I've been having such a great time with Core Keeper. I plan on playing through the entire game so get subscribed to catch part 2
Maybe this video will be the day I finally buy it and have it leave my wishlist
I've had such a blast playing the game! Figuring out bosses and different farms with friends has been so fun.
I'm definitely looking forward for more Floor Sleeper xD
Good game waiting for new Terraria updated. Playing core keeper from 1.0 much much to do
The summoning class is not great, also the mage. They need more love. Dominate is the warrior, after it archer
4:15 sure, a terraria veteran and doesn't distinguish the glow tulip right away
Shot fired!
Lol, to be fair he did say he was a Terraria veteran and not a Core Kepper veteran. Even staying he hadn't played core keeper in a few years. But I am amused either way and understand the playful jab of your comment.
I think he's referring to the fact that the glow tulip is in terraria too 🤔 maybe lol
@@homeyduhlike what less than 1% chance of finding it maybe? I mean I've played terraria years and only found it once. XD not as common as you think sir.😅
@@christianedwards9025 it kind of is
So happy to see you play our game :) been waiting for this & love your videos. Glad you enjoyed it & can't wait to see more.
I find it funny that he immediately found out that you can use the arrows on the workbench to switch between different workbenches, then immediately completely forgot and continued to keep every tier of workbench for crafting XD
I was WONDERING if that's how it worked. I'm guessing Chippy thought you still needed to have them in the vicinity lol
@@joshualoiacono5488 unless they changed something in the update, each new workbench has the capacity of all the old ones too.
Playing this... Having WAY too much fun. It feels like the first time I played Terraria but with the content after Hard Mode came out. It's GREAT!
damn man sounds like i have to play this!
dude thank you😭 ive been playing terraria my whole life, been my favorite game of all time and hasnt ever changed. i was so happy playing through corekeeper and experiencing similar feelings, especially fighting king slime😭 cant wait to see your playthrough
800+ hours in Terraria, totally agree with you. I made my Steam account to buy Terraria back in the day.
Yes! After finding this game and relating it to my own limited terraria experience it will be amazing to see you work through this game.
I have to thank you honestly, if you hadn't covered the very first open alpha of CK, I probably would've never gotten to experience the game's growth. It's great to see you're returning!
Glad you're finally able to play Core Keeper, its genuinely one of the best games I've played in the last few years, and it only gets better.
you can get rid of old anvils and workbenches, having the most recent one alone will let you scroll to previous ones
extending this tip: early on you thrash them, but as the game goes on, it becomes more and more profitable to sell them to the NPCs, since you can't recycle them (most people still try :P)
No this is no terraria I like haveing a line of 300 tables
I did not stop to play this again after it went out of early access, but played plenty of it before and can give some useful spoiler free tips:
- Cooked food always give bigger buffs than what you use as an ingredient, so it is always good to cook stuff
- Pets are a good source of helpful damage, you can get then from eggs in the incubator (there is even an certain egg from a collab with Terraria)
- Defeating bosses multiple times can yield different loots
- You don't need multiple copies of loot since stuff just break but keeps in the inventory without durability unless you are on multiplayer (like for example Witch Doctor pants) so you can salvage then for resources and can always repair and reinforce the broken ones with scrap parts and materials
- Building your skill tree stuff is pretty important, since you can get some really good effects (like poison hits from farming, extra ranged damage from fishing, extra melee damage from mining), so take your time to look into everything
They added so much stuff. I started playing in July of 2022 and started playing again. Made a new character and did a summoner/sorcerer build. They also just buffed summoners which needed it. Heavily recommend 1.0+
Don't forgot the golden crops with the super food cook buffs!
Adding onto that 3rd point, kill malugaz until you get the rift lens, its awesome
@@rowanstree8499 Rift Lens is insanely good. It can go over small gaps of air or water, and go through fences and gates. It's the best movement tech the game has and made me not bother with any other offhand items in my primary loadout.
For the record, Ghorm's path makes a giant ring around your spawn area, you would've found him no matter which direction you went.
I'm so glad you're making videos on what is one of my favorite games ever. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Here's just a few starter tips.
-The currency in the game is ancient coins, it's an actual item, not some counter somewhere in your inventory.
- The game has a linear progression but there's nothing stopping you from exploring "later" biomes (except for maybe your mining damage)
- The core is your guide (if you want to play the game in said linear progression)
- Just have fun with it, Core Keeper's exploration is by far the best part of the game (and trust me, there's some stuff out there that's worth your time)
Love how I looked up core keeper and at the same minute chippy posts this
More of this please
I should have another long video like this up on Friday
@@ChippyGaming yes do a Core Keeper series
21:20 can confirm, Glurch and Ghorm were both in the game, but Ghorm didn't have any fight mechanics and completely ignored you. I had to build spike strips to beat it
it's on game pass - been crushing it. huuuuge map, and there's really nice options for mining like the grubzooka + mortar gun. the only things that i find are annoying is the inability to quickly replace floor tiles (removing+placing takes a while since it's 1 tile at a time). and since the map is so huge and the boss scanners are quite expensive to make, it takes a while to find them. great game overall though!
You can remove any kind of tile with a hoe. Scarlet one does a 5x5 area in one go
@@miguelfernandez4416 I think he meant replacing the actual floor blocks and not stuff like the mob-spawning tiles on top of them, but I will second the hoe recommendation, deserves a permanent spot in the hotbar and is a better shovel for most uses. Also disarms traps and can quickly pick up conveyor belts and wire.
I’m a “vet” in this game (300 hours, been playing since 2022) and my best tip is fortify all your armor and tools. It’s very worth it, other than that you only need your newest workbench, but I always recommend you carrying one on you. Other than that have fun, and if anyone has any questions I can answer them.
Hey there,
Do you have a solution for better Mushroom farms? I usually just placed the Mushroom soil in a big square area and surrounded it with a fence so the spawning little mushroom guys are no trouble. But now with the big ones it’s a lot more annoying to do so because they just break the fences. Traps are also inefficient against them since they only take one damage.
How do you make nice mushroom farms?
@@lordgao9768 if you’re far enough in the game maybe galaxite turrets will work if you put them next to high durability walls, but otherwise I don’t think mushroom farms are that effective or needed anyways so. Sorry that I can’t help that much
@@lordgao9768 make the size zone you want the farm in, surround it with stone brick walls, place mushy ground or w/e you want to farm in this patter; M = mushy ground T = spike traps O = stone brick walls
OOOOOOOOO

O T M T M T O

OOOOOOOOO
just keep in fenced in and they wont escape =) then just play the game and come back now and then to pickup the loot =) Edit: the only way to farm the big ones are to manually kill them and use a block they cant destroy as a wall
@@mistapine
Yea I know that they arent as effective as other food items, but I don’t really care about that, I just like having everything in my base :) I haven’t tried galaxite fence but the big ones destroyed even scarlet fences :/ I think any fence has the same durability. Thanks though!
farming crops is important too, so you have somethings to eats
I’m glad others are playing core keeper it’s a really good game, I hope my let’s play series does help with there support
Fun fact about the lighting in this game - it’s so good because it uses sophisticated lighting algorithms that would be too slow and complicated to run in real time in higher resolution, but are feasible at the resolution the game runs at!
This game is really fun, already got 12 hours in my first 3 days of playing, I especially enjoy the difficulty that not just bosses but also normal mobs provides
Nice video! Will definitely be looking forward to the next episodes!! Just wanted to mention though, you don’t need to lay out all the different tiers of crafting benches, you just need the highest level that you have, and you’ll be able to select the lower ones in it with the green arrows to the side. Also, you can put the NPCs together in one room, you just need their beds and “items” (like the beard gel thing) to go with them.
Looks like you like pixel games more than somewhat realistic looking ones, I still like pixel games
my first console was a gameboy colour so I think my love sorta started from there
@@ChippyGaming I remember when Gameboy was a great handheld system, I was like 4-5 and waiting for street lights to light up my screen while I play in the car
everyone's entitled to their own opinion but for me gameplay is king over good graphics. I'll take a game like Terraria or Core Keeper over any good looking AAA game with mediocre gameplay and progression.
@YuYuYuna_ they way you said that is great, made me think of the anime Shangri-la Frontier
I played this game about a year ago. It was really fun back then. It looks phenomenal now. I definitely need to hop back on.
Core Keeper felt like playing terraria for the first time again, please support these devs they made a wonderful game.
12:50 "i feel right at home. typical british experience"
BRUHHHH😂😂😂😂😂
😂
I nearly commented "James, you have dementia, you have played this before". Then I got to the 2 seconds in point where you recalled that you have played it before.
I'm glad you're playing Core Keeper again! Love this game a lot! :D
I played it first when you made a video on it, then I bought it this May. It actually made me stop putting hours into Terraria for a bit
I, of course, also went the Terraria way and only really played and beat Hard (Expert to Legendary in Terraria)
@2:48 "you'll feel really homely here" 😂 chippy insults his toon
I love terraria, and your videos- definitely excited to watch your playthrough of Core Keeper!! I started playing Core Keeper with my friends about a week ago and i'm really liking it so far
YES! I was just thinking about you last night, I LOVED your worlds and the movies you made in Terraria. I was a little sad that you didn't show up in a search for Core Keeper, but today YT did me a solid and threw you in the recommendeds.
Also why is your editing so much better the intro was magical
I love this game. This is going to rival terraria for hours played. (I have a total of 3000 hours in terraria)
Really happy to see you playing this game, I haven't played the 1.0 update either so it's cool to learn alongside you as you go. Definitely looking forward to part 2! 👍
This game reminds me visually of moonlighter, it was hard to believe that it wasn’t made by the same studio
As someone who has played this game for a stupid while, what i enjoy most about it is the different skill trees, the upgrades you get from bosses, the amount of decor and building options, and the fact that this game seems to have no borders, i remember once going in a single direction for an hour, with no end to be seen and the feeling that you get that this game is just absolutely massive.
Also, the lighting and music absolutely carries this game
Also, belive it or not, but there are go-karts in the game now
I love seeing you branch out on the channel! Seeing the new games and stuff covered is always a treat.
I set up my first base around the musical room entrence thingy, and just randomly crafted and starting messing with music when my friend saw the door light up whenever i was playing the instrument, what an insane game this is.
Just started playing this the other day, I am now playing 4 separate playthroughs with different groups of people, everyone loves it. Can’t wait to see you play more
Those ruins you found, there is always an entrance to that.. You don't need to destroy walls, they are mazes, just bring some blocks to place in gaps... Circle it for entarnce.. Always good loot there, rare ones in certain situations..
OMG I did too (thank you steam sale). It's so chill and cute, I love it. (I look awesome in my mushroom hat) I've been keeping pretty close to my starting area, not ready for big scary bosses yet. This is the first video I'm watching... trying to keep my first experience pure.
HELL YEAH it’s about time chippy! I’m so glad you made a video on this game!
Your first alpha video you published made me fall in love with the game and now im playing the full release and it's beautiful. Highly recommend playing the whole thing
chippy please get rid of your other workbenches 😭 things pull out of chests a tile next to, and once you upgrade a workbench you no longer need your previous one
OH
To be fair this is a "newer" change, at least for me as well as for Chippy. Last time I played Core Keeper was when there was only the first 3 bosses and then I think 1 boss after that? Scarlet ore was the highest tier ore when I played.
I'm thoroughly enjoying the game! I bought the game two years ago and played around for like 20 minutes and knew I would love the game, but wanted to wait for 1.0. Super happy to have all this stuff to go through all at once
Welcome aboard! I just started playing a couple weeks ago.
One of the very few games I've ever got during early access and it came out better than anyone expected
omg this looks incredible. I've been an og terraria gamer since release. its so exciting to see how much similarities it has. unfortunately i cant afford to give it a go but surely ill get my chance hahah
I played it exactly a year ago and loved it. I can't believe how much it's changed since then. And yes, I've just started my second playthrough :D
Core Keeper is a nice fusion of Terraria, Stardew Valley, Valheim, and Factorio. Not perfect, but they're still actively working on updates, so I have faith in the potential this game holds.
I enjoy the game a lot in the first 10 and 15 hours but i don't think play mage and summoner was a great option because the lack of weapons of this classes i will make another run but playing has ranger o melee
(I spanish sorry if the English is bad Xd)
@Elnabo. Yeah mage and summoner and new classes they added this update, so they have very little content right now. They should be better in future updates.
Glad you're finally able to play Core Keeper, i love this game
Small tip, you don't need to keep the previous tier crafting stations as the higher tiers can do everything the lesser could do, also if you fill a chest adjacent to a station you can craft from the items in the chest 😊. Loving seeing this keep it up
I've been waiting for another upload on this game, this is wonderful
Ahh I've been waiting for this for ages so happy you are playing such a good game!!! also if no one else has commented, you picked up some eggs and can hatch them into pets that actually help unlike terraria, need the generator and incubator from the tin workbench to hatch them :)
Hope they launch this game on multiple platforms like Terraria and minecraft
I'm telling you, this game is like if terraria and forager had a child, *and it's beautiful*
great pace for an awesome series! looks like a very fun game
I'm glad you came back for the full release, I've also been enjoying it since way back.
Okay, I'm at 37:26 ... I have to ask... He DID learn, eventually, how to get currency? You just put an item on the SELL side, and sell it, when talking to a shop NPC?
"It's Just a couch" ... a few minutes latter, he figures out how to assemble the skull and have the boss fight there.... *grin* Used to be a hidden side boss, instead of being a full gem carrier.
.
That boss used to be slightly buggy that if you tried to use ranged attacks for too long, he'd leave the fight and reset. Every 10 seconds you had to run in and hit him in melee, give or take.
as someone who has beaten this game in almost every update, this gave me physical pain to watch, but still, i cant wait for more of it lol
My mate got me to buy it yesterday and it's been pretty fun so far
Remember when you played Archvale? I really enjoyed that game, and I never would’ve known about it or considered buying it if you hadn’t made a video about it!
YOU MADE A VIDEO ON IT, THIS IS SUCH A PLEASANT SURPRISE!! I'M SO HAPPY YOU LIKE IT!!
"My inventory is full, again." Yep, that's Core Keeper in nutshell.
oh YES! it's becoming one of my favorites. mind you, this is coming from a thing who already has 200+ hours in, half in early access and half in 1.0. AND it's becoming my newest hyperfixation, you and many other creators covering this wonderful game should get more people into it, and by virtue of that, people making more stuff about it. (there is a terrible lack of fan-content.)
been waiting for you to play this. Fire as always
Can’t wait for you to process further in this game, you’re gonna love it!
I need to play this myself soon! I haven't tried it since around the first video you did about it, but it was already pretty great then! :)
It’s come a long way since then, I think it need a little patch just to smooth a few bits over but it’s really solid so far
God, this game is so fun
You only need the highest tier workbench/anvil. They give you access to all lower tiers so you can get rid of the older ones to conserve space.
Can't wait for chippy to read books in this game as well!
I actually saw it and put it on my wishlist because it looked like my type of game, so this video will definitely help me decide.
This looks like fun!
I’ll see if I can get it myself!
Welcome to the new lands, Chip. We've been waiting for you.
i got to play the game the weekend before the full 1.0 release thank to steam giving us a free access weekend. I really loved the game for the time I got to play it and am hoping to get it when I have an extra $20 to drop on it. I think the fact that it is so similar to Terraria was one of the biggest draws for me, because I absolutely love Terraria. the ability to level up your stats and have skill trees give a whole different experience that part of me wishes Terraria had sometimes.
Would really love to see more. Ty for the great content.
I've been addicted to Core Keeper ever since your first video covering this game
Core Keeper is great!
If they keep on adding more biomes, bosses, and loot it will be even better. Really have enjoyed my time with it so far!
great looking game its on my must play list rn for sure
idk what platform yet gunna wait for launch and reviews
You gotta try Necesse too. Its like terraria aswell, with some light colony management system, and enemy raids are fun. It recently got a graphics update aswell
So glad your playing this . Great game
It is indeed a really really great game 😂 The meadow with the cute critters is my favorite part, so serene and enemy-free 🥰 that was until I left a passage open, and those caveling savages went in and butchered my cows and sheepies! 😭so that's how I learned I have to be very defensive about my cattle that gives me plenty of happiness 😂
There a few things that's unclear at first from the talent trees but to make it simple, some things from other combat trees may affect what you are using. Like for example, if you are using magic, you can benefit from the short term buff that range combat talent gets that says that you may temporarily get 100% crit rate for a few moment, this is good combined with the magic's talent effect that says that crit restores a portion of your mana.
New qol with 1.0 update, all benches can craft previous tiers if you use the arrows on the left side of the crafting menu. So no need to have a dozen anvils.
hey chippy! you can just break the other lower lvl workbenches and use the current one that you crafted to save space, it contains all crafting below the current tier that you're on
YAYYYY THANK YOU FOR BRINGING PUBLICITY TO THIS AGAIN!!!!
I'm here for the variety content. Love to see your style with other games. Maybe a return to finish Eastward? 👀
I just finished the game last night. It’s one of my favorites. I’ve always loved terraria and stardew, and it is such a good mix of both
Actually the way to defeat glurch is by giving yourself a pretty short like 2 screens worth of hallway because it doesnt take much distance for him to deaggro and go back. Just dont let him heal. That boss and the worm boss are cheesable and its obvious BUT. I do have to say that third boss? That was a freaking challenge.
oh yess you HAVE to play it more its awesom
I'm enjoying this game currently as new player
Played this game a little over a year ago, but stopped playing (started playing other games). I might have to play it again
Core Keeper: Is terraria like
Terraria: Is Minecraft like
Minecraft: 🤡
Glad this game is coming along just fine, definitely going to nab it soon, probably on sale but I wouldn't mind getting it for full price.
I'm surprised chippy didnt add the music in the background at least, ik its for audio reasons but it's so good tho
maybe I need to crank the volume in the next video, it’s there just quiet
It's like they mushed every one of my favorite games and somehow it worked and I fign love it!?!?
Also the music from other indie games is so damn cool. They obviously needed permission and were granted, indie devs are awesome. If it was anything from a big AAA company even a mention of the name would result in them gettin sued
If you place a crafting table against a chest it will allow you to craft things using the item in the chest without them being in your inventory
I just really wish summons default length were a minute or even 45 seconds
They actually updated that recently, so that they are a minute by default now. Much needed balance change.
by the way you can just sell your old crafting tables and anvils to npcs to free up space the higher tiers have all the previous ones included so you dont need to have them all just sitting around
Alright lets buy this game :D Looking forward to be taken by a game for weeks :)
