I do love how they made her look and act more like an actual college girl rather then a girl from highschool
She still has highschool tendencies with certain uses of words "skillz, k, no prob" there was some others but I can't remember all of them. She talks like the younger crowds, nothing wrong with it since she is part of that crowd, but it definitely makes the gap appear even larger between leon and Ashley for maturity for sure.

@@autumn2ashes211 if that is true, then it suits, but doesn't stop her from appearing young still. Just means college students in their first few years are still on a highschool kind of mentality. Nothing wrong with that of course, but it definitely makes her appear more like a little sister hanging around and making jokes with a 7 year older brother. My sister and I are 7 years apart, we are similar as them. The only weird part is how she has such a strong crush and he treats her as a sister. Makes it feel weird some of the interactions, if he didn't treat her so young but had no interest than that would be fine, or if she saw him in an older brother kind of light. But sadly neither happened, so it can make the dynamic kind of odd. I still enjoyed their banter while playing, but felt awkward whenever she went to the more flirty comments, and he would just not answer whenever she would, or give serious/natural answers to her flirty banter.
@@CoLdBITeR I’d say it’s mental maturity. Leon’s a seasoned fighter that’s been around the block at this point and seen crazy stuff. Your experiences tend to make you mature rather than your actual age I’d say.

@Flop Town Weird take but ok. Ashley needed this improvement when a majority of the community hated her before. I like both Ashley’s but she was written extremely poorly in comparison to the remake.
@Flop Town She was like a teenager in the original game, but is more like a young lady in this game. Depending on how "young" you like her to be, then you will like one version over the other.
I don’t think that’s the right term. Doing her justice would imply she was a good character in the og, but she was alright at most. This one vastly improved on her
I do love Ashley in the remake. they not only made her a much more likable character from the get-go, but she shows a lot of change over the course of the game and becomes a lot more emotionally in-check with herself.

I love how Ashley turned out in the remake. That scene on the helicopter proved Ada sees her as a legitimate competition in the remake, instead of just an annoying sidechick in the original.

Yeah! I love how they developed their dialogues, now it feels like they're friends at some points, because I feel like them was flirting sometimes... "but I'm not used to having such good company", "is that a compliment?", "take it however you want", who says that to someone that you don't have attraction? If it wasn't a compliment, he could simply said that "no", but he said the opposite, "take it whatever you want", there's a posibility that Leon was flirting with her, I think.
I prefer that ship because they trust enough to make jokes and help eachother, the chemistry feels there... is healthy. I feel like Leon's relationship with Ada is toxic.
Even if the ship couldn't be real, it's nice for me if they're just friends. Sincerely, before Ada, I prefer Claire... even if they don't have the same chemistry as the relationship between Leon and Ashley, she's nice like Ashley... they would have a healthy relationship.

In the OG, I never really cared for Ashley. She was more annoying than anything. However, in the remake, she is way more fleshed out. She actually converses with Leon and has some physical interactions here and there. Like when she helps Leon put that little flame out on his back after the Mendez boss fight lol. Little details like that is everything! This remake makes me WANT to protect her!

That was really smooth how they handled Ashley's "overtime" line. It still implies that she wants to be with him (most likely, in THAT way lol) but it could also be brushed off as an innocent throwaway as her bodyguard.

I absolutely love Ashley here. The VA Is amazing and the design is beautiful. Also the relationship between León and Ashley is more developed. Now they talk and make jokes and everything while you are shooting (and I love that they BOTH were flirting with each other all the time! And he was so sweet with her)

I like the fact they changed the original dialogue, bc in the original looks like she's hitting on him and he immediately rejected her! Now in this one looks like he's open to them spending some time together lmao
In the original she is just a teen, she was in no way leon type.
In the remake he considers her still like a child. He on more than one occasion talks to her as such. He also refers to her as a young girl not woman through out the first few chapters of the game. There is a scene with her using a crane "is this what they are teaching kids in school now a days?" he asks her jokingly, but it doesn't negate the fact that he only sees her like a little sister. Their banter was cute, but anything involving flirting was one-sided. When she hugs him he doesn't give her even a moment before he says "okay" and taps her back to get her to let him go, he doesn't hug her back. Idk why people think that her being upgraded in terms of appearance and personality would change how she is 20, with still a childish demeanor, and him who is fully mature and trained soldier. Again, I loved their interactions, but she isn't a contender for his romantic interest. Any other more mature woman would be closer to his type.

He is oblivious because he sees her like his little sister. Their dynamic was great to see when you play the game, but any flirtish comments were all from her. He even referred to her as a child not in a rude way just using the wording "is this what kids are learning in school now?" to a scene where she gets into a crane to move a wrecking ball.

I’ve been trying my hardest not to spoil myself until I get the game, but it’s hard not watching the relationship between Leon and Ashley grow
What i think is lacking in the remake:
1. Luis' face
2. Salazar's face
3. Ada's voice acting
What's better than the original:
1. Gameplay
2. Everything about Ashley
3. Mechanics

I like how they changed Ashley’s skirt into green plaid shorts with a pseudo-skirt in the front! Just a nice detail and is honestly more practical fashion-wise
I really hope this Leon continues in the RE remakes. I loved his character and I think it would be awesome if we saw this version alot more.

Man, props to the VA's cuz they did a phenomenal job at portraying Leon and Ashley, especially Ashley's VA.
I think it's one of the reasons why I ship these two together, because of their chemistry but also because of their fantastic VA's 😁

Honestly, I ship Leon and Ashley more than Leon and Ada in Remake.
@@bergerman487fr I always thought leon and ada had a chemistry but it felt like a divorced marriage rather than a sweet couple. I was proud when capcom decided to make leon ignore ada and instead shows more affection to ashley, really happy with the changes capcom!
Now this is what a remake should be.
That scene where Ashley runs away from Leon makes much more sense, and has lots of considerable weight to it.
Not to mention, her attire and attitudes improved a whole lot better.
Don't get me wrong I love the original game, but to be honest a lot of stuff did bother me.
I honestly adore how much they improved her character in this version. So much better than the og tbh

Ashley was great in the original, everybody loved her, but she is WAY better in the remake! She is still soft, but she's not as helpless. She even goes out of her way to protect Leon from the knights! Definitely a major improvement!

Yeah my dude not everyone loved her in the OG. Her voice was annoying and she acted like a teenager not an adult in her 20s. She was annoying and useless. In this one she's not annoying she's tries to actually help Leon and they have a better dynamic.
