterpieces were unfortunately reformulated...
Just smelled it today from an office worker. Amazing. I immediately know this is my next perfume
haha that's wonderful! Love discovering new fragrances. I was going to wear this again the other night but I got distracted. I should definitely revisit, would be interesting to see if I can discern the notes more clearly now that I have been "actively sniffing" for about a year now. Thanks for watching! :)

I was intrigued so popped into my pharmacy and got a sample....oh my days...I could smell it on my clothes,myself even after a bath and the next morning this nectar is a Bomb....I didn't like it at first but 24hrs later I went back and bought it,not sure if I love it or not but I am obsessed now either way...
Haha I love those confusingly addictive ones! Keen to know how you go with it after a month or so!

I love this perfume too, there is nothing else like it. To make this last try misting it in your hair. I could smell the aroma of cloves wafting off my hair during my yoga class in the heated studio 12 hours after I applied it in the morning. I actually thought my teacher was burning cloves.

I’ve got this on this evening, it’s beautiful, for me it’s a rich creamy floral with a resinous spicy depth that is just right, it has an ever so slight masculinity but ever so minutely.
It is quite strong for the first 1-2 hours then it sits closer to the skin as you said, but I like that.
I find myself sniffing my wrist for the pleasure of it, like it’s just for me.
I also get a make up/putty like note which is strange but in a good way.
I’m so happy I have this in my collection, thanks Mum, it would take a confidant guy to wear this but very doable.
It’s very sexy too.

TheTopNote I know I’m guilty of this as well, wanting a fragrance to last for 10 plus hours, that’s ok if I’m out for the day or at work but some fragrances are for a warm and cosy evening, it’s nice that it settled down as it’s so powerful in the beginning, i would tire of it if it were to perform so loudly over a long period. I’ve got quite a few that do that which are perfect for all day wear, I enjoy a shower/bath in the evening then a spritz of something that I know is going to be well settled down by the time I’m ready for bed, Enjoy your spritz tonight. After 16 hours I can still smell it on my wrist, now It reminds me slightly of white musk from the body shop. Thanks for your review.
Typical 90’s ?!? What do you mean?! This is the best perfume ever, I have never smelled anything like it, it is typical UNIC!

This perfume is beautiful. I own 2 bottles.
I just watched this and realised it is discontinued. 😩I absolutely love Poem. My sis in law bought it for me as a gift over 10 years ago and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I hopped online and found a 100ml for $200. I snapped that before they’re all gone. Definitely more than I would like to spend on this but I will use it slowly (in spring mostly) so hopefully it will last for many years to come

I fell in love with Poeme when I was 19!!! I still love it now that I’m 41. I never considered it to be an old lady perfume however, I consider it to be for classy and mature women. It is a staple in my collection 💜
I'm planning to purchase this perfume since this used to be my moms signature fragrance. I'm 20 and I love it!
My husband bought this for me back when it first came out. We went to the mall and I was looking for a perfume so we went in one of the department stores I think it was Dillards or JC Penny. And I at the fragrance counter I smelled this gorgeous scent! It was Lancôme Poeme so that was definitely the one I wanted without smelling any others. Jess by Jessica McClintock was my favorite perfume until Poeme 🙂❤️ I still love it and buy it online now

I had Arome Arthes Jeanne Arthes(a total dupe of Poeme) i in 1996 when I was 20, young and beautiful. I got it as a pesent on my birthday. I didn't have any idea of Poeme by Lancome on that time. Every time I wore it I felt so beautiful and uplifting. Now I am in my late 45 and I have just ordered my first bottle of Poeme. I am so excited to sniff it and return back when I was young. I was also pushed by the news it had been discontinued . I must have a bottle for my collection.
Oh I didn’t even know it had been discontinued! That’s a little upsetting if I’m honest. I feel like it’s a perfume icon. Enjoy it our new bottle! X

I bought Poeme in 1996.😊 I was 16.than and it was my signature. I would like to have it now again❤
My aunt bought it on its launch in summer 1995. Then my fiancè gifted this on our engagement and it became my favourite, I worn it on my wedding in 1997. Its a shame that its been discontinued now.😭

Agree, it’s the only Lancome that has survived in my wardrobe over the years!
I recently brought a bottle from Myer that must be a new reformulation. Longevity is unfortunately very poor. The scent is mainly just fruits throughout, I can’t detect any cloves or musk or vanilla, and very little flowers. I get the feeling I would have loved the original formula.
This makes me very sad, it was such a beauty.
I own a 50ml bottle of poeme and I love it .. On me it lasts for 6 hours ..

Poeme was not sweet when it was first launched, it was rather bitter up to 2012 and it lasted forever! I finally bought it in 2015 and it was sooo different -sweet! Yet another masterpiece that has succumbed to the trend of syrupy fragrances after the huge success of La Vie Est Belle. It is still a very nice perfume, no doubt, but for someone who has known the original I think it has lost its character.
This perfume is beautiful 😻 it never loses it scent same smell can’t believe it it last all day till next day diffently love ❤️ this 1995 perfume I would of been in my teens has well when it came out well smells exactly the same very shocking 🤔I think it’s to strong and does last all day till u wake up 😉

I used to wear it in 90s and I thought it was a bit too mature for me at that time when I was in my 20s... My fave were Sun Moon and stars and 1881 which you can't really compare to the original perfumes. I wonder it someone makes the original ones these days. I saw on Fragrantica that there is a company which replicates those real perfumes... If you know that house please let us know, Cherrie. From Russia with love from Lana banana. ;)
Hi Lana! I have heard of that company and unfortunately they have been duping small indie houses too, not just discontinued ones. Its a shame. Im sure thre are others out there, but one day I will take the remnants of all of my discontinued loves to Dubai and see if I can have them remade!

Floral? To me it alwyas smelled like a mother and home where sje just baked cookies or cake 😂but also safety, elgance. Very feminine and nostalgic❤

I just bought a new bottle of POEME EDP this week....so true, unfortunately it loses its longevity and the gorgeous floral character... quite disappointing really...i hate the dominant fruity scent over the beautiful oriental floral scent
Can you please tell me where did you get 100ml at Aus$60 coz I recently got it from Lancome Australia website n it was like A$242 which is quite expensive..
I bought this bottle years ago from a local pharmacy - I want to say it was a Terry White, they often had quite good discounts on perfumes. The prices do seem to have jumped quite a bit on this one.
Is it suitable for someone in their early twenties?
Well I wore it in my 20s, so I would say yes. Haha it’s got a very 90s feel to it though so it might not be to everyone’s taste these days. It’s very white floral dominant.

Ooh no I don’t think they are that similar from memory. I don’t own La Femme but I have smelled it some time ago and my recollection was that it seemed…more polished and maybe white musky than Poeme? They are both gorgeous though and I have almost bought la femme many times but never quite pulled the trigger. Poeme is more luscious tropical yellow florals which to me feels more like a summer holiday scent, whereas La Femme i recall thinking it would be a great work/office scent, elegant and professional smelling. (They both work for the office but I feel Poeme has a more relaxed and perhaps sensual feel) Hope that helps!
You have prompted me to see if I can get my hands on a sample of la femme to refresh my memory now, haha.
I have prada la femme leau,nd smelled poeme yesterday,I wanted to buy it,after reading reviews,but some people said poeme was similar to la femme,nd when I smelled it in shop,I felt they were quite same,so ended up not buy it because they were very similar, however I believe poeme lasts longer than la femme
