i'm not 100% sure what i bought since it was so long ago, but if buying stuff again I would use a cotton poplin, cotton twill, or cotton garbadine (which is often used for coats!) (normally I love poly but i recommend avoiding polyester for these types of fabrics b/c poly twill and poplin are too drapey and do not press nicely like cotton does)
