They didn't allow her to make people monsters, she was controlling them. And from what the Dad said, there's nothing you can do when you're controlled. Eveline and Miranda are the manifestation of the 'devouring mother' archetype, a being obsessed for being love. The devouring mother thinks she's doing good but in reality, her actions are morally questionable.
Imma disagree on that. "Devouring Mother" is a good descriptor for Miranda especially, but I don't think they have any illusions of doing good. Eveline is too emotionally immature to have an understanding of what her actions really mean, and Miranda just doesn't care how much damage she does, being so detached from humanity. I think it's a stretch to say that either of them believe they're doing good. Eveline would be better described as a superpowered temper tantrum made manifest.
Morally questionable? She was the Culprit of deaths of hundreds of people
I think you're giving this B tier plot too much credit.

@@zinogre1362 That's why that shit. DON'T.MAKE.NO.SENSE.
If (VIII) Eveline was telling the truth, that means Ethan IS dead, and also means Mold-Ethan is just another extension of her. That means Mold-Ethan could/shouldn't be able to have children (Rose), and would've been dead the minute after he killed Eveline. You know.. The Source of His own creation.
@@DavidMyrmidon I think that's where the megamycete comes in

Woah the whole "Welcome to the Family son..." from 7 has a whole new meaning now
The Bakers are the only antagonists in RE who were never villains. You could sympathize to an extent with some of the other RE villains, such as those who were betrayed by Umbrella and injected themselves with the virus to have their revenge on them. For all we know Miranda was probably a good woman before she lost her daughter, or Wesker maybe wasn't evil before he got mixed up with Umbrella and realized the true nature of his existence, but the choices they made afterwards is what made them truly evil. The Bakers did nothing wrong, they were just decent people who wanted to help and were turned into monsters because of it. Sad stuff.
I see your point. I feel bad for them too, but you can add a bunch of innocent people who turned into monsters on that list. There are lots of innocents who turned into monsters and lost their true personalities in RE:0, RE:1, RE:3, Code Veronica, RE:4, RE:5, RE:6, RE:7, RE:8. I'm glossing over the cannon 3D movies and other spin-offs.
There were a bunch of civilians in each installment. The person I felt the most sorry for of all was Lisa Trevor from RE:Make 1. A kid turned super zombie, barely conscious of her actions, wandering a creepy mansion looking for her mom and dad for many years. But sure, the Bakers had a great story too!
Lucas was pretty evil
I'm quite sure Albert was a bioweapon as a child now if we're talking sympathy for antagonist I'll say Carla who was betrayed and experimented on by Derick Simmons in RE6 she was turned into a Ada duplicate and eventually broke and turned on Simmons.
if I remember correctly they were married or engaged which makes that betrayal even more so.
This makes me question why Heisenberg thought he couldn't kill Miranda hisself when it took Ethan using basically a tank to take him down and he killed Miranda with regular weapons from beginning to end
Miranda was controlling them with parasite.also her power was fading when she resurrected the child and got shot by Chris s team. Ethan fought with weakened Miranda
Rose was the only one capable of defeating Miranda completely, this was hinted at several times throughout the game.

In Ethan’s perspective it all started with the Bakers. A perfectly normal and innocent family that one day, when Eveline appeared and has infected the family. Turning them into a monster.
The Bakers were just a nice family trying to help a little girl and a woman who showed up at their house. Eveline, deep down, was just a a girl who wanted a loving family. And Ethan, a man who sacrificed for his daughter. Man, when you stop to think, RE7 and Village hit you right in the feels

Hard to believe that the events of Resident Evil VII happened because Eveline wanted a family, and she somehow got her wish in Resident Evil VIII
So Evelines unhealthy obsession with having a family of her own stems from her actual mother throwing her away for not being the daughter she wanted. Eveline may have been a monster to the Bakers, but I can't help but pity her ever so slightly.

11:19 - Love this scene. Jack's speech hits hard
I always see Eveline as a character to mourn for. She became twisted by anger and spite because she was made to want something that she could never have. Every time that she tried to have a family it never went right, so seeing Ethan killing himself for Mia and Rose just filled her with so much anger and sorrow. If Mia and Ethan could have found a way to save her, heal her, give her the home that she wished for so badly then maybe she could’ve been better. She wasn’t evil at the start in my opinion, but finding out that she didn’t have a family on that tanker made her programming and her desire to kick into high gear. I can’t help but want to try and forgive her. Everyone deserves a family and a home.
After seeing everything unraveled, you can't help but feel extremely sorry for the Baker family. Quite literally just innocent civilians who got caught up in everything by trying to help a little girl.
Except Lucas
don't you all think that mother maranda succeeded in reviving eve so she grew up with Mia with the name rose?
Not quite, Rose's essence was to powerful, so what was brought back was nothing But Rose herself, and proud of being a Winters.
Ya I guess Eva was in her, as a second personality.
Here's my theory, I think when Maranda summoned the baby I think it was too late, the baby wasn't Rose anymore she IS Eveline but raised rightfully in a family, maybe that's way he called her Eveline because she is!

The fact that they were originally a loving family prior to the events of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and then put through hell fucking ruins me. If Eveline hadn't corrupted their lives, then they probably would've adopted her and she would have a family just like she always wanted. @@feryfrost8572 Ethan died? How? So he can die? But he's a mold
@@chickenfootlicker He started to decay after the Miranda fight and was prolly burned in the explosion afterwards. The Megamycete presumably dying might also have something to do with it.
@@kidzarentright megamycete is behaving like a data hub center and restore the conciousness of anyone that it infect. Theoritically we can ressurect ethan. But as we know ethan fucking killed the megamycete himself.
@@feryfrost8572 Could also be fIXation, phoenIX, suffIX, or elIXer.
The saddest thing about all this is that the megamycete incorporates the consciousness of those that it infects, and we saw that when Ethan talked to the real bakers in RE7, so they were all trapped inside of it, while Eveline used them as "family".
So, when Chris had the megamycete blown up, the bakers true consciousness finally died, or at least they were finally set free.
That, that is just really sad, because they were infected against their own will by Eveline and were trapped there in the megamycete ever since then, unable to do anything, and we got to see who they truly were and how truly desperate they were for help.
The Bakers Family story is truly the saddest and most depressing plotline in the entire RE Universe.
So if the Megamycete essentially “records” everything it infects through a kind of psychic-subconscious catalog... just how powerful does that imply Rose could be? Could she straight up have access to all the infected bosses abilities through the catalog? Jack’s enhanced regen, Marguerite’s bug control, Heisenburg’s electrical manipulation... holy crap that kid may end up being the strongest thing in the RE universe.
As soon as Jack cut off Ethan's leg, he basically offered an family invitation by dropping the bottle of molded water.
Jack baker and his family honestly like I am like sad for them because they were a normal family and now they just have a urge to eat someone sad man
think of all the fanfiction people can make out of this 😅
Please God no
Y
God no please
Dude.. this IS Fanfiction.
What are you insinuating?
Bro the bakers were so nice I feel so bad for them, saving Evie was the worst thing they could’ve done but they did it cos they were pure of heart
Except Lucas.
I still wonder how jack was still alive after being killed by ethan
Maybe his conscience was in the mold and his will to protect Zoe (that's why he looks for her) makes him revive? 🤔🤔
Everything infected by the mold becomes part of it. The Megamycete (literally just "Mega Fungus") absorbs the memories/consciousness of whatever becomes a part of it, so those people still technically live on within the mold. Ethan, already infected in RE7, essentially becomes a fungus colony of the mold, and that's how he carries the memories and consciousness of Jack Baker within his own mind. Even after the bodies are destroyed, a part of them still exists within the mold.
looks like he is as equal as the 4 lord in Village, very compatible but not stable
@@zhebanelm1755 something tells me the Duke is also the part of the mold...
@@zhebanelm1755 So you're saying Ethan is like Alex Mercer from Prototype?
Resident castlevania, vampire, zombie, werewolf, witch, and many more. The protagonist named Winter Belmont the legendary vampire killer with his whi-- I mean with his guns he will slay all bioweapons and save rose
🤨.... 🤔
Ethan Winters was Van Helsing all along. And we didn't even realize it 😂🤣
Capcom can make a good van hel sing game if they want
This story actually hits hard when you take the time to read the notes around the map & pay attention to story cutscenes, DLC included
So the Mold and Miranda already exist even before Umbrella born...
And 'E-Virus' kinda the origin of other virus series?
Wayyyy too convoluted
In a way yes but not exactly, the e-virus is a product engineered from the megamycete in village which is technically in its own right a parasite much like the las plagas. Another thing in my own personal opinion is that the uroboros virus from 5 is a derivative of the mold seeing as spencer was very much aware of the mold and the fact that wesker was indeed affiliated with spencer. One thing for similarities sake would be excella when she transforms is very very like the mold that appears when miranda is around. And another thing that can be made as a point is the fact that the four lords of Miranda all have various levels of integration with the parasite with less meaning more mutation (salvatore) and more meaning increased power (heisenberg). And where you can connect it with uroboros is that excella wasnt worthy so she mutated horribly whereas wesker was made much stronger and heisenberg and wesker both have striking similarties in the control of metal as in the final sequence of resi 5, wesker is able to absorb metal pieces into his arm when he uses the uroboros.
@@killstar225 no way writters (and different ones) could think back then about Re8 Plot. It's simply that the writters of Re8 try their best to accomodate the history with old entries
@@Rafesco no no obviously not, but with what they have done with the mold and the similarities in general, it wouldnt be amazingly surprising if they were to come out with some form of massive plot twist like that. What i mean is yeah, they couldnt have planned that sort of thing from when 5 was about, however they have somewhat of a possibility to make that a thing with the various connections made to the older series of games within village. (also want to state that im not saying that they were connected, it was my own personal theory that im simply proud to share)
@@Rafesco in a way i mean the reverse of what you said, absolutely no way the writers could have plot idea of re8 completely agree. But with re8's lore and revelations on spencer makes a fair argument to make a connection.
Jack Baker is both terrifying and heartbreaking.
They were good people trying to save her and they ended up being taken over and turned psychotic. Easily my favorite in the series.
Sucks seeing what happened to the Baker’s, but I’m glad Lucas got what came to him. Let’s not forget he was a monster long before meeting Eveline.
its so surreal seeing jack and marguirete like this, normal, wholesome, and then seeing their final forms before you kill them, its horrifying
Is it me, or was it awesome to see the Bakers again? awesome antagonist (and protagonists in this game),very lively characters.
I lost several tears during that cutscene when Jack is trying to convince Ethan that they never wanted to hurt anyone,
then the DLC hit where they were not infected yet, thats when the emotions hit hard....
The Bakers, another horrible case of victims in the global biological warfare of the RE Universe...
I kinda feel bad for Eveline.
I know she’s bad but i kinda feel if raised right she could’ve been a normal girl but she was experimented on instead.
In the end she was just a brat who wanted to have a family but her vision of “family “ was beyond twisted.
She was created in a lab, she could never be normal
@@Hero_Of_Old but with the right upbringing she could behave normally.
Deep down she did things to fill the void if being lonely.
Treat a lab rat like a lab rat and this is what you'll get.
@@Hero_Of_Old you do know a lot of children are made in labs right?
Eveline It's a biological weapon, I could never be a normal person
the baker family was so sweet it hurts way more :-( esp after the dad took the time to make than feel safe knowing all the things he did when he was alive when they had their talk at the end as himself
I felt like a god while controlling Chris, damn badass.
🤣👍🏻
“I’m no killer, son. Neither is Marguerite, nor my boy, Lucas.”
… Yeah, about Lucas…
kombucha is a fermented drink made with a mother - its a fungus essentially - that gets added and reused in every batch. this always reminds me of the mother daughter reference because it doesnt need anything else to replicate.
I actually cried playing this game. Ethan and the Bakers were dealt such shitty hands in life and all they were trying to do was help folks.
Hello BabyZone This Is A Nice Video On RE8
Hey, Bro been a while didn't see you in the comment section. Really glad to see you around XD
Thank U
Here have a like
Oh my god thank u so much BabyZone
:)
Marge is such a sweet mother. Poor family
Something just kinda clicked to me: Miranda after the Heisenberg fight states that Rose is Eveline's true, complete form, and that does make me think about something here. Eveline's whole scheme and the central idea and plot surrounding her was that in RE: 7 - B, she wanted a family. To become something else rather than a mere test subject for the Connections. Of course, she came across the Baker's and you know the story by this point, she infected them with her "gift" and they went crazy. Point is, when Miranda pointed out that Rose is Eveline's complete form, it kind of brings up an idea that Eveline in a sense acheived her goal that she had in RE: 7 - B, which, of course, was the idea of family. We've seen a reflected personality of Eveline onto Rose given how Rose likes to wear green, just like Eveline. But all in all, within this context, Eveline actually managed to succeed in getting a loving family. Interesting how it works like that.
Eve not eveline
Lucas was the only baker character that already had darkness in him. He killed someone way before he got possessed or whatever
11:35 The way Zoe looks at Jack, gets up and stands at the window for the rest of the scene after he puts his hand on her lap... Always looked a bit suspicious. Could just be me though.
Despite giving sexual assault vibes I feel more like Zoe was the least infected out of all of them and doesn't feel quite safe with her family anymore after all that happened a sexual assault in that story would be out of nowhere if you ask me
poor jack is clearly nervous, it not only affected him in his physical form but also in his soul and mind
The greatest husband and a dead dad on earth in fiction, Ethan you makes me full of tears everytime !
Maybe in the next game, ethan may guide his beloved daughter through mold.
i always knew Ethan was dead the whole time as soon as he first reattached his leg and it went back to normal like nothing happened i was like oh he’s dead
