Im romani, this is schekenza hulushki(sauerkraut/cabbage). We also make one with egg noodles, bacon, cottage cheese, cream cheese, and browned butter with goulash that is to die for LOL
My aunt was from the Philippines. And she made a similar dish that we loved. The difference was she diced up a pound of beacon😊 beacon ,when that was cooked, she removed it from the pan,but left the grease.then added one,or two bunches diced long green onions (depending how much she was making) some diced garlic. And a small head of cabbage diced up.she would let that cook, while the kluski noodles were cooking. When done she would drain the noodles add to the vegtable mixture, and used about a half of bottle of soy u sauce (depending on your taste) mix everything together.its Delious. More oriental. Dish.
