That was exciting! Glad you didn't blow away...I love the view...the endless creases and folds of the mountains
Beautiful day for hiking! Great views! Thanks for sharing!🩷🥾⛰️
I bet Leffe would like to go on that beautiful hike….🥰🏔️⛰️
And here, we can see a Nyx frolicking in her natural environment. 😂 Funny you said Greylock in the beginning. The AT is still stirring in your mind. 😊 Absolutely stunning views! I knew you would summit; that's our Stella. I'm glad you got back out there. It's obvious the joy it brings you...and us ultimately. Take care ✌️
... Tongue twister ,, but Mt. Greyrock in Colorado is over twice the elevation of Mt . Greylock in Mass. ... at over 7,600 ft. .... The AT is foothills compared to Colo. Some of the best Colo. trails are around 10k ft or higher ....
@rockytopwrangler2069 Oh, I know. 🙂 I just thought the Freudian slip was cute. The mountains in Colorado are massive compared to the east coast for sure.
@@rockytopwrangler2069it’s amazing how much taller the younger mountains are. The AT is like a hunched over little old person.
@@kathrynlitchfield7140😂 love it!
Hiking the AT would be a dream I live close to Erwin and Damascus VA. I just cant seem to find the time. and love seeing the smile on your face
Stella you remind me of some of the books I loved to read when I was a teenager, I’ll call your book STELLAS GREAT ADVENTURES 😂😂😂
Gorgeous hike! Amazing views! Thanks for sharing! It's my dream to live in CO! :)
Well wasn’t this a pleasant a little surprise!❤😊Beautiful country for sure..
You still have the AT and Mt Greylock on your mind, miss your Good Mornings
That was beautiful on top of that Mountain.❤❤❤❤
WOW!!! COLORADO IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!
The yellow hat is back!
Wow!
Good morning, Stella.
Beautiful trail.
Wow, hike at least 14 miles and left at 3 pm. Made it back before dark, which is about 8 pm. I'm impressed.
.. As she mentioned in the beginning , the loop trail is 7.2 miles total .. still a good hike for not being out since the AT ,, and at twice the elevation ..
@@rockytopwrangler2069I miss understand her . Thought she said 7 miles to peak and 7 back . Thanks .
So glad you got AT done. Conn. Is crazy. Trail and bridges gone.
I forgot to mention a couple of things...good too see you continuing to stretch. 👍Ease back into it. Your knees took a beating and are still healing. If it's any consolation, Nahamsha said in her last video that it felt like she lost her trail legs. You'll bounce back. 🙂✌️
Well this made my day - Stella hiking and smiling ear to ear on top of a mountain !! I love it 🥰
Oh wow! Hi new neighbor! I live right here too! I won't say where but Greyrock is an obvious landmark. Beautiful hiking area!
It's amazing how quickly the edge comes off, after a thruy . . .
Rocky Mt High Colorado!! Beautiful scenery ❤ Nobody puts Stella in a corner 😊Moss dont grow under her feet!! You go Girl 👏 ✅️🌹
allrighty then go stella
Did you know it takes 6 months to completely adjust to altitude. That might be why your legs feel stiff. Beautiful!
Fun to be hiking with you
WOW! CO is beautiful! Amazing to have places like that just outside of town. Thanks sharing! 🌸🧡
Maybe some swimming or "pool therapy", would help the knees. Just a thought. Nice hike, Thanks!
Wow these views are beautiful! Nice to see you back hiking 😊
Stella , You are a avid hiker. You were meant to explore the wonderful and beautiful natures in this country. Glad you are continuing to live the life you were meant to lead. Live Strong!!
I love Colorado. Got to spend time in Colorado Springs and there are so many trails within 15 minutes.
nice i’m in northern CO so always looking for new places
Wow! I got to have coffee with that jazzy music again!
Great little hike Stella. ❤
beautiful right on your doorstep , keep them comming
C'mon, you were always gonna go to the summit lol😂 Looks beautiful there in Colorado🤩 Great to see you hiking again Stella....🖐🇬🇧💙
Wow the Colorado wilderness is so incredible 🥰 I love that you're hiking again and seeing how your body handles everything again.
Beautiful hike Stella❤
So happy to see you smiling and whoopin’ it up on the summit!! What a gift to be so close to that kind of beauty⛰
Good video. Do you think having your hiking poles would have made this hike more comfortable? How miles did you hike? 😊.
Keep your hiking legs limber!
❤
... Good to see you out on Colo. trails ... A little break and now back at it ,, which was good to get acclimated to the elevation in the area .... As time allows , there are so many awesome trails in Colorado it's hard to pick what comes next ... write down on a card all interested trails you want to hike ,, put them in a hat and toss it in the air ,, which ever comes closest to your foot is next ... Be aware of altitude sickness and spend at least one day at a higher trail base area to acclimate ,, the struggle is real ,, loss of breathe,, sore muscles ,, fatigue and headaches just to name some symptoms and you want to enjoy the time on the mountain ... Vitamin i will become your friend .... Just from one side foothills to the other is over 200 hundred miles east to west with elevation of over 11k ft. in a straight line on a highway .... hard to believe what the pioneers endured ... Stay Safe and God Bless ... and keep smiling ...
Vitamin i?
Ibuprofen
Colorado is so beautiful! I was able to hike some of the Colorado Trail when my son worked at the Breckenridge ski resort. I just loved it but elevation was a struggle for a PA gal! What a great place to explore!
Yay!! Stella Hikes again but this time in Colorado😍👏🏆😁
Absolutely beautiful hike! I always love your ‘woooo’ when you reach the top. Thank you for sharing! 😊
Beautiful hike, thanks for sharing! This is about my level of hiking so it feels like I'm on that trail myself😅 My 1st outdoor activity was MTB but now it starts shifting more and more into hiking. They say hiking (mountains) is a weight-lifting exercise and rebuilds bone tissue. Exactly what I need at my age, so often I take this🚳 route🤣
Best thing you could've possibly done, post thru-hike of the A.T. Brings it all back together under one single umbrella. Be well, stay safe. 🥾
The breezes must of felt so refreshing after the miserable wet rain of Maine
Beautiful area to hike.
Wow! It's been a month since you summited. Time flies! So nice to have someplace so close to your home for hiking.
Wow!! Those views were so beautiful!!! It sure was great to see you hiking again😊
So beautiful! Thanks for sharing your hike! I love Colorado!
Colorado sure is beautiful! I forgotten how beautiful it is. I'm sure that you were very glad to get back out there. I always enjoy your videos!
Oh wow it is beautiful there thank you for taking us along 😊
So beautiful. Thanks for sharing ❤
Beautiful scenery!
Great to see another awesome hike from you! Beautiful views!
Love it! 🥾
I know you must be happy back on a trail. After the AT, this hike must feel like a treat!
Good to see you hiking again. Great views!
The cycling descent on Poudre River Canyon road (Hwy 14) from Walden to FC is totally amazing. It follows the river all the way. One of the best cycling descents I have ever cycled. The area is amazing.
Lived in Estes Park, CO for 21 years following my ‘97 AT hike. Wonderful area. Got to be too busy for me and I moved back to the Southern Appalachians in Western NC.
Thank you Stella! Nothing I love more than hiking and watching hiking videos in Colorado. This brought back many memories of Poudre canyon where I spent a lot of time when at CSU. I also love hiking in the Medicine Bows, just west of Laramie. Can’t wait to be back out there.
Nice to see you on trail-sure is a pretty spot on earth that your in.
Loved this video! One of my favorites so far. The views were spectacular, and I loved how you showed us the trail and the map, and explained the intersections. I felt I was right there hiking! Thanks for bringing us along.
I'm also wondering about the wildlife. It must be different than the AT... instead of black bears, grizzlies? Also mountain lions? What can you do to prepare for potential encounters to stay safe? I think a video (or more) on this topic would be interesting, and helpful for people who may want to hike in Colorado.
🦋
Yay! You’re back hiking! Would love to see you do the Mt Zirkel part of the CDT. Better yet, do it at the end of August when we are camping at Steamboat Lake. We can bring trail magic to where it crosses the road before WY border. 😍Aspen will almost be turning.
Good to see that smile again!
The trail will always be there for you.all the best from saugus mass.
God bless America. So many countries have similar beauty. Thanks for sharing.
Oooh ooooh ooooh, Coyote call.! P.S. as a former runner, if I had taken a month off of a marathon, my muscles would tell me to ease back into activity. Same for sprinters, pole vaulters, gymnasts, swimmers etc. Your mind is in the right place.
Absolutely gorgeous trail and views! Thansk for sharing! By the way, what pants are those? Love that color.
Love Colorado .
Beautiful! Can’t wait to see your vlogs during the peak Aspen fall color season. Oooh, perhaps you would consider exploring the Brainard Lake Recreation Area (I know, it’s a bit of a drive of 65 miles from Fort Collins) for some awesome fall colors in late August and maybe make it all the way to the magical “Blue Lake” since the snow will have melted! Perfect opportunity for a cold water swim challenge awaits you there in all its alpine splendor. Whatever you do, we’ll stay tuned❤.
What altitude did you start and summit at? might explain some of your fatigue compared to the AT trail.
Gotta keep hiking to keep your mind right
What gear do you take on your day hikes?
De-thawing? So do they feel like they’re freezing? I’m confused. Lol. I feel like hiking is something you have to do pretty regularly to not lose your trail legs. Many sports I feel like you can take time off and jump back in without too much fuss. But hiking…. Not so much. You still did great. Colorado is so beautiful. I’m jealous.
❤
Do you think some of the weak feeling might be from not being used to hiking at that altitude? Beautiful views from the high point.
Most likely the Cameron Peak Fire of 2020, the largest in Colorado history.
Toto. We're not in Maine anymore. A little CO envy here.
? for you - we'll be out in your area in the next few weeks for my sons National Ultimate tournament. We'll have 2.5 days prior to get him acclimated and such. Any good day hikes (like this one) you would suggest or other 'stuff' . IDK how much time you have spent there but we've not been out there for a few years. Thanks so much !
I know you're highly experienced but please be aware of the wildlife in Colorado! Especially mountain lions. FYI. Some people wear a ball cap with, what looks like eyes, sewn on the back of their caps. Mountain lions approach from behind and the "fake eyes" appears to them as yours and they may not approach. Be safe.
So pretty out there and so different from the east, where I live. And yes, that elevation takes some getting used to. Any idea what comes next in your life? Whatever it is, I have learned not to doubt you!!
Elevation is no joke. You'll adjust. :)
At age 73, my legs do that after 1 day off the trail 😂
Hi Stella, Do you carry bear spray?
When are you two getting married?
Why are you carrying a notebook?
Now, if the flat earthers are right, you should be able to look ENE and see Katahdin. (yuk yuk)
After two weeks of non-physical activity you start loosing muscle conditioning. It’s nuts at how fast our bodies change.
There is a passage of scripture in the bible that quotes "l am weak but He is strong". Ask God, lean on Him to lead guide and direct you through your journey.
WTF???!!!
Just because you're an almost Triple Crown thru-hiker....doesn't mean you're invincible!
Where's your hiking partner?
Where's your iNReach?
Where's your Bear Spray?
Where's your extra clothing, food and water??!!
