I miss watching your daily videos, they were a part of my morning routine. You've inspired me to seek out alpine lakes for backpacking adventures which mean I need to plan things outside of my home state of MA. What's your favorite alpine lake to backpack?
Awe thank you! I miss hiking and sharing everyday too 🥰 umm some of my favorites are in Northern California in the Trinity Alps wilderness. But Washington’s Alpine Lakes wilderness is also incredible as well as so many places in Colorado. If you’re looking in the Northeast, Maine has more lakes than I can even imagine!

Yeah I agree. I have to laugh when I hear anyone say the AT is the hardest. It's just so hard hiking from deli to the next. LOL.

@@robinfinehout1160 Goob is great. Also The Night Crawler Hikes. He is flip flapping the CDT, but boy does he film a lot. I don't think I have ever seen another UA-cam hiker film as much as he does. I also watch Rod Clemen on the CDT. He is not bad.
@@MaxZomboni we spend a lot of time in the Rockies camping, and used to live in Ft Collins, so the CDT has always been my favorite. We try to trail magic there. Thanks for the recommendations
Wh cares if they are a couple or not they made it through a tough journey together especially the whites..i live here and those mountains are horrific in tge rain or snow..im just happy they made it out safely...hope to see them in a future hike absolutely!!

Colorado fits you guys well... so the AT would seem better if you flip flopped I'd bet.. Too bad we didn't hear more from Leffe, because he is an interesting young man. The AT is all about knowing which sections to do based on weather and bugs... the Thru hiker concept is greatly flawed.... it does not prove much, other then one likes to suffer vs enjoying the day... hope you guys stay friends for life.

Since you like out-of-the-box questions, here is another one 😀 unlike on the AT, mountain bikes are allowed on most of the official CDT, but not in Wilderness areas. I wonder if you as a roll model 🥾master, would you ever consider bikepacking sections of the CDT?

Thanks for the helpful information on trail comparisons! I have enjoyed your thru-hiking videos, although this location was a little bittersweet for me. My Dad moved to LaPorte when he retired quite a few years ago. I visited him once or twice a year, and we would hike in Lory State Park, have dinner at the Mexican restaurant in Fort Collins, drive along the Poudre River, walk the bike path, or drive up into Estes Park, RMNP or Trail Ridge Road. I unfortunately lost him to cancer last fall, so this video has a very special meaning for me! It was nice to see that familiar view! ❤ Thank you, and I'm looking forward to your future hikes!

26:48 I don’t think people understand just how insanely valuable any act of kindness can be to a thruhiker. There are many great days out there but there are also many terrible days. A simple “good job” or any cheering on at all can easily change a bad day to good. A cold coke can make a bad week into a good one 😂. Any act of kindness at all feels like magic to a worn soul. Many people donate to keep the trails clean and clear. The hikers actually cheer on the trail maintenance people when we see them. It’s sooo appreciated. God I miss the trail. Time to plan another hike!

Awesome - My Son & I are going to be in that area later this week ! We have a couple of days to hike and get him acclimated before his YCC National Ultimate tournament in Aurora next weekend.

You spend your life questioning how others can do all these awesome things and all that time I/we had it in us the whole time. One step at a time turns into one mile at a time turns i to however far your awesome little feet’s want to take you. We have one life to live and I want to retire rich in memories.

I somehow subscribed while searching for hiking gear. Girl internet is interesting, all the comments are the same thing.
Hardest, easiest? That's simple. Easiest: AT. Lowest miles, lowest elevation, most delis, hostels, and huts. You can slackpack the entire AT if you want. Hardest: CDT. It's the exact opposite of the AT. 50% longer, elevation twice as high, and almost no hiker services. You are on your own on the CDT. The PCT is in the middle.

I thought for sure you were going to say your bug net was the most valuable piece of gear on the AT, but then again, hiking without a rain jacket would be just as miserable.
This was a great hiking video. It was really interesting to hear the three trails compared by someone who’s done large portions of all three.

Do you have any idea how much you spent on shuttles on the AT? I wanted to use a shuttler in PA for section hike but they wanted $100 to drive me 24 miles. That could add up fast.

quickly THE ONE YOU ARE ON. my answer to that question after completing PCT< CT
Good stuff - pretty much subjective, but that's how it is - still taken from on-the-ground experience. One thing that seemed to be missing, near the end of the video, is the historical significance of the A.T., and its partial connections with both the Crawford Path and the Long Trail, two of the oldest hiking trails in the country. And, the various difficulties and adversities on the final section of the A.T.(New Hampshire, Maine)will, in retrospect, be viewed as positives that you were able to overcome. You'll remember and ultimately cherish those challenges and carry them with you your entire lifetime. "We don't remember days - we remember moments."(Cesare Pavese). Be well, stay safe. 🥾
'The proximity effect' . . . the constant contact with 'nature', make you aware, humbles you and creates respect . . . 😜.
They all have their pros and cons. The A.T. is the hardest terrain to walk but easiest to re-stock and very social. The A.T. can also have the worst weather but that is not necessarily always the case.
The PCT has a faster walking pace and more diverse climates but is easier to walk than the A.T. It is also harder to re-stock.
The CDT is more wild, harder route finding and even more difficult to re-stock and far less people. It also has more dangerous wildlife.
Loved the comparisons of each trail, A video on how to make or what vegan/vegetarian resupply options would be awesome too, so happy for everything you’ve accomplished and loved the answers, I think vlogs like these are a good way to decompress after months of filming and hiking. Great job 👏
Loved all the life lessons learned but especially from the AT about fears and changing that mindset to curiosity - my biggest fear is camping alone at night so this will help me approach it with a different mindset. Thank you - love all your videos and your approach to life 💜
