In terms of evidential value, NDEs fair among the strongest phenomena against materialism

It was an interesting interview, but I just can't put much stock in people's subjective experiences and stories. How many people see aliens and talk about encounters with aliens? How credible are such stories? I'm sorry but there is far too high a margin of error when it comes to people's "experience"

Mike I’m so excited to learn about you and follow you , your teaching and debates! We’re you an alto or tenor player I’m guessing alto ? I’m kind of following in your footsteps at 70 yrs old 😇

I played both, Mike. But the alto seemed to be a more natural fit.

Mike thank you for replying I don’t usually comment on videos or anything online but it really feels pretty special to have a reply back from someone like yourself being so well-known! My wife and I are struggling with finding a church that isn’t a long drive and has a pastor with teachings like you. Around the corner from us is a Grace Baptist Church and pastor Montel Wilder is very committed to the Lord and gives lots of history along with reading the Bible from beginning to end for some reason I think a number of years back your name was brought up all for the good, but my problem, not my wife’s problem is he gets kind of loud and stern and it turns me in the other direction mainly because when I was young my father would yell at me of course when I did something wrong so I was rebellious especially as I grew older. My dad was a wonderful person and a great father but I wasn’t close to him and he has long since passed away. I was raised Catholic and my parents especially my mother were very devout. So to make my story longer I’ve gone on UA-cam and reviewed many of his sermons and trying to get over the loud and stern preaching and still having a difficult time. The other issue with me is belonging to the church they have mornings and evening service now I’m feeling guilty not going and also all the other mens night etc. What perspective should I take ? The music is hard for us again to listen to , not so much my wife , and I know it’s appropriate music ( I’m praying to get over this but it’s not the kick butt gospel it love) so after playing Coltrane , Mikes Davis, Charlie Parker etc on Saturday this makes things even more challenging Sunday. Any advice…. I want to look forward to church and be around God’s people but….. any thoughts? I can get everything but being around the people part online😇

Allison, one of the world's leading historical Jesus scholars, here dares to explore religious experiences all too often dismissed. Many of the experiences he reports startlingly question our secular preference to explain everything in purely naturalistic terms.

Im not sure why some want to put so much emphasis on NDEs etc. Such experiences happen in all cultures and all religions, so they say nothing about the uniqueness of Christianity, and as such should be taken with a pinch of salt. And of course NDE means youre not actually dead!

@REALGODJESUS Remember it's "Near Death" -- the point at which hallucinations and all sorts of weird brain activity happen.
