Ethan winters face has been leak in Yt for a while, but I'm HOPEING markplayer (forgot his name) would play this DLC so that it could be popular some point.
Ethan died once. He got back up and massacred an entire household to save his wife.
Ethan died again. He got up and killed his daughter's kidnapper, but not before committing mass genocide on an entire village just to save his wife and daughter.
Ethan finally dies for real, until his daughter got into some mold trouble, and it was up to him to keep the PTSD away from his daughter.
Man literally too determined, death couldn't keep him still. He may be a zombie, a walking corpse, a vegetable, or a collective spore hive mind impersonating a man named Ethan Winters, but he was determined and dedicated for his family.
Dude cared more for his family than vin diesel could ever talk about.

Dad strength.
Ethan is the definition of too angry to die. He had partial immortality essentially through 7 and 8 and even 16 years after finally losing his physical body in 8, he is still fucking people up in the realm of conciousness. Since he essentially became part of the mold, his conciousness quite literally lives on through the mold, through rose, and mia, and wherever else the substance is. Ethan will be around as long as the mold substance is essentially, he is one of the best examples of a benevolent bioweapon now, him and his family.

The problem about games with good narrative is that it introduce you a character that you grow fond of. Then when the character is so close to your heart. The game developer just rips them out as you watch the character die. This is Ethan, a father who wants to save his daughter. You will go through what he went through, fighting monsters and zombies. He saves his daughter in the end. Do you feel close to him? Good! Now let me kill him off in front of you.

He's the only RE protagonist with real growth. He goes from scared and out of his element at the beginning of 7 to confident by the end, and that carries over tenfold in 8 where we see himself constantly put himself into danger for the sake of his infant daughter. It's hard not to like someone who does his best for others.

It wasn’t him coming back to life it was more of a manifestation of his soul with in that realm
The whole "Ethan coming back to life" thing has to do with the fact that at the end of the game, while Rose is being driven away from Ethan's grave, someone is walking towards the car out of the sunset. People dived deep and it turns out it was Ethan's model. Many people thought it was simply a placeholder model. But there was a Theory that Ethan came back to life. This DLC gives credence to that idea.

Ethan became the walking meme for how Video game characters seem to be able to get shot, stabbed, maimed and dismembered and simply walk it off by pouring some questionable liquid on their arm or by putting a bandage over it. They took that running joke and made arguably the best character in the Resident Evil Franchise. I hope if they ever reboot/remaster this series of games that Ethan/Rose/Mia somehow get a happy ending.

Ethan in NPC form is a good reference to the REmake. He runs around with a shotgun, blasting away like Richard when Jill was fighting Yawn. I think he even has the same run animation as Barry/Chris/Rebecca in REmake. A good bit of classic co-op partner game play in a new-age game.

Iirc, Wesker only got increased speed and strength. Physical properties. Even Saddler's mind control in RE4 was explained by unique sound frequencies the parasites could hear. The closest thing to this mind powers and dream realms BS we have now was Alexia sort of controlling fire in one boss fight. And the most important thing was they were not on your side. Seeing what RE used to be, and how Silent Hill it looks now, I absolutely draw the line at a protagonist with special mind powers. Capcom are free to do what they want, but not everyone has to like the direction they're headed.

Its amazing how RE8 is about the prisms of love, the sickened twisted love of Miranda for her daughter, the powerful, instinctive fatherhood love of Ethan, the profound love and connection of Rose... In the end the entirety of the plot was about love.
I know they didn't show his face but at least in this we saw a little bit of it, way more than we did in RE7 and Village

I just finished the DLC and oh my god, what an epic ending. It was so rewarding to see Ethan get to meet his daughter and say a real goodbye. Playing his character in re7 and 8 to now getting the chance to fight alongside him is not what I expected, but exactly what I needed. Just amazing. I will forever be sad that we won't get to play as him anymore, but at least Capcom gave us such a beautiful ending

Ethan is no longer a blank model for the player to insert themself in, he have (not has, as long as the Megamycete hivemind continue to exist his conciousness will alway live on within it) become a legendary character himself just like the likes of Adrian, Ramirez and Freeman to name a few.
This dlc has kinda just confirmed that RE9 will take place before this expansion as this is years later, so I'm guessing RE9 will be set right after the events of when they found the BOW in the BSAA uniform, gonna be interesting seeing where the storyline goes and who will be the next protagonist. Will Jill return? I hope so.
RE9 has actually been confirmed to not deal with the winter's family at all, this is the last of them for now, it may follow Chris or a totally new cast and storyline
