I have a 2013 Ducati Diavel AMG. It is what it is. It's a frig'n Nasty Beast that wants to fly! In Urban, at 100HP, it's the easiest to handle and fun to ride. The suspension loosens up and the torque is still insane. I often ride the twisties in that setting. In Touring it's full power and stiff as sh_t. It's great for the highways and long-distance travel on the Interstate. In Sport, it's full power right now and the suspension loosens up similar to Urban. The thing is, it'll take a good minute to acclimate to each. Take your time and enjoy. I have a 2003 Yamaha FZ1, among a few other bikes, but nothing compares to the old FZ. An old back injury keeps me off of it way too much because of the rider's position. But, I decided today that I will spend whatever I have to to get it set up where I can ride it until my eyes roll back in my head. It's only 12 HP less than the Ducati and Top End is only about 10 miles difference, as if I'm going to ride that anyway. But, man, that FZ just purrs at low speed, the soundtrack is similar to a lion's low growl, the vibration coming up through the seat is XXX Rated, and with just a flick of the wrist, your scenery turns into a blur. The FZ1 is the greatest bang for the buck you'll probably find.

After riding dirt bikes, a proper street bike feels like a ROCKET SHIP! I have a 2021 KLX-300 DS and a 2018 Z900rs...after time on the KLX the z900rs feels like it will rip my arms off!

The quoted 0-60 for the Diavel is 2.6 seconds and full power is 163bhp.

Let the rpm get up there. You're early shifting her!

Nice bike!! And it's a strong beast, no doubt, with a top speed of around 170mph! I've never owned an actual sports bike. My closest was a Yamaha Seca II 600 from (I think) 1992. It was a "sporty" red bike with a small fairing up front, and an inline 4 engine putting out around 60hp. I had a lot of fun on that bike. It would do a little wheelie on its own shifting hard from 1st to 2nd gear and I loved that. It was no slouch either... I once raced a friend on a Ninja 600, just from a stoplight, drag out to about 70-80mph, and we were DEAD EVEN the entire time. That even surprised me! lol
I still have and like my WR250R, it's such a nice, light and flickable bike. But I did just get a '22 Honda CB500X, which I'll use for longer jaunts out of town. The 500X is considered in some circles to be an adventure bike, but to me it's just an easygoing street bike. Like it a lot so far, have only had it around 10 days. I'm too old (late 50s) to be riding a sportbike now, the riding position wouldn't even be comfortable. But very happy with a bike like the 500X. (it actually reminds me a lot of the Seca II in terms of size, and handling - very similar in that way)
I will say that my local dealer has a red CBR1000R on the floor, and it's a sweeeeeeet bike!! If I were younger and had the money, I'd be all over it.

      Defo!
Tbh I’ve ridden sports bikes all my life and recently got a Diavel. I do prefer the Diavel. But yes. Sports bikes in general are far more demanding.

Your first ride on a sport bike.. the Diavel ISN'T a sport bike.. nor a cruiser.. it's a touring sport tourer

Actually Ducati brand it as a hyper cruiser.
