@TV-94 funny thing is the CIS had a second subjugator class heavy cruiser called the devestator, think of the eclipse but smaller and not as powerful also the super weapon portion made up the majority of the ship and was powered by force energy, it was going to corrusant to reek havok imagine if it made it there.
If I would get to name a Subjugator, I'd call it the Medusa, because comparing the ion cannon with Medusa's head seems quite legitimate. Greek mythology namesakes also seem to be accepted, with the Chimera now being canon.
I would name mine the Phantom of Osiris, because when you are claimed by Osiris, the Egyptian death god, you are paralyzed and basically screwed. I believe this is the perfect embodiment of what a Subjugator class does.
If I got a Subjugator, I would call it Elizabeth. Because... *"She's a Killer Queeeen!* *Gunpowder, gelatine;* *Dynamite with a laser beam;* *Guaranteed to blow your mind!"*
the ion cannon on the subjugator is set to expand after it fires and actually reaches some thing about the size of the first death star before it collapses in on it self and fizzles out
The Confederacy had a very formidable Navy, they just lacked in stability. The Republic ships were more strong in their build, but overall the Separatist Navy is my favourite especially the Providence :)
From what I can tell, the Seppie ships are much more fragile than the Republic's but are able to deal damage at a much longer range. The Muunificent has an ultraheavy ion cannon and turbolaser near the bow, allowing it to engage long before a Venator is able to fire.
@@nickkurzy2246 the separatists also had a consistent numbers and production advantage for the entire duration of the war. A few lost ships didn't matter to them, but the republic couldn't afford to throw away ships
To answer your questions: 1 A Subjugator would make a huge difference in Coruscant, wiping out a lot of the republic forced at once. 2 The eclipse would win. No doubt about it. Even if the Subjugator fired first like Han, the eclipse is just too durable for the Subjugator to do much. That armor is so powerful, it can be successfully used as a battering ram. Also, it would likely recover quickly. 3 a cool name for a Subjugator could be: Jedi's Bane
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
The Invisible Hand was a simple Providence class not a dreadnought, it was shorter than a Venator, it packed some firepower but not as much as a dreadnought
@Hi there (Hello there) Just hyperspace close to the bridge and fire the ion cannon at it. The ship is officially done for. Or you could just take an X-Wing and hyperspace through the bridge, since apparently FTL ramming is a thing now...
The older less powerful guns couldn’t inflict much damage on the eclipse even if it didn’t have shielding. The eclipse has a strong enough hull to survive TurboLaser shots without shielding.
If the ship was bow on to the Eclipse and the Eclipse was showing broadside then the Subjugator could turn just enough to fire on the Eclipse's stern to knock out its engines then turn the other way and fire the other Ion blast at the bow where the superlaser was located, effectively taking out the ship.
I think that the Subjugator would try to first engage at long range with the Ion cannon i think it would take 3-5 shots of the cannon to disable the Eclipse, once she would be disabled i think the Subjugator would close distance and engage with her turbo lasers while taking an Ion cannon shot every so often to keep the Eclipse disabled.
Also lets not forget that the Subjugator has droid fighters which would cut the Eclipse's to shreds and could then be used to attack the Eclipse itself
The weapons on the droid fighters would be essentially useless against a monster of a supercapital like the Eclipse. I find it beyond doubtful that the ion cannon would be able to do anything but break the Eclipse's shields-... and the Malevolence would be a one hit kill for the bow superlaser-... or would be horribly crippled by a single hit.
CIS has my favorite Navy in Star Wars. Subjugators during the Battle of Coruscant could have potentially wiped out the whole Coruscant Defense Fleet with a few ion blasts & definitely would've made a difference if they could line up flotillas of Republic ships, especially whole Republic fleets entering the system grouped together to assist in the defense like the Open Circle Fleet. With Subjugators present the CIS might have flat won the battle (Without Palp interfering) & I think if one did 1v1 against the Eclipse it would smash it. One ion blast plus the heavy shielding it has and the Eclipse is toast. As for the name of my Subjugator ship I'd name it either The Grim Gator because it kinda looks like an Alligator, or The Grim Goblin because it looks very very similar to a goblin shark. Look it up, it's weird.
Remember the CIS had way more Subjugator-Class dreadnoughts. I completely agree with you. I also think that if Palpatine died on the invisible hand, the CIS would have wiped the floor with the Republic.
Subjugater cruiser is the best ship and super weapon in my opinion. The only reason why it got destroyed was because the force demanded it and they had the chosen one
I would name my Subjugator the Rising Darkness because the Subjugator’s ion cannon basically “turns out the lights” on any Republic capital ship it targets.
The malevolence had many turbolasers. Saying it had very few lasers is like saying New York City is tiny. The Malevolence had enough turbolasers to hold its own even if the ion guns weren't present. It had enough to trouble even a Star Destroyer with ease.
Can ion cannons get through an atmosphere? Because the Subjator's main gun could also affect the buildings and first responders. The civilian casualty count would have been higher if one was there.
Alverant I would assume not, but that depends on how weak the atmosphere is and how strong the gun is. This gun is not unlike solar flares, a large basically ring of intense electrical energy flying out from a source. Earth's atmosphere, depending on the flare, usually absorbs and dissipates the energy with very little reaching the surface (worst case scenario with the weaker ones, electrical machinery will shutdown and need a reboot). That said, a strong blast could incinerate anything it touches once it gets through.
I would name my Subjicator-class Dreadnaut *Shadow of Conclusion* I would name it this because of this: Your a Republic Admiral that has just arrived at the subjicator's coordinates. It is a massive and intimidating ship that blocks out the pale blue light of the moon it eclipses. Your ships all move toward it but you see as the ship grows larger and larger each second. Suddenly the ion gun charges up and in an intense flash of white and magenta light, a massive clump of plasma overtakes and overloads your ships. You are helpless. You can do nothing. Your crew is afraid. This shadow of a ship draws closer and closer to you. It is so massive it casts a massive shadow over your helpless ships. It is at this moment when the subjicator fires it's cannons upon you, you know that it's shadow was the shadow of your conclusion. IDK. I was thinking of Covanant ships from halo when naming it. Specifically the ship "Shadow of Intent" from Halo 3. Rtas Vadame's capital ship.
I have the same problem with teh CIS ships as I do with X-Wings and other starfighters in which a astromech droid mounts in it. If you are making a ship for a druid crew, why not build the mechanics into the ship itself, with a much smaller compliment of task specific droids for repair, firefighting etc.... Not only could the ships me much smaller, but reducing it's size would come with a weight savings which could be put into armor and weapons to make it more powerful and tougher, and also probably faster and more maneuverable. An added final bonus would be that if the ship be captured a human/alien crew couldn't man and operate it.
Well, due to the severe limitations on droid sentience (to prevent disobedience and droid rebellions) an organic presence is required to issue orders, which means the larger ships at least would need to have room for organics, and using actual droids for menial tasks inside the already highly automated ships reduces the need for *as many* organics and the logistical problems that come with us meatbags. Most Separatist starfighters were automated fully, however, as were several ground "vehicles" such as the Tank Droid, Octoputarra Tri-Droid, Hailfire Droid and Spider Droid. The Separatist navy did heavily rely on what your saying, which is why it was capable of churning out literal hundreds of Munificant classes in I forget if it's a day or a week, much less the tens of millions of starfighters and ground units. Whenever a vehicle in the Confederate military had room for a crew, it was to accommodate the NECESSARY organic commanders.
I like the eclipse and malevolence, but I think the eclipse would win because the malevolence cannon wouldn't make it all the way from head to bow( it was about 20 km long) and the eclipse could use its super laser. And even if the malevolence was able to knock it out, the momentum would push the eclipse into the malevolence and using its blade like front, cut eight through it just because of its immense mass compared to the malevolence
If the subjugator class was available at the Battle of Coruscant then it would change quite a bit. It seems likely that Grievous would want to command from this powerful vessel. If so then the duel with Dooku still happens and he is killed. Anakin, Obi-wan and Palpatine are again caught trying to escape and brought to the bridge ( because Grievous is an idiot). They escape and kill off the bridge crew or force them to flee. Grievous probably escapes though. Now things would diverge as the subjugator is likely to be in much better shape given how durable and massive it is compared to other CIS ships and it will likely still have its Ion cannons operational. Grievous will not abandon ship and would probably go to or establish a Secondary Bridge whilst trying to lock down the main bridge and scrambling the ships complement of Battle Droids to hunt down the fugitive Jedi and the Chancellor. Anakin and Obi wan will probably head for the escape pods or try to reach a nearby hanger to get off the ship. Its likely though that they are cornered and overwhelmed at some point by the ships legions of Battledroids or end up being shot down as they attempt to flee the ship. With the Chancellor dead, Grievous would have achieved the missions operational goal and begin to pull back along with the rest of the CIS fleet using the huge Ion discharges to blow holes in the Republic fleet. The CIS are still battered but escape with many more ships intact and have scored a huge psychological boost for the Separatist cause albeit having lost their head of state in the process. For the Republic its a humiliation and quite a blow to the Jedi order, having lost the 'chosen one' and Obi wan Kenobi. On the other hand, for the Sith Order it means their extinction as both Darth Sidious and Darth Tyrannus are now dead. The war would remain up in the air as to the final outcome now...
Great video. I only recently started watching your videos, so this one feels simpler in presentation, but the analysis is just as good. My Subjugator-class heavy cruiser: the Just Cause.
And it was almost destroyed by a ship with 10 turbolasers Press X to shame (I only say this because it is assumed than the Providence was created specificaly to counter the Venator)
Nice video dude! To answer all 3 questions then: 1: I bet a couple Venator class star destroyers would be disabled by the ion cannons, then eviscerated by the Subjugator's turbolasers and those of other Separatist vessels, although the Republic fleet, regardless of whether Anakin and Obi-Wan are present, would get their act together and find a countermeasure, ie flank w/ fighters and some Star Destroyers then hammer it till it goes boom; 2: If it went up against an Eclipse-class Super Star Dreadnought, then either the ion cannon would only fizzle the Eclipse a bit, given how it's 3-and-something times bigger than a Subjugator, or the Eclipse just charges up the Superlaser, and end of story; 3: I'd name my Subjugator the "Burner", because such an ion cannon and turbolaser complement could burn through enemy ships in the right hands(mine!)
I would name my ship Malevolence :D Also I think if the Eclipse took a shot from the Ion cannon,it could recover and just blow the Subjugator out of the sky.
Subjagator vs Eclipse 3 scenarios- eclipse pulls it out of hyperspace with gravity well then rams it before they load ion canon. Eclipse sees Subjagator and decimates it with canon barrage or super lazer. Subjagator fires first- 2 ways it'll go either it turns off 2/3 of the Eclipse and it simply uses all still working canons to at least make crew of Subjagator panic or they turn it off completly but then realise that this ship is practicly indestructable and it just gets power back after some time.
If I had an eclipse class star destroyer, I would call it Looming Presence. Why I chosen that name was because the eclipse is pitch black in color almost blending in with the vacuum of space. Looming means to appear shadowy or dark while being enormous and threatening. The Eclipse is a perfect embodiment of that definition. On top of that it could destroy entire fleets of starships by itself.
Finally someone who respects TPM! Good to know I'm not alone! Really good video btw! I fully agree with all positions especially the malevolence! I think in the battle over courscant the malevolence would have a big impact on the republic fleet however the separatists were vastly outnumbered and with so many venator class star destroyers they would have enough firepower and starfighters to destroy it. Also it wouldn't change the outcome of the mission because all the Republic needed to do was get enough support and time for obi wan and anakin to get to the invisible hand and rescue the Chancellor. And if the malevolence tried to fire at obi wan and anakin it would need to reposition itself to do so which would be tricky and by the time it had done that the Jedi would have spotted it and if it did fire directly at them they would be able to evade it! If the malevolence went up against the eclipse I think it would be an matter of whoever fires first but if the malevolence did fire first I think it may not have an affect on the eclipse due to its shields and aurmour!
The purpose of the ship is to freeze the enemy so they cant do anything. Ragnarock is destruction. Sorry to spoil it but it can be called either thor or the frost ship. Im not the best with some names.
If I were given a Separatist Subjugator Cruiser I would name it "The Crusher" because this class of ship had the potential to crush or destroy any and all ships in it's path.
Eclipse wins, hands down. One shot from it's superlaser would either cripple or outright vaporize a Subjugator. After all, it is a scaled down version of the Death Star's weapon, and Subjugators are only around 5 miles long. Huge as starships go, but small when compared to a city or continent.
Yes, but the ion cannon of the subjugator class would charge significantly faster than the eclipse’s super laser, and due to its size and lack of maneuverability there is no chance the eclipse would be able to avoid the ion cannon, in this fight it’s size is a weakness
One shot of the malfincant will stop qn eclipse so it maters how the ships are placed. Front front eclipse wins. Side side malficant wins. Most of the time the malficant is faced on its side against its enemys even when warping.
while i have always been very critical of star wars ship designs as someone who enjoys realistic and functional designs, i have always loved the CIS warships. their skeletal appearance, high degree of automation and ease of production would, in my mind, suit them well to comprising a large, powerful fleet to be fielded by a faction that cannot afford lots of crew and material in the construction and operation of their ships. their munificent class was an excellent and versatile design with moderate hull protection and a powerful prow cannon capable of punching above it's weight. it's combination of point defense lasers and anti-capital ship turbolaser turrets (a practical scheme common with separatist warships) gave it a versatile combination of offensive and defensive weaponry. it could even carry a few starfighters, although it lacked the dedicated hanger of a larger warship, and could not refuel vulture droids, fighters noted for their limited fuel. the recusant class destroyer is one of my favorite star wars ship designs ever. it possessed a powerful (for it's size) frontal cannon, and a notable array of laser and turbolaser turrets for engaging fighters and warships alike. it's shields and armor were adequate for their size, but their real focus was on speed and firepower. they were quite fast ships, and would likely be excellent heavy raiding ships for disrupting enemy supply lines. this capability is enhanced further by their ability to carry a significant number of fighters into battle, and rearm and refuel them with a dedicated hanger. the providence class (most accurately classified as a small battlecruiser) was an excellent and versatile warship with a balance of firepower (including a large number of missile based weapons, a rare feature on star wars ships,) armor and shields, and relatively good speed for their size. they had modest carrier capabilities for their size, and would overall be an effective flagship for a small, mobile task force. my only complaint is the exposed bridge present on many star wars ships. the lucrehulk is not a warship. it is a freighter converted into a makeshift battleship, and poorly so. it could not focus it's firepower effectively, and lacked effective anti-fighter weaponry. this latter drawback was partially compensated for by the fact that it's status as a battleship is... arguably a misnomer. i consider this ship to be more of a carrier than an effective warship. as a matter of fact, this ship was an excellent carrier, and while i would refit these ships to possess more anti-fighter weaponry, and equip them with a greater number of bombers to allow them to effectively launch fighter strikes against enemy warships with a greater degree of effectiveness, they are otherwise perfectly acceptable flagships for a carrier task force. the subjugator... this is a ship i want to like. it has an aesthetic design i like, an impressive amount of durability, surviving sustained fire from multiple venators even after it's shields had been disabled (durability is something i value in an expensive flagship, more so than in smaller, more expendable warship.) while it's ion cannons are seemingly impressive, i feel like this ship relies too heavily on them. any opponent encountering this ship more than once will know to spread out their fleet sufficiently to minimize the effects of the weapon, and the ship's other weaponry is rather lacking for it's size. fleets spreading out to counter the ion cannon doesn't happen on screen because star wars space battles are planned by movie directors with no knowledge or interest in tactics or even common sense. the ion cannon is large, un-wieldly, vulnerable to attack and useless in a close quarters fleet battle, battles which appear to be very common in the star wars universe. if i were to redesign the subjugator, i would replace it's ion cannons with large starfighter hangers armored with thick, retractable blast doors. i would then use the huge quantities of excess energy available from the removal of the ion cannon to support a significantly increased armament, as well as more powerful shielding to bolster it's already impressive defenses, including extra shielding dedicated to protecting the structural weak point that the hangers create (although arguably the ion cannon was a similar weak point in the original design.)
Saw this video for the first time today. I have to say, it's a pretty good summation of the ships. A couple of nitpicks though. First. That pic at 4:15 is actually a sorosuub dauntless class cruiser. That pic is the one on the wookipedia page for that class. I know it's difficult to get pics for bulwarks, believe me I know, so I don't begrudge the almost certainly honest mistake there. Next, the providence. The standard variant is the just over 1km version. The 2 km Dreadnought version was the very rare version. Grievous's Invisible Hand was modified by having more hangar space. It is implied in the Legends ICS that these modifications were primary intended to improve the flagship in a planetary assault role. It's worth noting that the providence elsewhere seems to be more of a fleet carrier/destroyer like the venator. As far as subjugators go, the ion cannon is probably a liability. Sure, it's a very useful weapon and can turn the tides of battle when used correctly, but it just doesn't seem to be a proper investment in the clone wars scenario. In the TV series, we don't see that kind of massive fleet on fleet action that the subjugator would be ideal for. A flanking attack by that ion cannon in such a fleet action would be devastating. But in the squadron style battles, such a large ship not focused on being a conventional dreadnaught is liable to get outflanked pretty quickly. That's how the Malevolence bit the dirt in the first place. Unsupported, big ships are prey to smaller but more numerous ones. As for a name? Nothing that fits with the class theme. Also, I'd like to make a general observation on your ship videos, especially the versus ones. Ships cannot be simplified into RPG stats like firepower, shielding and so on. Ships are a helluva a lot more complicated. In star wars, I'd like to consider things like cost, maintainability, ability to upgrade systems, refueling requirements, cargo capacity for crew essentials, and so on. These would be considerations for a navy looking to buy a new class of ship, but wouldn't necessarily affect a one on one skirmish. Other than that, there are many factors that would affect the battle itself. What are the sensors like? How accurate are the guns and gunners? Is fire control centrally or locally managed? What about alpha arc of the weapons? How effective is damage control? Etc. Of these, alpha arc is important. In real world naval ships till missiles came to play, the term was broadside, how many guns could you point at the same target at one time. This is something almost no video about star.wars ships talk about. Consider the CIS ships in this video. They are all, like the rebel ships in the OT, very defensive in their gun arcs. They're pointed every which way. The wedge shaped republic and empire ships offer a chance at focusing all the firepower at one target. This does a lot to determine how that ship fights. A Venator or an imperial star destroyer, with its forward focused firepower would do a lot better at a duel against a similar tonnage ship simply because it's able to focus fire at the same ship with more guns. The rebel mon cal cruisers or the CIS boats would be better in a rolling fleet action, where each ship can shoot multiple ships at once, and support each other very effectively. In that same scenario, the star destroyer series would be forced to engage in one on one duels before they can move on to the next ship. The question of doctorine seems to be missing from your videos, and frankly I would have liked to see a lot more about that side of things. Admiral Akbar's order to get closer to the Endor fleet may have been more than a desperate last stand and more of a working tactic. We must avoid the temptation to reduce ships to ATK and DEF stats. If star wars was the real world, what could I do with the ship? What tactics are ideal for this particular combination of speed, shielding and firepower? Is the ship a glass cannon that can do hit and run or a battlewagon of yore, slugging it out heavy turbolaser to heavy turbolaser? Its such a rich universe and I feel that so much of these videos could be just....more? Anyway, I apologise for the rant. I'd be happy to discuss star wars with you if you ever feel like dropping a line. You make fun videos and it's been a pleasure watching them. Good luck for all your future videos. I look forward to watching them.
Great question, I think if a Subjugator class was at the Battle of Coruscant it would have certainly changed the tied. I think the Republic would have come out on top due to shear numbers and orbital defense platforms and the like, but there would have been a hell of a lot of Venators getting wrecked before that happens. The big advantage is that the battle was so tight that one blast could catch several Venators. The only issue with that is due to it being so tight they would also end up catching a lot of Seppie ships as well. As for the Eclipse I think the Eclipse comes out on top. I assume it would have the durability to last through barrage post ion attack, its fighter compliment would be able to do considerable damage and likely give the Eclipse more than enough time to get back online at least the turbo lasers
A Subjugator over Coruscant would be able to deal lots of damage, but considering that Anakin has already had experience in destroying one, I would say it would've been destroyed at some point in the battle. However, it would no doubt disable a large portion of the Republic fleet, as all the ships were battling in close quarters. Anyways, congratz on your new sponsor!
That Ion cannon in the Battle of Coruscant would probably not only fuck up the Republic ships, but if it pointed the trajectory toward the planet, a pretty big portion of the planet would get fucked up as well.
Btw on paper the Eclipse has the edge. It's got 10 gravity well projectors and numerous turbolasers and ion cannons, not to mention that forward mounted superlaser that packs a punch despite being less powerful than that of the Death Star. It's also worth mentioning the durasteel hull plating that is so thick, the Eclipse can ram any vessel without taking damage at all. Even if a Subjugator can disable it, it doesn't stop the 17,5km vessel from ramming the Subjugator. In practice however, we'll have to leave it to our own opinions.
With its size though, would the eclipse ever be able to get into a position to be able to ram it? The comparative manoeuvrability of the Subjugator (personally I think) gives it an edge, in ideal conditions. i say ideal conditions because all it would take is one mistake for the Eclipse to, well, eclipse the Subjugator
I must say, if Star Wars Rebellion on PC is Canon; you have done the Bulwark a great disservice! Those things go toe to toe with SSD's! (And that last shot of it was a Dauntless Cruiser! - From Rebellion!) Anyway, love your videos.
It would be awesome to have a lucrehulk as a house, you could have droid security and fighters to fight off pirates, and you could have the biggest penthouse suite in the galaxy, fit it with your own bar, shopping mall and a entire community of your buddies living in it, you could probably put a entire towns worth of stuff in it, have your own independent moving community with jobs and droid ran factories to build goods, and then fly to different systems as a kind of pop up shopping mall lol
You say the Malevolence didn't have that many turbo lasers, yet I distinctly remember it having a rows and rows of turbo lasers all shoulder to shoulder in "Shadow of Malevolence" from Clone Wars. It would rain lasers at its disabled prey.
Hello Eckhart. Your videos are OK, but you really need to do better research before you talk about the size of some ships. The providence is nowhere near 2km in size
Actually....There was a variant of the providence class that was 2km long. One of them was the ship that Admiral Trench used in the episode " Cat and Mouse ", The Invincible, in Star wars The Clone Wars
I would have to call my subjugator-class heavy cruiser, 'The apocalypse'. Imagine a Rebublic captain watching this ship bear down on them after a successful enemy ion hit. Only to radio his crew "Get to the escape pods, the apocalypse is coming..."
I would squeal/faint/jump and pump my fist in the air whether I be a CIS meatbag or a clanker and take 150 milliseconds to immediately name my baby; "Salvation through Nirvana" for its presence in any system will bring peace to Separatist sympathizers while striking terror into the Republic dogs. As a side note, another name for my former CIS flagship would be "Peace through Power!"
CIS fleets we're so beautiful varied in ship make-up. That was the thing that always bugged me about The Clone Wars series: all we ever saw the Republic fighting with were Venators and the odd Acclamator when sieging a planet. What I would have given to see more of the Republic rollin' with their Venators (or even a few Victories for spice) backed up by Dreadnoughts and more Arquitens & C70 Chargers... Something something something budget restrictions.
No, she has nothing on the Eclipse. The ion cannons power depends on your ship having more power than your opponent. The Eclipse is literally a giant armored reactor to power it's weapons and super laser. The ion pulse would do next to nothing to the ship while it's peppered to literal death by the thousands of turrets on board, not even adding the Eclipses hangars or super laser into consideration
Bonker 46 nope,it would depend if who fires first,if the... Eclipse fires,it could damage the malevolence so much, but if... The malevolence fires,it would shut the eclipse off,but i have no idea if the eclipse have a back up generator
I swear that there was a multitude of lazers on the subjugator. So really, it wouldn't need the ion cannon. I'm pretty sure it could take out an imperial-class star destroyer without its cannon. Not to mention that it can take an extensive amount of punishment and still be operational
Since the battle of Corasant as we saw it involved very little tactical positioning of ships, the subjugator class ship may be destroyed by the overwhelming ammount of capital ships, but if used with an escort the ship could be incredibly deadly in the opening half of a battle. A subjugator escorted with 8 long range ships, 15 munificent class ships and 3 providence (including the invisible hand). the long range ships would stay back and fire on the republic blockade causing negligable damage but provoking the blockade to advance, once the ion ray was fired the munificent class ships could move in formation and rip apart any affected. Once a large portion of the blockage is destroyed, two providence class ships could stay with the subjugator to protect it and provide fighter support since bombers are it's main weakness. The rest of the fleet lead by the invisible hand could move in formation destroying all the remaining ships until the ion weapon charges again and neutralises more ships to soon be ripped apart. This would divert the republic and force them to try and destroy the massive ship, allowing the rest of the CIS fleet to take advantage and destroy the few capital ships left behind to combat the fleet.
I'd call it "Pride" since they're pretty much the pinnacle of CIS Weapons development with the Giant pulse cannon in the center, making it a prideful moment for CIS engineering
The Munificent is the best, it's reasonably shielded and has a ton of weaponry for a frigate. It also had some of the most advanced electronic warfare capabilities of the time. For it's role as an escort ship, it was dependable and versatile and could serve flawlessly with other larger, more powerful ships in the CIS navy. As a support ship with the aid of a Lucrehulk or Providence, it could fend off most Republic attacks.
USS Retribution or USS Ret for short. I got the name from cod infinite warfare, the exact name of the UNSA Command Carrier. I love the name Retribution and that's why I would use the name
Considering the vast battlefield over Coruscant and the fact that the Subjugator needs time to recharge, I think it would've been overwhelmed and destroyed almost immediately. It can't be at the rear of the invasion fleet because it risks heavy friendly fire, so it'd need to be on its own. Looking at how dense the combat was, I'd say it would be easy for a venator or a squadron of bombers to take it out. It's first blast could potentially allow the separatists to gain an edge in the initial stages of the battle, but I believe that ultimately, it wouldn't make much of a difference
The Eclipse has a near Deathstar class super laser. I feel like that firepower and range would give it an edge as long as it was able to engage at distance- I also can't believe that a single ion pulse or EM pulse could disable all systems on a ship that size (Assuming that had things like fusable links and separate, redundant, and widely separated power generators). Just my $.02..
I think the Subjugator main weapon would be ineffective against the Eclipse for just one reason, Imperial ships carried a ton of redundant systems, meaning it would be able to knock out several systems... but after a brief moment the backup systems would engage, negating the damage.
I personally would name my Subjugator the "Silencer," mostly because of the ion cannon. The most literal connection I can make between the name and the weapon is if a Republic Star Destroyer was sending a distress signal as the ion cannon fired, the transmission could be silenced before it even finishes.
The Eclipse might be so massive that a glancing blow from the ion cannon(at short range since it expands the longer it travels) might only knock out some major subsystems, but not the whole ship. If I named my vessel it would be the Star Lance, because I would probably use it as a hit-and-run vessels on command ships and major installations. Too expensive to risk without a couple of Lucrehulks providing massive starfighter cover.
IT really depends on where it is during the battle. If it's in the middle of the action it will get pretty damaged but as a clone said 'It can take anything we throw at it' it can just tank out the shots and retreat it won't do much if it's in the middle of the action. If it's at the right angle on the outskirts of the battle it can shut down most of the republic ships (and most of their own ships) with it's ion cannon and the kidnapping of the Chancellor would of been smooth and they could of captured Anakin and Obi-wan as bonus gifts since the ship would be disabled so they can't make their dramatic crash landing.
I would name it the Dutchman, because the ship is only a mere legend or a myth to others, while other swore that they had encountered it, but no one would believe a ship of that power and size.
I feel like the CIS are very underrated. They are my favorite faction and I feel like there full potential was never shown.
Gavin Slone I totally agree long live the Confederacy.
Gavin Slone Confederacy forever
@@oogaboogabe3464 and general kael I 100% agree with u both long live the cis
LONG LIVE THE CIS!!!
Then I call mine "The Hercules". (after the hero, aaand after the only ship that came back from Harvest. (Halo fans know what I mean))
+Jonas Brauer yo big up halo crew
+Jonas Brauer late, but what's odd us I was just playing halo wars.
*is
I would name mine the Phantom of Osiris, because when you are claimed by Osiris, the Egyptian death god, you are paralyzed and basically screwed. I believe this is the perfect embodiment of what a Subjugator class does.
If I got a Subjugator, I would call it Elizabeth.
Because...
*"She's a Killer Queeeen!*
*Gunpowder, gelatine;*
*Dynamite with a laser beam;*
*Guaranteed to blow your mind!"*
Oh, I love that song, and the whole band.
Call it Mary
the ion cannon on the subjugator is set to expand after it fires and actually reaches some thing about the size of the first death star before it collapses in on it self and fizzles out
Zack Franco so, more than large enough to cover the eclipse
Mike7998.easily covers like half a moon size
Well to be fair they were destined to lose by palpatine
The deadliest would be the melovalance it's a shame it lasted only two episodes
General? How about the devastation? I mean..its deadlier oh and i forgot ROGER ROGER
Weaponized Ion tech is so powerful. That’s why I love the Aggressor Class Star Destroyer.
It sucks that it was in the hands of Grevious and not Trench, and that it did’t at least have a small escort fleet.
@@lucasrigby5389 you are saying that to grievous
@@lucasrigby5389 trench would lose too and he would just get more robotic limbs

Admiral Trench's flagship, the Invincible, was a Providence Dreadnought
i would call it the han, and go up against the eclipse, the id shoot first and take it out
Hi there I don’t think you get it. Han always shoots first
Hi there The joke jumped to hyperspace above your head
@Hi there (Hello there) Just hyperspace close to the bridge and fire the ion cannon at it. The ship is officially done for.
Or you could just take an X-Wing and hyperspace through the bridge, since apparently FTL ramming is a thing now...
@@thundergozon6439 ftl ramming, when the 2 ships ramming each other are the only ones to have a special tech.
The older less powerful guns couldn’t inflict much damage on the eclipse even if it didn’t have shielding. The eclipse has a strong enough hull to survive TurboLaser shots without shielding.
If it went against eclipse it would depends on who fired first
If the ship was bow on to the Eclipse and the Eclipse was showing broadside then the Subjugator could turn just enough to fire on the Eclipse's stern to knock out its engines then turn the other way and fire the other Ion blast at the bow where the superlaser was located, effectively taking out the ship.
With a few shots yes but I would say first target would be the super laser first and then the engines.
Thanks. Love your vids.
Frothy Walrus but the eclipse could just one shot it with it proto death lazer
Eclipse takes less time to fire it's longer ranged beam btw, that's why it's one of my favourite ships in star wars
It's my favorite faction, hands down.
Remember the CIS had way more Subjugator-Class dreadnoughts. I completely agree with you. I also think that if Palpatine died on the invisible hand, the CIS would have wiped the floor with the Republic.
If the Subjugator is commanded by Grand Admiral Thrawn there is no ship in the galaxy that could win in a 1on1 combat, even the Eclipse.
That is So True! :D
Subjagators only have the ion cannons on the sides. The eclipse has it on the front. If they faced head on then the Eclipse has a chance
SuperLatios333 Hit and Run tactics
The reason why is. Lucas art didnt have the idea until later. But yes they would use the malificant as i call it.

Spectre I would call it The Harvester
I would call it “ The Fleet Killer.”
Good name
I'd call my subjugator the Inevitable because of the way the superweapon works, if you get hit with it, it's inevitable you're not gonna make it.
I would name my subjugator "Toilet".A ship being shot by it's ion cannon and a phone falling in the toilet end up the same way.
Well i found a name: "If It's wearing a helmet , shoot it" or "I never seen a Jedi"
Tolga Atilla Excellent
Subjugater cruiser is the best ship and super weapon in my opinion. The only reason why it got destroyed was because the force demanded it and they had the chosen one
I agree. They should have built more pf these. It was only destroyed because of Grievous multiple tactical errors.

For its size it was underwhelming
"Neutron Claw."
Just how awesome it sounds and how well it rolls off the tongue.
The planetary defense gun on Hoth *was* an ion cannon, so it's possible, though admittedly that was a massive example.
If I had to name a Subjugator class capital ship, I would name it the Titan, because of its size but also because of it’s impressive weapon.

The Quarzi That seem accurate
I’d call my subjugator: The The Unsparing
Yeah! I frickin love the CIS ships! It would be so cool to see a Droid army in theaters again.
I'd name it the deathblow because after the ships are sitting ducks, you're free to deliver the deathblow
Norwegian nightmare without that shield generator they'll be sitting ducks
Great video. I only recently started watching your videos, so this one feels simpler in presentation, but the analysis is just as good. My Subjugator-class heavy cruiser: the Just Cause.
grievous used over coruscant the small providence-class Destroyer and not the big Version
Vipersnake21 it would have been awesome if he used the dreadnought though
And it was almost destroyed by a ship with 10 turbolasers
Press X to shame (I only say this because it is assumed than the Providence was created specificaly to counter the Venator)
@@alejandroelluxray5298 it was already in the battle for 3 or more days
The providence dreadnought is my favourite ship in all of Star Wars
Nice video dude! To answer all 3 questions then:
1: I bet a couple Venator class star destroyers would be disabled by the ion cannons, then eviscerated by the Subjugator's turbolasers and those of other Separatist vessels, although the Republic fleet, regardless of whether Anakin and Obi-Wan are present, would get their act together and find a countermeasure, ie flank w/ fighters and some Star Destroyers then hammer it till it goes boom;
2: If it went up against an Eclipse-class Super Star Dreadnought, then either the ion cannon would only fizzle the Eclipse a bit, given how it's 3-and-something times bigger than a Subjugator, or the Eclipse just charges up the Superlaser, and end of story;
3: I'd name my Subjugator the "Burner", because such an ion cannon and turbolaser complement could burn through enemy ships in the right hands(mine!)
huzzah for sponsors
I support it, i don't see why people don't.
I would name my ship Malevolence :D
Also I think if the Eclipse took a shot from the Ion cannon,it could recover and just blow the Subjugator out of the sky.
I would name a Subjugator The Dying Light
Why not rising? I commanded an providence named that way
Ok now that’s fuckin sick
Subjagator vs Eclipse 3 scenarios- eclipse pulls it out of hyperspace with gravity well then rams it before they load ion canon. Eclipse sees Subjagator and decimates it with canon barrage or super lazer. Subjagator fires first- 2 ways it'll go either it turns off 2/3 of the Eclipse and it simply uses all still working canons to at least make crew of Subjagator panic or they turn it off completly but then realise that this ship is practicly indestructable and it just gets power back after some time.
Nope, Invisable Hand was not the Dreadnought version providence, that would be admiral Trench's one, the Invincible.

It's also the name of a Covenant Separatist ship.
Wow, that's a great fact to know.

very nice ships the clone wars is with the old republic the best of star wars very nice video!!!!!!
Eclipse wins, hands down. One shot from it's superlaser would either cripple or outright vaporize a Subjugator. After all, it is a scaled down version of the Death Star's weapon, and Subjugators are only around 5 miles long. Huge as starships go, but small when compared to a city or continent.
Or a planet.
Shmip Shmop both what you said was true
Ships dont need to be big just saying
while i have always been very critical of star wars ship designs as someone who enjoys realistic and functional designs, i have always loved the CIS warships. their skeletal appearance, high degree of automation and ease of production would, in my mind, suit them well to comprising a large, powerful fleet to be fielded by a faction that cannot afford lots of crew and material in the construction and operation of their ships.
their munificent class was an excellent and versatile design with moderate hull protection and a powerful prow cannon capable of punching above it's weight. it's combination of point defense lasers and anti-capital ship turbolaser turrets (a practical scheme common with separatist warships) gave it a versatile combination of offensive and defensive weaponry. it could even carry a few starfighters, although it lacked the dedicated hanger of a larger warship, and could not refuel vulture droids, fighters noted for their limited fuel.
the recusant class destroyer is one of my favorite star wars ship designs ever. it possessed a powerful (for it's size) frontal cannon, and a notable array of laser and turbolaser turrets for engaging fighters and warships alike. it's shields and armor were adequate for their size, but their real focus was on speed and firepower. they were quite fast ships, and would likely be excellent heavy raiding ships for disrupting enemy supply lines. this capability is enhanced further by their ability to carry a significant number of fighters into battle, and rearm and refuel them with a dedicated hanger.
the providence class (most accurately classified as a small battlecruiser) was an excellent and versatile warship with a balance of firepower (including a large number of missile based weapons, a rare feature on star wars ships,) armor and shields, and relatively good speed for their size. they had modest carrier capabilities for their size, and would overall be an effective flagship for a small, mobile task force. my only complaint is the exposed bridge present on many star wars ships.
the lucrehulk is not a warship. it is a freighter converted into a makeshift battleship, and poorly so. it could not focus it's firepower effectively, and lacked effective anti-fighter weaponry. this latter drawback was partially compensated for by the fact that it's status as a battleship is... arguably a misnomer. i consider this ship to be more of a carrier than an effective warship. as a matter of fact, this ship was an excellent carrier, and while i would refit these ships to possess more anti-fighter weaponry, and equip them with a greater number of bombers to allow them to effectively launch fighter strikes against enemy warships with a greater degree of effectiveness, they are otherwise perfectly acceptable flagships for a carrier task force.
the subjugator... this is a ship i want to like. it has an aesthetic design i like, an impressive amount of durability, surviving sustained fire from multiple venators even after it's shields had been disabled (durability is something i value in an expensive flagship, more so than in smaller, more expendable warship.) while it's ion cannons are seemingly impressive, i feel like this ship relies too heavily on them. any opponent encountering this ship more than once will know to spread out their fleet sufficiently to minimize the effects of the weapon, and the ship's other weaponry is rather lacking for it's size. fleets spreading out to counter the ion cannon doesn't happen on screen because star wars space battles are planned by movie directors with no knowledge or interest in tactics or even common sense.
the ion cannon is large, un-wieldly, vulnerable to attack and useless in a close quarters fleet battle, battles which appear to be very common in the star wars universe. if i were to redesign the subjugator, i would replace it's ion cannons with large starfighter hangers armored with thick, retractable blast doors. i would then use the huge quantities of excess energy available from the removal of the ion cannon to support a significantly increased armament, as well as more powerful shielding to bolster it's already impressive defenses, including extra shielding dedicated to protecting the structural weak point that the hangers create (although arguably the ion cannon was a similar weak point in the original design.)
If I had a Subjugator, I'd name it the Absolute Zero, because it's the coolest ship around.
Subjugator vs. Death Star 2
Emerald Sceptile33 death star 2.... it is just way too big to be dissabled by the ion canon.... with the eclipse.... welp... thats a hard one....
That ship is *T H I C C*

Just asked for this video yesterday... and already got it!😀
I called it with the Malevolence showing up in first place😉
If i were a Sep commander: my ship is the Black Swan!
I'd call it Palpatine's Bane
Great video and nice app 😀😀😀
I actually disagree for once. Here's my list:
1. Subjegator
2. Provicdence (2km version)
3. Lucrehulk
4. Recusent (2km version)
5. Normal providence
Wait no invinsible after all it was invinsible kinda
I would call it jeff
Tombomb1411
Imagine the superweapon, could say "My name's jeff!" that would be perfect
It would be awesome to have a lucrehulk as a house, you could have droid security and fighters to fight off pirates, and you could have the biggest penthouse suite in the galaxy, fit it with your own bar, shopping mall and a entire community of your buddies living in it, you could probably put a entire towns worth of stuff in it, have your own independent moving community with jobs and droid ran factories to build goods, and then fly to different systems as a kind of pop up shopping mall lol
Old republic ships!
Damn that Bulwark is THICCC
Id name mine SubjugatorMcSubjugatorface
vaporwave and star wars, a surprisingly good combo
Why do people underestimate the Separatists?
The CIS need to check there privilege
"Their"
7:05 *[begins blasting sabaton]*
I would squeal/faint/jump and pump my fist in the air whether I be a CIS meatbag or a clanker and take 150 milliseconds to immediately name my baby; "Salvation through Nirvana" for its presence in any system will bring peace to Separatist sympathizers while striking terror into the Republic dogs. As a side note, another name for my former CIS flagship would be
"Peace through Power!"
To Be Or Not Tobi One vision! One purpose!
In the name of His Almighty Flagship, Kane Lives!
Haha XD
CIS fleets we're so beautiful varied in ship make-up. That was the thing that always bugged me about The Clone Wars series: all we ever saw the Republic fighting with were Venators and the odd Acclamator when sieging a planet. What I would have given to see more of the Republic rollin' with their Venators (or even a few Victories for spice) backed up by Dreadnoughts and more Arquitens & C70 Chargers...
Something something something budget restrictions.
I think the Eclipse had no chance against the number one (it's called Malevolence)
The actual ship is a Subjigator. The “Malevolence” is what Grievous calls it, like how he calls his Providence the “Invisible Hand.”
The Eclipse has A FUCKING SUPER-LASER
Muriel Cunningham But it could still be destroyed by Big Shaq in a second of him blasting his blessed music at it destroying it with no remorse.
The ship not only looked *t h i c c* but it was.
I'd name mine The Oppressor because with the ion cannon it can subjugate or oppress an entire fleet of ships
Eck you did it again bro!
