Wow, this helmet has it all......... But strikes out in the most important area? Integrated eye protection. The Leader SAR helmet is nice(I have one) This helmet has some cool features, However, it comes up short for a Tech Rescue helmet due to no integrated eye protection.
Hi Medic Mike, we do sell a visor that integrates with the rail system: www.teamwendy.com/products/helmets-accessories/parts-accessories/exfil-sar-visor
Please design a helmet that is similar to this in shape and option but is ansi certified. U would sell a ton of them. We need something better in the construction industry. Who needs hearing protection more? Who needs the ability to attach lights? The hats we use now fall of easily and are extremely hot. This style of helmet is used in europe for construction but very few companies manufacture in the us.
Now make a ballistic/crash helmet for EMS that looks mostly like this, meaning not so much like a combat helmet. In multiple colors. Most EMS fatalities are head injuries in crashes.
Military, Fire Departments, Law Enforcement, National Parks all have their own search and rescue teams which out number the volunteer teams. Then you also have many other counties with professional search and rescue teams. Finally lets not forget that people who care about their life will buy the best that they can get regardless of price. Then you also have those that rock climb, go caving, etc that also buy these types of helmets.
*"Military, Fire Departments, Law Enforcement, National Parks all have their own search and rescue teams which out number the volunteer teams."* That's not always the case. My SAR organization outnumbers our combined local park service, forest service, and sheriff's department SAR team by a ratio of roughly four to one.
I am on a DOD Tech Rescue team. I hear everything you say. Unfortunately for you your efforts brother are not respected. Paid fireman are even quick to complain about equipment and its costs. I spend quite a bit of my own money in order to get what I feel I need. I use the Leader SAR helmet. Great helmet, however, their support sucks. Thank you for your service.
Actually most are not volunteer. Anyway....they are high priced because the tax payer foots the bill. It's called either lack of oversight or corruption. If only certain band helmets are approved by OSHA is because some political fucker has stock in the business.
@@davidhefner5668 saying SAR is mostly professional glosses over the intricacies of the different types of SAR. If we're talking USAR or MSAR, they're both 100% professional, the former being operated by FEMA task forces, and the latter by the USCG. If we're talking wilderness SAR, then teams are almost universally volunteer. Even LE based teams are mostly volunteer, as the command staff might be career LE, but the ground pounders are mostly volunteer. There are a few exceptions; theres a handful of national parks that have their own SAR team, but most rely on the support of a volunteer team instead, and theres a couple all LE teams, however they have neither the man power nor the experience to respond in the capacity of the volunteer teams as they are only called to searches in their jurisdiction typically. Wilderness SAR is just not conducive to a paid profession because of the inconsistency of call outs.
Bought one for my daughter for rock climbing. There are additional colors available; so I bought her a green helmet. She loves it.
I would love one but they are way outside of my price range. Our team is 100% volunteer and we provide our own gear.
Interesting addition to helmets. Looks strong and versatile.
If this helmet would go through ANSI testing it would revolutionize the industry work at heights community.
joshua farrington Dont know if u have checked out the kask stuff. I agree tho. Lots of companies are requiring chin strap helmets
ANSI needs to update
It does look like a great helmet

Something like a tank crewman's helmet, but in public safety colors.
With the majority of sar teams being all vonluteer, how can a company justify such a rediculous price on gear?

Not ansi approved?
ACH and EN approved
For 1,545.70 US OR 1938.62 CANADIAN plus tax plus shipping it better be good.
I was like I'm going to go buy one then seen the 800+ lol
The backcountry helmet is $180
800?? Mine was shipped for 301$ I had extras as well
You probably saw a ballistic helmet. Those are much more expensive for obvious reasons.
