I have always loved how insightful Paul Stanley is. He is well spoken and is well read. I was lucky enough to have seen KISS live twice. Keep rocking Paul.
Regardless of whether you like KISS or not, you can't deny that both Paul and Gene were in the band for all the right reasons and they did bring a lot of joy to people around the world through their music. They both are very articulate speakers as well.
Gene wanted to make money. That's about it.
I share a mailbox room with Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, and one time I accidentally locked my keys inside. I had to go find Paul at Starbucks and ask him to let me in-he’s a really nice guy! I see him, his wife, and his child all the time. I see Gene occasionally too, and he’s also very kind. Both of them are genuinely sweet people!
Love listening to Paul talk and sing!❤
Nothing beats that legendary Tom Snyder interview with Ace, though. 😂

I met Paul at one of his art shows. I even stayed until everyone was gone, and we talked shop. At the time I booked entertainment for a local club in Atlanta. It was fun! Paul was a complete gentleman. He was lovely 💋🖤🤘🏻

Paul speaks very well. Very intelligent dude. Kiss was and in many cases still is a big part of kids and long time fans lives in a sense it wouldn't have been the same had kiss not existed. Lots of good times growing up
Met Paul many times and he was always a genuinely good guy
Paul Stanley is a well spoken Dude
I was just thinking the same thing!
Crystal clear enunciation too.
Obviously a clean sober man.
Kiss Rocks! Great interview guys!!!! Ty!
Paul Stanley one of the greatest underrated male rock singers in rock amazing vocals!!!
Yet their biggest hit was with Peter Criss on vocals.
Articulate, authentic, intelligent and professional musician. Admire his loyalty to Gene. They always do a great interview together or separate. 💜🙋🏼♀️🐨🦘
What a well spoken dude
That's the best advice I have heard in a long time. "The key to a good partnership is to understand its' limitations. Then you won't be disappointed." Wowser wish I knew that before a few relationships I got involved in. I think to take it further ...you have to understand the limitations in yourself first ...then the other person. I think then you see everything more clearly and where conflict or disagreements stem from for the most part. A good example of that is Stewart Copeland talking about his musical relationship with Sting and why they were at each others throats so much. They made music for different reasons. Stewart made music as an expression of joy and celebration while Sting wrote music and wanted it to be very introspective. Stewart learned that many years after The Police had broken up. Paul and Gene really were the driving force behind KISS but I really liked them with Ace and Peter. No disrespect to the other guys. I saw KISS with RUSh as the opening band with their original drummer John Rutsey. I think Paul said this was one of his favourite opening acts as they were more like Led Zeppelin on their first album. Working Man!!!!
Great advice for sure!
What's up Paul! Always great to see you! KEEP ROCKIN' MY BROTHER 🙏🏼❤️🔥🎶🎸🥁💪🏼💯

Paul is so well spoken and intelligent The smartest band member in KISS deserving all the success he and his bandmates attained
I don't know why I'm surprised. Paul is an articulate, smart person with intelligence beyond his "star child" persona. I do like that they wanted to be the band that they never saw. For the time in the 70s being what it was that was such a brilliant idea...and they made it work. 🎉
Lov Paul Stanley!!❤
Awesome story
1 OF THE BEST FRONT MEN IN ROCK & ROLL HISTORY 👍🤘,,LIKE IT OR NOT ....
I've never been a Kiss fan. I like this guy. I'm a fan.
I saw them on new year eve 1999 in Vancouver BC.. They played songs that night they hadn't played in years!
I was there ..right next to the soundboard. I shook Thayer's hand at midnight!
Very bright guy.
Smart guy, great interview.
My first introduction 2 Music was this band 30+ times on of my favorite still today
Замечательный Музыкант и Человек

PAUL ✋👊👍👍👍💥
Jimmy Swaggart recorded an album with his cousin Jerry Lee Lewis. Who would have thought?
"Kiss started as the band we never saw". Very true they filled in the gaps. Not top tier musicians or songwriters but they sure put on a show and worked for it. No ne person or group can anything away from them for that!. Well said Paul.
He has to have the BEST WIG in the Bz! Great JOB!😊 (jP,kinda!) Hope I look that Good that far OUt😊
Hes hot. Aged well
If you win the lottery you get to complain about how much you are being taxed which is too much by the way.
I think the point was to be greatfull for what luck and hard work brings.
@@sarchisi You can be and do both.
The whole "Satanic Panic" of the 70s and 80s was a bunch of nonsense. As Paul said, a lot of those people doing the accusing are long gone but he's still around.
I thought KISS started to go a little down hill when Paul and Gene stopped writing together. It was just different. Not necessarily bad. I always kind of preferred Paul’s songs over Gene’s. All in all, they will always be my favorite band and one of the biggest influences on my way of doing things in a band.
They didn't get popular until the mid-70s. And Frehley wrote most of their badass tunes. Simmons wrote some bangers too.
How did he get through this interview without trashing Peter and ace?
Why don't you write a comment without trashing Paul?
I was never a fan of Kiss and neither were any of my friends back then because we saw them as a maxed out glam rock band mostly for young teens.
❤
The greatest live album ever made, Kiss Alive!
That is the album that made me a Kiss fan and I have been on ever since.
The mutual Washington Heights friend, Steve Coronel, later went to prison for SA. He was interviewed in '96 for the Beyond The Makeup documentary, so the incarceration was after that. There's some obscure Kisstory for ya.
5:58 no truer words!!
Very nice guy, and a great wig, but KISS don't have a single song that is up there with the best. I mean Led Zep, Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Queen, Sabbath, Metallica, Floyd, Purple, Hendrix etc etc. Not a single one. And no "Rock and Roll all Night" isn't it. Made a boatload of money off marketing and showmanship alone. Their music is background music to their business interests.

I always thought Paul was the nice guy and Gene was the jerk but there's a clip out there of Paul freaking out on a reporter who was wearing another band's t-shirt that changed my opinion of him.
You sound like a Jerk 🙂
It was Gene.
He didn't like the interviews t-shirt.
But he gave the guy and his band publicity.
It was a win-win for everyone.
KISS is an institution, and they earned it. RUSH toured in support of them back in the mid seventies. They are Buds. Both acts endured for 40 yrs plus. That's all they need.
The KISS FOREVER
Does Paul like anyone who was ever in KISS? He spends his entire life ripping on Ace and Peter saying they can't play their instruments, with no irony at all despite his own singing and Gene's bass playing for the last 20 years. Facts are Ace's guitar solos are the best part of every KISS song he was on. Gene and Paul spent their entire career jumping on bandwagons like copying Alice Cooper then making Disco, Prog, Hair Metal, Rap and Grunge albums to stay relevant. Ace and Peter still kept their cool rockstar credentials by not being on any of those albums for the most part.
is the Steve- Steve Cornell?
Steve Coronel.
As the lead-guitarist in Wicked Lester he co-wrote with Gene "She" and "Goin' Blind".
The record company didn't want him. Gene asked him to leave the band. And they took Ron Leejack in..
Paul is so intelligent
3:38 It's honest,
but brutal to tell a child:
"I can't believe you are my child". Children feel like: Daddy doesn't accept me as his child".
I think he meant he can't get over how fortunate he is.
@@jacktorrance2633
Try to think like a child when you hear:
"...not my child".
You want to hear from your Daddy:
"You are my little boy".
When he doesn't believe that you are his boy, then you feel lost.
Like nobody's son.
Paul wrote about his dysfunctional childhood and he thought his parents didn't love him.
Here you can see that he tends to make the same mistakes like his parents. He shouldn't tell his child his own feelings. Paul is too honest.
No, like wow,I can't believe I get to be your dad! I honestly doubt he meant anything negative.
Children can't articulate their feelings.
I know what Paul meant.
The question is: How did his child feel?
As a cosmetic PAC-C nurse in Beverly Hills, let me say this: Mr. Stanley went too far with the upper eye bleph. Other wise the facial skin pull back is ok, a little extreme. Dude isn't going to pass as a 21 year old
When they took their makeup off most people went wtf?
Well aren't you unprofessional....
He can Pass as 52. And .That's OK for someone in their 70s! Ya haven't addressed his Wig Work tho! He must have the Master Wig master !😂 (Tho.. I kinda kid!) Dude has some good 'DR's in his life
Paul disliked Gene when they first met ..... Oh snap ! .....😲
Paul, step back from the surgery. You look like the joker but surprised. And. We ALL hate Gene
Early kiss is what made kiss who they are. Just because the band ends earlier than what they want to doesn’t mean that they weren’t great in their own right the original kiss is kiss. Everything else is just a money grab based on the original.
In 1986 I was lying about my age, sitting in Sunset Strip Tattoo waiting for my appointment, when in walks Gene Simmons. He looked down at me with disgust, then proceeded to insult the tattoo artist for the drawings that were prepared for one of his painted leather jackets. It would surprise me if anyone liked Simmons upon first meeting, what a dickhead.
During my lifetime, all of my closest friends I did not like them initially.
Paul brings up a good point about a band's appearance. I've always hated the we-don't-care look of the Eagles. Never mind their bland music, they always looked like hell.
a) a band that made you feel they were doing you a favor
b) a band that looked like they just rolled out of bed
any guesses? a) maybe genesis b) definitely the stones and dolls LOL
The thing that brings us together is greed!
Before looking closer at the thumbnail I thought he was Kamala Harris
Ace was the heart of the bad. The others are amateur musicians.
Ace was a soul of the band without his sound there is no kiss
@@BobCarroll-j1u Funny they were around longer without him, than they were with him in the band.
@@granthoulebeing around and being good are two different things
Nah.
@@granthoule That is true but many of us feel that almost all of their best music was during the Ace/Peter years.
Paul the K in KISS
I thought it was Edwina curry
He’s just..🙄
Word salad
They say the same shit, over and over, year after year.
Kiss sucks...(been a fan since '75)
Paul Stanley seems gay no judgment
His face is like cartoon
Esa momia diganle que ya esta muerta
Kamala?
Looking a little plastic..
Knights In Satan's Service that's KISS. Birds of a feather flock together as the old saying goes.
You’re weird
You've got to be joking
@@Axesmellsgr8Ya Like Paul said about Jim & Tami Baker's of the World " The Acusers Are Oftentimes The Abusers"
I am a Christian but never believed that B.S about them. For one thing there were people saying that it stood for other things too like Kindreds in Satan's Spirits and a few others that I can't remember now. When Gene Simmons was once asked about that he said that he want to call the band the f-bomb but knew they'd get no radio play. I think that if a band is demonic they won't try to hide it. There are heavy metal bands like Slayer who have a pentagram in their logo. Those are the bands I stay away from but I am a huge Kiss fan and have been for about 50 years.
@jerryjohnson9531 Jerry With All Do Respect , While I Agree with you Wholeheartedly in Regards to KISS . I To have Been A Huge Fan of Them & The Whole Hard Rock & Heavy Metal Genre. While I Agree with you About The Cheesy Satanic imagery Being A Red Flag For Those Who Wish to Avoid the Possibility That Bands that Promote A Darker , Heavier and Sometimes Faster More Intricate Form of Music. Paul is a nice looking woman
This interview is like 6 yrs old
Only one I still respect is Ace
Ace rules
Kamala Harris is that you?
Naw he always hod behind a mask in order to be able to try at a normal life. He has always been about money, same as Gene. Gene is just more open about it. If he didn't want that, he would have said no to all the merchandise. If he just wanted to be a rocker giving to his fans, he could have easily gone another way. He could have gone solo since he wrote most of the songs. He could have made hos own band instead of sticking with the brand that made him. So, no, sorry, he is just more articulate at using his words to deflect.
KISS was ripped off
enough by others.
Even Ace said:
Why should we let others make money with our merch?
