Have you had a chance to spend some time on the 450l ? If so , what do you think? I guess its not worth close to 2x the cost of kawi for east coast woods riding and dual sporting . Idk

The stock Dunlop AT 81’s are amazing especially at lower psi, I run Tubliss at 5#-7# rear and front. Did you notice you weren’t having traction issues as were the other rides especially 1st half of video? Good ride! Also drop the forks in the clamps at least 7mm as much as 10mm, that will correct the front tire pushing

The problem with keeping momentum on a CRF 450 flame out queen is that it's anything but a tractor that is capable of low end torque. It's the worst possible bike for slow, technical terrain.

I've recently rode a KLX450R which is also a dual sport and that bike can difinetely keep up with any bike out there especially if ridden by a seasoned rider. But my YZ250 is an absolute ripper.

That lack of suspension and tires is going to hurt when you turn 50. It's pretty impressive that you keep the pace without even so much as setting up the stock suspension to your weight and what you are doing. The klx actually has pretty good suspension for a cheap bike and the chassis is based off of the old kdx, so Enduro is where it was born. Now just imagine how much more stamina you'll have and the pace you'll be able to maintain if you actually set the bike up for what you are doing.

Break in is I thought 400 miles so heard they wake up more after that so you should get more after n check again.

Tip, Axp skid plate I drilled two holes in the frame and put in rivet nuts and my axp plate bolts up quick and easy.

I don't know about what you're talking about as far as 2:05 About 3rd gear but I do know that you feathered the clutch.. that's why I would rather figure some way to get my bike to come off the ground without touching the clutch and I've got my doubts. Even if I go with like a get tune And a full exhaust system I really don't see my bike being able to come off the ground with just rolling the throttle. It's sad because I like the bike but it's really underpowered compared to like say KX450 Motocross

Cool to see it being used in "real" conditions, so thanks! But man, you REALLY REALLY need to ALWAYS at the very least setup rear suspension sag, and then do a strong push down on footpeg, observe suspension sinking. Does it sink equally? If not? Adjust til it does. That gets you closer to ballpark to start off with. EDIT: Geez man! At around 13:55 that slimy downhill line where you're both feet off the pegs! I KNOW the GoPro ain't doin' THAT justice! P.S. Remind yourself, especially when you get tired, to KEEP YOUR ELBOWS UP! [go review the shadows in he vid ;) ]

A shifting too soon he needs to damn near wind out the gears before shifting that way you get more torque

I have the KLX250 version in Spain, and I can go anywhere with this bike. Never has disapointed me.

Yeah , for sure give a hard enduro a go , but treat it as an extreme trail ride and make sure the bike and tires are set up for nasty stuff. Tough like RORR was flat out terifying at times. Makes you appreciate the talent at the top and even what it takes to qualify for the main at that game . Epic .

Nice ride, reminds me of being younger in the 70's and taking the tracks out to the brick yards. Later we had the shut down strip mines farther out that was so big you could get lost. I just purchased a 2024 Kawasaki Kl x 300 and wanting to relive the old days. My body tells me I'm 67 but my mind says I'm 17. Although those places are strictly off limits I have access to a motor-cross track just out side of town and a 320 acre ride park 60 miles south of here. It's nice to have something street legal so I can just ride around and take any trail when I find one as long I'm not trespassing.

The KLX 300 IS a real bike.
