Hey Kenny, there’s nothing coming out of my aerator even when I open the valve all the way. I’m worried the pipe is broken underground or there’s some blockage. Is there an easy way to check either?
Wow, that’s a tough one. It’s pretty hard to tell if the pipe underground has been collapsed or not. Unless you dig it up and that might require jackhammering through your cool decking.
Where do you buy this? I bought one off Amazon but it is for Pentair. Apparently I don’t have a Pentair as the thread pitch is different. What else can I try and where to buy?
Sometimes the threading is tricky, depending on who installed the pool originally. There normally is a standard size, but there are some that are a little bigger or smaller depending on again the manufacture or builder of the pool. I’ll get my aerator heads at my main wholesale pool supplier in my area, I would suggest looking for them on Amazon or something like that that offers free returns and get a couple different ones and try them and then return the others
Hi! Any suggestions when the entire top part was broken off and there is nothing to grab? No one had replaced the aerator in a decade and the plastic crumbled.
Happens all the time. You can use a flat head screwdriver and hammer to break the broken off end in the hole, just be careful to not break the female threaded side of the hole. Little by little. I've done it dozens of time.
The nipple broke completely off. So much that I cannot get it with pliers. Any suggestions for removal? In AZ so you already know the conditions that I am working with.
Oh yeah. VERY common and easy to do. Take a medium flat head screwdriver and a small hammer and carefully "chisel" it out. Making sure you don't damage the female threads. It can be done and I have to do it a lot but take your time, little by little.
Hi Kenny, I have a question that needs your help. I live in Maryland, my pool system hose dropped from the plumbing, it causing my pool water level to lower than the skimmer. Now it is near the season to close the pool, can I use a portable pool pump to vacuum the pool and circle the chemical treatment before closing the pool? thanks for your help.
Unfortunately I don't have experience with closing down pools for the winter (cause in Arizona we don't have to do that). BUT if the hose has come loose I'd get that fixed before shutting your pool down or repair it during the off season. As far as vacuuming the pool and circulating the chemicals before closing the pool using a portable pool pump. I don't see why you couldn't do that. But make sure the pump will adequately circulate the water.
@@PoolSchooler Hi, Kenny, appreciate your reply and that is a great help to me. as you recommend that I will make sure that the pool circulation is adequate circulation.

@@PoolSchooler that's exactly what I did. I remember having to do that with ceramic screws back when I was a machine technician.
