  • Hey folks, this is a how to for the Soul Eater Scythe. Prop might be difficult for some since you will need a bench grinder with a 1/4" wheel, not cheap. I do sell these on ebay and etsy, so no worries if you don't have the tools.

    Hello! I'm trying to create this scythe but I'm having a bit of trouble. If you don't mind, how many inches is the gap on the blade where the pvc pipe goes? I printed out the sketch you linked but it came out a lot smaller than it was supposed to and I used all of my ink😂😭. Thank you so much!

    • @KenBowyerByDay
      @KenBowyerByDay  7 років тому +3

      Just make sure the gap is wide enough to pass the pvc coupling smoothly
      through. Just wide enough though, don't want it too wide. Good luck!

    If the length of the blade is 32'', how long should the end of the blade that connects to the piping be? Thank you in advance.

    Yikes I'm commenting in 2019 but I am in need of help. I am making a scythe but from a complete different anime. I'm trying to make Zack Fosters scythe from angels of death. I already have the foam board and everything but I don't know what to use for the stick part and how to put it together. Please help 🙏

    • @KenBowyerByDay
      @KenBowyerByDay  5 років тому

      I don't use foam board, so this might not work, but I'd use pvc for the haft, cutting a slit in it for the blade, and then use some screws to hold it in place.

      @@KenBowyerByDay pvc pipe I see. Are there any other alternative ways to make it cause the convention I'm attending is strict on prop making

    • @KenBowyerByDay
      @KenBowyerByDay  5 років тому

      @@lynx4272 I'm sure there are but that's how I would do it. I don't know the rules of your convention, but if they complain about steel screws, you could use aluminum post screws to get around it.

    thank you so much!!! i personally don't want to make this specific scythe, though it is amazing, your tutorial is helping me make my own scythe for halloween!!
    but how do i print something on multiple sheets of paper so that its 32 inches long

    I have a question.. If I were doing a shoot and I needed to spin the blade and ya know pretend to use it would it be stable enough and not fall apart or break while I'm swinging it around?

      +sorryimarianna :3 if you build it right and glue all the parts together, it shouldn't be a problem.

    If I draw it what would be the width of the wood?

    • @KenBowyerByDay
      @KenBowyerByDay  7 років тому

      I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean. I suppose the width would be as long as you drew it to be, though it you refer to the material's width, the fiberboard I use for the blade is 1/4 of an inch thick.

    If you don’t mind me asking, how long should the couplings be? It said 3 x 1 1/2, but I’m pretty sure it means the quantity and not the length.

    • @KenBowyerByDay
      @KenBowyerByDay  4 роки тому +1

      The couplings should be about 3 inches each. These are not the repair couplings.

    Hello! I’m a bit confused on how to print the download because it’s only showing the middle piece. Is there a specific way to print it? Pls lmk asap i may need it for an assignment 😭 tysm for this amazing tutorial!!

    • @KenBowyerByDay
      @KenBowyerByDay  Рік тому +1

      I'm guessing you mean the middle piece of the scythe blade. This may mean your printer is looking to print the blade over several pieces of paper because of it's size. If that is the case, I would check your print settings.
