I have the FCA AMPS headset. It comes with the helmet mount setup also. I have only used them with the headband so far, but they seem to work great. I use the FCS V20 PTT and the Kenwood radio adaptor. I use them for digital coms. Everything has been working for about 6 months with a lot of use. I want to get a TW bump and the Unity Tactical Platform adaptors and see how they work. I know I have gone cheap with some things, but I have been lucky as they work well. EDIT: This video is great. I learned a lot from both the video,, and the comment section as to the little problems that people have. VERY informative. Thank you all so much.
Hey man I really appreciate it and I’m glad the video helped out. Don’t worry about getting what you can afford, at least you’re training with it. Thanks for commenting and watching!
Do you have any wiggle/slop/play between the ops core arms and the TW rail using the UT adapter plates? My setup is the same as yours to a TW 3.0 rail and with the screw bottomed out, tight, there's enough wiggle there to allow the adapters to slide in the TW rail. Emailed UT about this, they asked for photos, I sent a video, no response since 5/20/22.
When the arms are popped out I can move the adapter plates from the top to the bottom of the slot with slight pressure. Which happens naturally rotating the arms from ear to stowed positions.
Hey man, So on their website it says it’s supposed to fit rails 1.0-3.0. The only thing I can think of is that, I had something similar happen, but all I had to do was take the adaptors out and then put them back in and tighten them down. I know that’s not the best answer, but if they’re not engaging, there is a chance that they are not seated properly. If you find a solution post it back down in the comments, because I’m sure someone else will experience the same thing!
@@SS-po1fd Did you get any answer from Unity Tactical on this? I've got the same rail/adapter/arms and also have some wiggle. Not a ton and I could probably live with it but I worry it could become worse as time goes on. I heard some other folks say the same thing happened with the Team Wendy adapter which is why I picked the Unity option.
Hey guys, I just wanted to point out that I did make a mistake in this video. The arms that snap onto the ear cups are upside down. All you have to do is rotate to 180 degrees from what you guys see in the video and then the ear pro will be correct. Thanks again for watching!
Did you reverse your opscore adapter arms? Compared to online photos they look reversed on your helmet. Hard for me to describe. But if you type in opscore rail mounts and look at the photos your look upside down if you look at them
That’s a good question! To my knowledge the AMP arms will only fit the AMP headset. I’ll look around though because I’m sure other companies are making products that are compatible.
Thank you! Those are the ones that come with it. Comfort wise they're great, i haven't noticed a huge difference between the two. The modularity between throwing them on my helmet or switching them to the headband is super convenient.
I paid 100$ for the Ops-Core AMP mount, and when it arrived, I noticed it was missing some articulation...And the OpsCore symbol... I need to pay more attention next time...
Trever did you purchase the same adapters? If so, I had to mess around with the screw that goes in it, and work the arms back and forth pretty forcefully at first. Maybe the screw is too tight also. Let me know if this helps or not!
This one is actually a cheap one off of Amazon from OneTigris. It’s actually held up really well doing static line jumps. It’s been pretty durable for the low price tag!
So far, works great outdoors! Works good for shooting or around/loud aircraft. However if you’re shooting indoors at a range, you probably want plugs for underneath. They are very comfortable, even when wearing them for a long period of time.
I recently acquired a TW exfil ballistic and I ordered the unity adapter for my amp. does this unity adapter hold the ear pro arms in place as intended or are there issues regarding the ruggedness?
If you got the MARK for the AMP ear pro it should be fine. I have not used that specifically, but the attachments have held up fine through multiple trainings I’ve been through. Let us know how you like them!
Went to Gentex Corporation to order my set up and came across some options i wasn't to sure of. What did you run on your set up out of the following and/or what would you recommend? Mono Binaural Downlead, Monaural Downlead, or Stereo Downlead. And also in 21" or 27"?
Hey my man, i'll tell you what was issued to me. But, I'm not smart enough to know the difference on some of this gear. So I got the Mono Binaural U174 Downlead Cable. With a 21" length. I also have the PTT radio adapter cable #4kk81. If I can answer any more questions, just let me know!
21” is standard and just the right amount of cable IMO if you’re running a radio on your plate carrier. I would not recommend the monaural cable as it only sends audio to the earcup it’s plugged into. This is more specialized towards guys running two radios and two separate PTTs. The stereo cable is used in conjunction with a stereo PTT (expensive) and not typically with your Civ side PTTs like Disco32 or CGS ptts. It allows the use of two radios plugged into a single stereo PTT and routes comms into each earcup separate from one another. Mono binaural is the version I currently use and it feeds sound into both earcups wether you’re using one radio, two radios and one dual ptt, or two radios and two separate ptts. It’s user preference. IMO most of us buying these cables for small unit comms should opt towards the mono binaural bc i want sound in both my ears. Hope that’s helps anyone else trying to decide on the correct opscore downlead cable.
Hi I was wondering how well the earpro fits with those wendys straps going over your ears? Or do those straps push up above/over the earcups? No one seems to talk about this but it looks really uncomfortable and also bad for noise cancelation.
That’s a great question. So it may differ for other people, but I have not noticed any issues. I’ve jumped out of planes with these on and no shifting or seal breakage. The only time I notice any issues is when I don’t have a proper cheekweld and they bump the earcups. Other than that the straps aren’t even noticeable in my opinion. Hope this helps!
And you’re using the unity mark platform adapter? You may need to mess around with it a bit. However be careful. I stripped the screw and my arms are now attached to the helmet for good. For sure don’t over tighten it.
@@paparomeoproductions5956 yes I'm using the unity because the one I got from team wendy also sucks. I've done my messing around with it and it's just not a secure design, it's not like mlok where it actually secures, it's just plastic that can be slid with force.
To my knowledge no. There may be an adapter out there, but I’m not aware of it. There are notches on the sides of each ear cup that the arms click into for the AMP headset. While the peltor’s have two nubs.

so quick question, I've just set up my helmet and they seem sit odd. like it feels like they sit too high is that just a case of the springs are new and just stiff?
I noticed that on mine too man. You have to play with it to get that adjustment right. It's scary when you pay a lot of money for something, but don't be afraid to pull and adjust the lengths of the ear cups and the angle of the swivels to make it fit properly. It took me a couple attempts to get them where they pop in and out, and rotate properly. I just did a few static line jumps with them, and they stayed in place perfect.
i recently got these on my team wendy helmet aswel, but i noticed after a bit of use, and i go to stow then they seem to dangle and the screw seems to loosen the amp headset. Not sure if its user error or.
Honestly I would take them off and put them back on again, if you got that adapter kit from unity tactical it should work. Mine have stayed on without any issues. Hope this helps!
Same problem here. I've installed exactly the same way(can't really mess it up), but the screw seems to bottom out and not really feel like its tightened at all. It wiggles and slides on the rails.. TW 3.0 rails.
@@paparomeoproductions5956 They are fully compatible with the rails.. The design is shit is the problem. Its a screw threaded into a plastic (thinner) hole.
