Wheres the copenhagen and speed tape? In all seriousness, I am a 130 Rescue guy, but I still carry a Garmin inReach with me. I use it personally for offshore fishing and hiking around the world, but it is extra piece of mind for work. I also find my Garmin Fenix watch to be a huge SA tool. They were actually able to determine that one of the USMC F18 pilots that went down near Oki was alive for 9 hours after ditching overwater from the data collected by his watch. I think we should all have them and luckily my squadron is working on getting them issued to us. Great video!
Haha. When you threw your ditch bag aside at the beginning, I was reminded of my friend Ken when he was building his Quickie self-built aircraft. I was over at his house in his garage one day where he was doing the work. He picked up the fuel level sensing mechanism that went into the Quickie's gas tank and sent info about the gas level to the cockpit. It looked like a relatively sensitive, perhaps even delicate, mechanism. After he was done explaining it's operation to me, I was somewhat shocked to see him toss the mechanism across the room onto a pile of other parts. I made a mental note at the time that maybe it wasn't such a hot idea to fly with Ken in his new aircraft, given the casual and perhaps even rough way he was treating potentially critical components. By the way, shortly after the plane was completed, something went wrong with the aircraft and Ken crashed.
This is so awesome! can you do a video on a survival bag that maybe a civilian can utilize as well? assuming we do run out of everything like everyone is panicking for? I know toilet paper and paper towels are a must but I missed that window LOL
found another favorite channel. Subscribed! currently talking to an Air Force recruiter I would really love to go in as a Special Missions Aviator to join SAR
a 25 cal hand weapon , a super good knife ,granola bars, and a space blanket I know I know it's rescue but that's me or I should I say it was the NAM 1/9 air cav
What would you guys take with you as Search and Rescue gear on a SAR call with you?

Always had an empty gatorade bottle I remember.
Thank you for your service!

Well done, greetings from a dutch ground sar volunteer
An emergency signal mirror w/retro reflective aimer might be a good addition to your ditch bag.
great video really gives me some awesome ideas to make my own :)
Raptor leatherman pretty good
Knee pad, small flashlight, multi-tool, power-bank, rag, T-wrap, water, plastic bag, This is what I fly with in addition to issued gear.

Could you tell some story’s from your days as an Airr guy, just got my contract would love to here your perspective on it
Just got my contract too, what date are you shipping off? I leave In july
Great Idea! Might do one on my latest rescue.
is anything in this bag an issued item or all hand picked?
You show a fliers reference book. What is the name or exactly what it is.
It's type model specific. It's a pocket checklist for the MH-60S aircraft for emergency procedures.
What is a recommended SAR helmet? I see many types but like to hear from the pros
Team Wendy or Ops-Core bump helmets
Where do you buy all this stuff?
Who makes your backpack?
I can't remember, I don't have that one any more, but I do have a new one. I should do an updated video.
Where the gun ?? Ex seach and rescue here some think we have guns
