Especially considering the checkered recording history of somehow getting it together under the odd recording conditions of being exiled in the basement of their French mansion, absolutely no doubt in my mind, yes. Truly encompasses the entire breadth of American music with a range no other comparable group has ever attempted or even been capable of achieving if they had. The all-time shining example of a true masterpiece being greater than the sum of its parts, and hasn't aged a day since its release.
I agree but mostly because of its range of styles and being a 2 record album. My vote for best single record album of all time would be Let it Bleed (with Sticky Fingers as a close second) 🤘
masterpiece. ihave 3 double albums 2 cd. like ur. story telling enjoy u down to earth approach im ur vintage. im going to sub u. from land downunder. dont make music like that no more cheers cd vs vunyl. i like both. but cd gets the nod. great music room
From audiophile point of view ,it is the worse album of the Stones! But from the Musician point of view, from the Heart and Soul point of view, it is their best and most authentic achievement! Paradoxal Masterpiece of A great Bluesrock Band! You need a many long years to understand the point!
IMO, Nevermind the Bollocks Here’s the Sex Pistols is the greatest rock LP ever recorded. Amazing guitar tone that far surpasses anything the Stones did.
Sex Pistols don’t even belong in the same conversation with the Stones or Led Zeppelin, or many other far superior bands IMO. But, music is subjective so you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but if you ran a poll with Stones vs Sex Pistols I’m very confident it would be a runaway in the Stones favor!
To add Jagger's own words:"I'm not too sure how great the songs are, but put together it's a nice piece. However, when I listen to Exile it has some of the worst mixes I've ever heard. I'd love to remix the record, not just because of the vocals, but because generally I think it sounds lousy". Indeed..

I don’t know but it has aged better than most.
They just did it! They didn't think about it or intellectualize it! It never would have been done if they did!

No that’s would be Sticky Fingers!!!
Led Zeppelin was NEVER a rock 'n roll band.....CAN'T DANCE TO ONE ZEPPELIN SONG......same for THE WHO....same for Pink Floyd......
No its not. Its not even the best Stones album. Sticky Fingers And Let it Bleed are better.
The reflection of that screen on your speaker is really distracting.
Let it Bleed and Sticky Fingers are superior.
I won't disagree.

Did u forget your meds today? Pistols buitar sounds like a 12 year old practicing
You're kidding right? When it came out it was like; "hey the Stones are playing a bunch of old blues." Dance Little Sister is crap.
Wrong album. That song is on Abbey Road.
Answer: NO. Overblown, messy. A couple of good tracks, mainly 'tumbling dice'. 'Happy' is enjoyable. Give me Sticky fingers any time..
