that container roof is bowing your not crazy
most def
Just throw a tape on the inside and measure....
Wet dirt, per googling, is about 100-120 lbs per cubic foot. So 4" is maybe 30 lbs per. 20 foot container, 8 foot wide, 160 square feet times 30 lbs per = 4800 lbs. It's bowing now and it's not wet yet.
More metal reinforcement must be costly
Gonna open like a zipper and bury everything in that container
And 9 months after Booty Snapple Fest, there is a baby boom, and the Demolitia grows.
Rain is going to Wash that top layer right off. there was a guy in the last comments who built many of these and said a 'roll cage-like' structure needs to be on the inside!
This 👆🏻
Yup, I agree. That container needs some serious beefing up.
A structural engineer should probably engineer the structure
Lets be honest he half asses alot of things. Like all these over priced camping spots.
@@kylefitzherbert9381 womp womp people still brought it
Matt, you should.Take.The shelves and continue them all the way up to the.Roof With a 2 by 4 header that runs front to back.
Yep. Making the shelves structural is what I would have done.
You should set up a merch booth and sell eclipse glasses and shirts
he most likely will
That's a great idea, wonder why Matt hasn't thought of that!
Considering he’s the guy making merch for 30 or so channels, I’m guessing he thought of that.
He sends help to other UA-camrs at events to help with their merch booth… there going to be a huge tent with a lot of merch.
I am jealous of no one, but I’d like to have his bank account, house, resort property….
In his first eclipse video he mentioned he would have merch available as well as possibly a band and food trucks
Bon Fire Fest . Looks like a lot of wood will be cleaned up. Hey how about putting it in one big pile and instead of burning it ahead of time you save it for Sunday night and everyone camping can come and enjoy a warming fire to celebrate the event.
Everyone enjoys a large fire and puts the wood to a great cause. Anyone else thinking this would be good?

USA is such a dumb country, imagine having to sign legal documents when you simply want to visit a resort. In the rest of the world we use common sense. If you go and hike in the woods and trip and break ur leg, that's on you, it's pretty damn obvious that there are risks involved. In the US though, u can sue the property owner....
@@baud1990stop spreading misinformation, the range isn't open, you can bring your personal carry, just can't shoot yet
If the roof on that container is looking a bit bowed, just use wooden props and beams internally. If that will hold up a mineshaft it will hold up your roof and it is a simple retro fix that shouldn't get in the way.
Maybe do a big screen and projector for a movie night at the range? It just looks like the perfect spot for it.
Resort is coming along great! Maybe reinforce the container on the inside?
It seems a couple of well placed posts in interior would go a long way.
That's crazy and he probably didn't think about that completely obvious idea
I was thinking the same thing. Made no sense to reinforce on the outside to me..
Some 2x6 joists supported by 2x4s at each end would be enough. The 2x4s on the ends might even fit in the corrugations of the steel walls.
@@TheGrahamReaper21
He did place a pole inside the length of the container that wasn't there in the previous video.

600 to 800 dollars.....yeah sorry that is stupid crazy
But you can have 6 people for that $600 so not bad
Glad to see you are planning medical coverage! Wish I was able to come down! Have a blast!!!
600 bucks for a tent site Jesus that's way over priced
I'm curious to see how the roof on the container holds up once during a heavy rain. That dirt will get significantly heavier.
hey ya don't know till ya try. but it is not going to end well for the container the way it is. Needs a roll cage inside. I don't know whey he didn't just paint it brown to blend in.
@@hawks2252I bet they end up painting the exposed area afterwards, if it doesn't collapse first. Only time, and a little more weight, will tell. They need to have some type of strobe light indicating if someone's inside the container, just so they'll know if they need to recover someone if it collapses.
love how its all coming together for this event! great practice run for the future. make sure you organize a big debrief after the event, and all of the teams know before the event. even getting notes from the food trucks/bands etc. every little bit of feed back on this one is going to help you plan the future.
I’m I just a cheapskate. Or is $600 a lot for a piece of dirt? That’s for a small lot.
Ur cheap
600$ for 2 nights is crazy, and that’s the starting price? Sheesh too expensive man
Between 6 people I believe
$600 is quite a lot with no amenities and no firearms allowed? Damn I don’t travel without one so that’s a no go
he said in a tweet the other day "Also, everyone’s commenting about no guns. I just said you can’t shoot guns, I said we can’t do the range. We just don’t have the manpower to run the eclipse event and a range event at the same time yet. No one said you have to leave your concealed carry at home. 🫡"
@@cmorin543 oh I missed him saying that. I went to sign up for it and it said no fire pits and no firearms so I thought that was strange but thanks for that info
Im 100% behind the majority of the things Matt does and no matter how many spots were offered at whatever price im positive this event would have filled up day 1. Seeing the prices and matt specifically saying "we priced them at what we would have been ok paying." Really surprises me he seems like a generally frugal minded person when looking at his day to day like getting a toaster for xmas and being ok with it. And he may be well underselling the amenities. But $300-$400/night for a dirt patch and some portopoties is disapointing to see. I know this community will continue to show up and im happy for him but dang.
Damn I’d love to go but $300 a night is steep for a camp sight. Have fun yall that go
it is not 300. It is 6.... 600
I agree. But it's all inclusive. Still steep. But it's pretty cool to get to experience that AND support the project at the same time.
@@j.a.r.family2576i dont think you know what all inclusive means lmao
@@CraigG-gb6dz it's 2 nights for 600 so he said $300 a night.
I mean, if that includes the food trucks too, it's 100% worth it. He said that each spot can have up to 8 people so that's $75 pp for the event.
This resort is gonna be a must-see TX landmark like a Buc-ees or the Czech stand.
Congrats Matt & crew! Yall deserve all the success!
Since this eclipse event is turning out to be so successful you should schedule more solar eclipse's so you can do this again, perhaps a quarterly eclipse event! Maybe mix it up a bit with a few lunar eclipse too. Just trying to help
GENIUS!!!!! Doing this for sure
You can give out glasses worn by the blind. Those make everything go dark.... just tell everyone at noon to put them on.

The glasses will help, but don't worry, once the eclipse is over you'll be able to safely stare into the sun again.😏
Next on is Nibiru :-0
800 for a piece of grass😂
for real I was expecting maybe 300 on the high end. Ridiculous pricing
Matt, you should have the Bunker Branding merch tent with an Eclipse at Desperato shirt
I'd be willing to bet the presses at Bunker Branding are going full tilt right now getting ready.
I don't mean to offend but are those prices not ridiculously overpriced? If I compare it with camp ground prices in Europe I could stay a month or even two (with toilets and shower access) for the price charged here for two nights. Even if I compare it with large 3 day festivals they cost a fraction of your tent only option and they will have international known bands. Looking at your pistolero course, the same thing, it feels to me completely overpriced, although for that I am not quite sure if the equipment listed is part of the package or needs to be brought (is ammunition included?).
Again I don't mean to offend, I just want to understand if this is normal pricing in the US.
Have you ever thought of building a shoot house for the police to train house clearance drills and things like that. I'm sure you could make Demo Ranch videos with it too.
Yes! The government/police are training at the ranch for the next time they need to shut down your church.
thing he did mention it as a possible future plan, I might have been part of the building he wants to make from more shipping containers

Man I was hoping to stay at the resort one day but dang prices are looking way out of my price range im to poor lol
Same here, if this is any indication of future prices..
Normal weeks won't be this high, it's an eclipse weekend, everywhere is expensive. He will have taken the advice of the resort manager on pricing.
@@marvindebot3264 Even hotel rooms in Daytona Beach aren't that expensive during Bike Week!!
You may want to consider hiring a sport/football field line painter to draw the camping/parking sites.
Also, consider a bon fire after the eclipse.
Most festivals just use wooden sticks with little colored flags or even string to mark out boundaries.
$600 to $800 to sit on a piece of dirt? Come on! WTF?
😂😂😂
Matt, if you a question about shipping containers, just ask me, we have GLO's ground level office's with HVAC, and G3's with a rest room. I have been dealing with containers for 22 years.
LMAO 600 for a tent site ??
Not bad at all if you ask me it’s a 3 day stay. Wild lifers will have an amazing time for that 600. Wonna bet?
Just stabilize the container from the inside. Like a mine shaft.
Those welded on supports should have been added to the inside and welded to the much heavier gauge walls. The roof is not meant to be load bearing. When these containers are stacked on the ship, the corner blocks bear all the weight.
$600 ya not gonna happen dude. Good luck
Better specify that food is not free or included in the price of the rental .
I came here to say that.
whoah... $600.00? Looks like the economy is doing quite in TX

If its basically 300 bucks a night for a tent spot then Id hate to see the price for a room when this place is up and running holy shit matt that price is ridiculous.
$800 to park in a field for 2 days.. dang I'm in the wrong business! Congrats Matt!
Really?
Yeah I was like dang that's a lot more than I thought. But, supply and demand and there seems to be plenty of demand.
wow - I'm way out of touch with the price of things. I guess I better ask for a raise at work. My brother gives me a hard time because all my drill bits are short. Well I sharpen em till I find a new one.
$600 for just a tent spot. I didn't see what the original spots went for.
and no guarantees on clear skies. I’m sure it’ll be fun either way though. I’ve got a place in SE Oklahoma that’ll get a 98.9% eclipse so good enough.👍
$600, $700, $800... Just what I was worried about with Matt opening a resort. Matt has no idea what reasonable pricing is. Makes me worry even more what the pricing will become, once the resort becomes fully functional.
Matt said; "we priced them at what we would have been ok paying."
So I guess it's 'reasonable' to millionaires like him!
Hey matt, lots of appreciation here from the uk for all these videos. thank you
I concur. 🇳🇿 😎
Wish i could afford 600 dollar tent spot but i cant
Dont level the ground, leave it alone. It is stable soil and if you mess with it and it rains, that field will be terrible.

Matt, don't forget dumpsters. Going to be lots of trash.

Once that area is cleared it’ll be great for outdoor festivals too.
I hope the camping prices for the eclipse doesn’t reflect what it’ll be when it’s “fully” equipped and open.
Ok I wanted to say this last video. You need to make that connex safe. Over time the dirt will get heavier. As it rains the dirt will absorb it and make it heavier especially with it being loose material it will hold more water. Not to mention begin to rust. Get some support in there…
Yup, ones I have buried have a 2x6 RHS exo skeleton on top and sides, get sandblasted and coated in an epoxy designed to be used on wet and buried metal. We then put a layer of vehicular underbody rustproofing over that.
Hey Matt, just a reminder you want to get someone out cutting a BUNCH of wood for bonfires. Most people don't bring their own and they will want fires. Be prepared!!! 😃
$600 for two night camping spot. Ouch. We have a room on a lake in the path. $600 and we are there for 10 nights. Even has a private boat ramp for the lake and a restaurant right next door.
But you don't support the resort and you don't get to mingle with demolitia. It has pros and cons for sure.
I was thinking insurance and any vendor fees and many incidentals. Someone was guaranteed to gripe about the cost.
I assume Matt is thinking per person. So if there’s 2 people camping it’s only $300 each, $150 each per night. Doesn’t seem too bad considering what he’s putting on.
Looked up tent camping at other established resorts in the general area. 79$ a night. 600$ is a long way from $237. Dave R would not approve of me spending this much.
@@emma_m0 It's definitely going to compare unfavorably to a campsite pricing, but this is more like a miniature weekend festival at this point. 2 days of music and barbecue and tents.
Talk to Granger, Maybe he'd be willing to provide some music as well...
Clint is the man for pumping out a booty snapple shirt that fast.....(see what I did there?) 😂😂😂 You should see if Dylan Sitts will come and perform yeehaw slap at bootysnapple fest that would be amazing 😂😂
It would but he's based in Brooklyn so that may be a big ask.
You might set up a large bonfire area near the center for groups of people to get together and talk. It would be supervised and would shut down at a certain time. I am assuming there will be no alcohol allowed. You will need to patrol the river to keep kids from sneaking off and falling in. You may have to patrol the area to keep people from wandering to far from camp. Security is going to be tough. Hopefully most people will use common sense, but there always a few who don't. Wish I could be there, but unfortunately I can't. GOOD LUCK!
Why not a big BBQ for everyone who wants to buy in .????? You could have it at big bon fire as someone else suggested
Matt you're going to need a corrugated tin roof over the container. Rain will collect between the ridges and rot the metal awfully fast. I think it'd look nicer as well.
Shed water and will provide the shade you want.
*UNDER PROMISE OVER DELIVER* *CATER*
Maybe you can have light duty cleaning events for all who show up who want to help you a little. Ask them to put any and all sticks they find either burnt in their little camp fires or to a few centralized areas.
Get a Carnival while you're at it!!!! Your not going to be using the range perfect place to have a small carnival set up...
