So glad so many of you are going try this banding/threading-like (thranding? Lol) method. Just a note for those doing twists outs and etc. after using this method, I only use hair butters (no added water) or oils when I twist my hair after removing the bands. If you use a water based product like a moisturizing cream or twisting butter your hair will start to shrink again. Just wanted to give a heads up and be sure to check the ingredients first before you start twisting. * Of course this only applies to those that want as much length or stretch possible using this method. Sometimes I moisturize and retwist with a light cream between wash days and my hair shrinks a little. Hope this helps 💕
What is the brand you use for your bands?
How long does the stretch last?
My Natural Sistas Yesss I Will Definitely Try This Method I Have The Same Hair Texture Love Love My 4c Sisters And I Love My Shrinkage💞💞💞💖💖💖💖💪💪💪💪
My Natural Sistas Thanks for the heads up! I’m going to try it. Your hair is gorgeous!!!
What products do you use to twist the stretched hair so it doesn’t revert?
Process starts at 4:10
Truth Johns thank you so much!

@@MyNaturalSistas Boy I'm confused ! Are you 4a, b or c ?
@Teal Bunnies Yeah, I realize that but I've gotten responses from 2yr old videos before. All they have to do is check the notifications that is if they are not deceased. I have also gotten surprise responses to my comments on 2 yr plus old music videos.
@Teal Bunnies Thanks for reminding me.
Teal Bunnies you seem slow.
Y'all see that before and after in the beginning? Natural hair is crazy amazing.
RealityCheck1993 girl ain’t it amazing!!
Video starts 4:06
Khadija 122 lol thanks that helped a lot
Amazing!! Her hair is simply beautiful both ways but that stretch was serious.
Thank you, Joy! 💕
Omg that fro was giving me everything I need!
Yasss! This is exactly what my hair looks like...my shrinkage is disrespectful. 😊 I do the banding method to stretch.
annettemint omg mines too ugh lol
Ha ha disrespectful shrinkage, that's a good description my shrinkage is sooooo bad that it needs to be spanked, it's so out of order and unkind🤔🤔🤔but pretty!
Don't shrinkage be the truth? Smh...the TRUTH!
The TRUTH!
Gr8ceful Gr8ceful heck yea!
AMEN
It does! Shrinkage is something :) Sometimes people think that I cut my hair or did some major styling superwoman thing. I know when I review some of my older videos and then some of my most recent I am like wow.
That and add knots to it......the horror😱
This is so necessary. I keep getting fairy knots on my hair in it’s natural fro state. I’m looking for a solution and here this video comes! Thanks for the tips.
Glad this helped Briana! I just CAN’T with fairy knots! They’ll have me dusting my ends with a quickness.
Same!!
BrianaBLuvsYou Right! Saving the day.
I wear my hair in its natural fro state and I do not get single strand knots or tangles. These tips might help: Avoid butters (Shea, mango, cocoa) in ingredients of moisturizers and avoid in deep conditioners, use a more hydrating deep conditioner (Matrix Biolage Balm), wet hair more often (with aloe + water or rosewater Spritz), use more moisturizing products (Qhemet Biologics Amla heavy cream or their Burdock root cream), stop twisting or braiding your hair for at least one month, finger detangle only. These tips should help increase your moisture levels. Once they increase, you can start detangling with tools (on dry hair), but don’t detangle with tools on wet hair. I used to get single strand knots all the time when I was twisting/braiding my hair every week and using products with butters. My texture was also dull and undefined. Now, I have zero single strand knots and my texture is shinier and defined. It is about moisture, avoiding coating products and training your texture to naturally clump without tangling.
Minimal Assembly thank you for the amazing tips I'm definitely going to follow those tips
Can we just appreciate your brows for a moment! Beautiful hair and great results from stretching 😊
HairCandy Kina oh wow..thanx.. her brows are perfection...love it.. yesss!! any tips on brows my sister?
They are perfection!
I stretch my hair with 4 twists that I make and bobby pinning them in different directions on my head. Best way for me to stretch my hair using no heat
Taylor Symone I do the same
Honey Ti me too
Good idea!!!
If this aint goals.
Your hair is hair goals for me. I would love to be able to wear my twists in a half up half down hair do if my hair was long enough
Black women are magicians lmao this is amazing I’m going to try it. Much love 💜
I'm a fan of 22nd Century Natural Woman as well. I've incorporated banding with my girls and myself and it's a wonderful thing. She's great and so are you!
I band my hair every wash day it also helps with length retention. And yes like you said less knots and tangles which I love lol! Your hair has grown so much 😍🙌🏾
I’m just now seeing this and girl you got me adding: “get my hair game up” to my goals list! I will be doing this every other Sunday.
Love your stretching method, been doing it for a year & have seen significant hair growth! Thanks so much for your videos!💕
I have yet to try the banding method. Love the way your hair came out in the twist out 😀❤
Thanks, JaVonna!

I've been heat free for almost 2 years now! I band my wash n gos and whenever I want a heatless blowout!! #teamnoheat
Terri Jones same here sister no heat on this hair!
Thank you for this, I have been struggling so much to stretch my hair. I don't use heat at all anymore except to deep condition so this might help as I am still in the awkward length phase of my journey. Keep doing what you are doing, you are all awesome! This is one of my favorite channels!
You and your hair are absolutely gorgeous!!!
Thank you omg I’ve been looking for ways to stretch my hair and it never crossed my mind to use this method🙌🏾
I’m gonna try! This maybe the solution I’m looking for. natural hair can absolutely be simplified! Thank you sis
Your hair looks amazing!! I have done this method before but not with so many hair ties. I will try this method the next time I want my hair stretched ❤
I absolutely love it! I’m going to try it this weekend! 😊❤️
I luv the results. Thanks for such a helpful video. I'm going to try it on my wash day tomorrow.
Absolutely cannot wait to try this!! Your results are everythingggg!!
Your hair is so beautiful, and so are you. I am two years in being natural and just had it cut and shaped, and my hair is pretty short. Not twa short but short. I can’t wait to retain some length to give this method a try!
This is my favorite method so far. I don't like over the top styles and overly complicated tutorials. You have my vote. Short and simple.
Thanks for sharing this! Fabulous results! Love your hair!
can’t wait to try this tysm
YESSS on this method!!! I keep my hair in a stretched state too! I will definitely be trying this on wash day next week!
thank you so much for this and for adding the note about what you use to twist after this method! your hair looks gorgeous!
Beautiful hair! You all do a really good job maintaining your natural hair.
Yes ma’am I so needed this tutorial! I’m trying this tomorrow
Your hair is looking so good! Love it!
Im just watching this to show support. My hair isn’t at this length, so I clearly need to go back and check out your previous stretching method.
Thanks so much for sharing this video!! I am definitely going to try this method on my next hair wash day! Lord knows that I hate wash day and this will make it much easier for me!!
I will try this method! I have the same textured hair as you and have trouble with my hair. You're a life saver 😍!
I have been loosely banding in 5 sections, but now I’m gonna try this method to get more stretch 🙌🏽
You were my inspiration to go natural 5 years ago. Every time I think about turning back to the creamy crack you find a way to reinspire 👀🤔 (my own word, just go with it. Lol) me! Thanks for all the tips over the years. You and your sisters are so amazing! Thanks for sharing boo. 😘
Your hair is beautiful either way. After I watch this video I hopped right in the shower and did the same method as you. Can't wait to see what it looks like tomorrow. Keep up the good work 😉👍❤
Girl you are GORGEOUS! Hair included :)
You are so gorgeous girlie! Loved this! I’m definitely going to have to try this. Thanks for sharing India. 🤗
I used blow dryer to stretch my hair, but now I’m gonna try this method 😃. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Your hair is GORGEOUS! I’m sending your video to my daughter. She has very thick hair. Her hair has never been permed or hot pressed.
Awesome! I cannot wait to try this!
You talkin bout someone else's hair being goals... YOUR HAIR IS GOALS!!
I just recently big chopped and can't wait to have long hair again.
Omg! You are so gorgeous 🥰🤩Thanku for sharing this !
I LOOOOOOVE 22nd Century Natural Woman!!!!!!! Her shampoo bars are the truth🙌🏾🙌🏾
This is right in the nick of time! I've been looking for a way to stretch my hair
I've never tried this method but I definitely will now. I usually do braids then clip them back so they don't shrink too much.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'm excited to try this out soon
Just washed my hair so I'm definitely about to try this lol!
I love this technique it just that my hair takes forever to dry. Your hair is beautiful.
India your hair is my goal! I have not seriously tried the banding method but have watched enough videos on it to start the movement LOL
Pretty I was not expecting your hair to fluff out like that!
This video is everything I needed 🙌🏾😩
definetly going to try this method! ive been using too much heat blowing my hair out so i'm gonna do this for some love and care haha
I will definitely be trying this. Thank you for sharing
Yes Girl it help I will try it I feel my hair is more manageable also stretched out its so thick!
Definitely trying this thanks Queen!
I stretch my hair with yarn, basically the African threading method, but with yarn lol Also, I love 22nd Century Woman's channel. Love your hair, and thanks for sharing
Same here. So much easier than banding for me. My hair wraps around those things like nobodies business, which makes taking them out a chore and threading is so much quicker!
I've just recently started to use the banding method for my wash n go's and it works well!
I'm definitely going to try this stretched twistout
Thank you! I was really looking for a heartless blow out and you came through lol... I will try this out next wash day.
I'm going to try this method. Thanks for sharing.
What an incredible idea!!! Trying this too👏🏾
You and your hair are beautiful! You've been goals for years hun lol.
Beautiful hair! 😍... my hair goals! Thanks for this video. I have horrible shrinkage and have been looking for a way to keep the stretched look, but the only way I can achieve mine is by twisting it dry or damp and not wet, so thanks.
Needed this video.... Definitely going to try.
My shrinkage is REAL so imma try this stretching method!
Wash day is coming up for me, so going to try this.
Your shrinkage is wild lol encouraging
I have lots of African thread that I used once and I need to get back to using it again 💞STOP being LAZY! Thinking about using those bands too 👍🏾
LOVE IT! Beautiful sis!
Really cool. I'm going to try this!!!
Great video. Great method. I used this method two years ago (learned it from 22nd Century Natural Woman) and had the most growth too during that time. I moisturized with coconut oil, liquid silk, and argon oil, sealed with shea butter, and left it banded all week in about 5 to 8 sections depending on how full or less full I wanted my hair to look when I took it out. I cut my hair last year and stopped banding it, but recently decided to start doing it again. If one doesn't mind the separated banding or doesn't have enough twisties to do the threaded look, overlapping the ends each time you add a new band makes the wave pattern more uniformed.
This technique just changed my life period
Why you just saved my life! 🤣🤣 I love it!
Thank you! I love your hair!❤
I tried this method before I enjoyed the results. But now you make me want to try it again then do a twistout! Your twistout was so shiny and full and just everything I want in a twist out! Everytime I do twist outs on wet hair it shrinks sooo much and detangling afterwards is horrible. I prefer braid outs over twist outs because it is more stretched but definitely going to try the banding method maybe with a silk ribbon instead. Thanks love 😘😍
I’ve tried banding before a with the gaps. When I take my crochet out, I will try this method
Going to the store to pick up some bands. This is such a simple way to get stretched type 4 hair.
This is the same method I used to stretch my locks, and it really worked.
Definitely trying this method. Thanks for sharing..
I am going to try this. I have shorter hair but I’ve been wanting to stretch my hair and do a wash and go
Beautiful hair style and techniques.
Aaawww how pretty are YOU?!? Great video 😊👏🏾
I’m definitely going to try this next wash day. I just need safe bands that don’t pull out my hair.
Ooooooooh look at all that beautiful hair!!!!!!!
Thank you, Beanca! 💕
I took down my protective style and washed my hair last week and I have a lot of shrinkage and I’m so glad I came across this video because I need to stretch and twist my hair . I get a lot of knots and tangles when I let my hair shrink . I have 4a hair .
THANK YOU SIS!!!!!!!!!!
I will be trying this this tomorrow!!!
Your hair is gorgeous!!!💖💖💖
Beautiful girl with beautiful hair; & this was so well presented & encouraging! Thank you.
i honestly love this video.
