Matt a jet ski is a terrible idea. I'm on the brazos river and learned the hard way. The intake grate gets clogged very quickly then you have to jump off and clear the grate while floating down a flooding river. It very easily could've taken my life that day

You should have a jug for people to "donate" to something on the ranch. Could be new picnic tables, new chairs, new over head tents, new stage anything. I think your people will help and would love to be a part of the whole thing.
@Ahiandamospues probably not. Although, 2 points. 1. A resort is EXPENSIVE 2. Some of us would love to be a part of the life of the Desperado ranch. In a small way

I also recommend placing water level markers around the edge of the river. Not like the black and white poles used to measure the height of the water, but land markers to show how high the water got, like a 4x4 post driven into the ground at the highest water level, and the date/year stamped in the wood. "If you are standing here in heavy rain, move away." That is what those markers say. Super cheap, and effective way to warn people, it is something you can do for your guests that will keep them just that little bit safer while enjoying your resort.

That is a minor flood. 2007 had it flowing like that but crystal clear as it was all spring flow, not runoff. It had been about 12 feet higher during the flash flood. It was about 10 feet from the US 281 Bridge. 1978 and 1987 were even greater.

Matt I appraise on the accomplishments that he has done three years I am proud to know and to be one of your major followers I am planning sometime this summer to come down and spend quite a few days there on the resort love you brother keep it up
Hey Matt, not sure how much you know about real estate BUT once your fully up and operational, you have a good cash flow coming in, if you register the resort as a corporation you could build some full term, private living quarters and have a cooperative set up. Your shareholders in the corporation would get a lease to their individual co-op. Good way to have some investors and regulatory cash flow. And since it’s a resort, offering private living for shareholders makes sense 😊
You need some utility side by sides on the abandoned resort to help out. I know the big brand companies like Polaris, Yamaha, Honda, John Deere/Gator etc would be very willing to get behind this kind of project & you.
When they open the locks on the river by my house they had a bridge 5 miles downstream. It took the water an hour and a half to get there so you probably looking at 15 to 20 hours to start seeing it

@@ReflectivitytivitcelfeR .. yeah... scientist actually *know* all about those natural variables. The world on fire thing isn't one of those, that's man made. And that's true no matter which way you read it ;) Seriously though, the fact we're breaking global average temperatures not once, not twice but three times in one year.. ow and sadly for some people, those awful scientist are pretty clear about the cause, and it's not called 'unknown'. I wish it wasn't so, don't really mind a few degrees warmer if that were all but while we're breaking temperature records the days without an overcast are few in between. That's not what I had in mind with 'warmer weather' somehow I still hoped it meant we would have that 'tropical beach picture' weather and sadly that isn't the case at all. And everything we're now seeing is mild, it's all atmosphere changes. Bit warmer, more evaporation and thus more overcast. The big thing will be when the ocean currents stop distributing heat. Europe will go into another ice-age, and central america will have it's heat trapped there. Warmer water equals more energy equals more and bigger storms. Till now we just have some irregular precipitation. There was a underwater volcano eruption in the Pacific Ocean, the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano, in Tonga, many hundreds of miles off the coast of Australia and New Zealand. That happened in the beginning of 2022. Due to the nature of the underwater volcano, it threw up many, many, many, many millions of tons of water into our atmosphere, which spread all across the globe. This has caused a greenhouse effect that is still present today. NASA has estimated the climate effect from this volcano to be active for another 5 years from today, 7 years in total. Turns out, water in our atmopshere takes significantly longer to dissipate than ash and dust. The Hunga Tonga - Hunga Ha'apai eruption is in the top 100 eruptions in the last 12,000 years. It was the largest volcanic eruption of your lifetime, and you may never see another one like it for the rest of your life. Possibly. Note: There was also the customary ash and dust, and other gasses that are associated with above ground volcano eruptions. But that would just be normal. The underwater nature of the Hunga Tonga - Hunga Ha'apai makes it very special. Anyway, you can expect this to continue for a bit longer. Have you noticed? The climate activists have been pretty quiet lately. They are still there, but this volcano eruption really took the wind out of their sails. They can't point to the insane weather and say it is definitively caused by man. Not right now anyway. Not that climate activists are wrong, mind you, we ARE a polluting mess; just that they don't have anything to talk about right now. This kinda wrecked them, really. The facts have encountered other facts, and are at conflict. They'll be back in a few years, when the facts change again.

Glad to see the Guadeloupe is filling back up! Love to see more videos from my favorite UA-camr!
That cave during rain is an epic shower😂👍👍👍🥊
That cave goes DEEP.
Matt I appraise on the accomplishments that he has done three years I am proud to know and to be one of your major followers I am planning sometime this summer to come down and spend quite a few days there on the resort love you brother keep it up
Buddy just told me ur a veterinarian...thats awesome! I always turn in to the channel no matter what random stuff happeing
You need to spray paint demolition ranch logo on the dears side
A spray wound coat would probably be better for Quatro. I know it comes in red, I think blue too. A nice bright orange would be cool too.
They make animal spay dye/paint for marking livestock
Real wood camouflage
Or get a demo ranch collar
Could you imagine a dear with camouflage paint on pmsl
Flash floods are no joke! Grew up in eastern NM, had them every year.
That’s the life, I really enjoy watching your adventures with the resort. It is so cool to watch someone fix up things.
11:57 beautiful old swamp cypress behind you!
Awe so sweet!! You’re a good man Matt!!!
It took the water an hour and a half to get there so you probably looking at 15 to 20 hours to start seeing it
Time to get a side by side fleet for those remote sections that trap your trucks
Always a pleasure to see you smile and to see you happy with your various projects. Love listening to you and appreciate all the time and effort in this videos! Thanks!
I was camping on the Frio in 98' when the water level came up 10 feet in just a few minutes. It rose over 20 feet in under half an hour.
...those two cranes looked a lot like herons...
Take care 👍
There were herons I have two of them in my town and they are mates
Definitely need to put the 12 valve in the limo to finally make the coals royce
I prefer coals rolls
Love texas ❤ peace from Australia
All i can think the whole time is, "Go Matt!" I look forward to every video man.
Matt you need a nice SXS to help out around the desperado, you can tow shit out or hook a small trailer to it!
Cave is cleaning itself now!!!
It's compacting more earth/soil further down the hole 🕳️
@samuelgarrod8327 it would pool up. I think it's washed through an cleaning out .
@@rockkhound943depending upon the contour of the cave. Water speed and amount of sediment. I've been in caves I the Ozarks, before the white nose bat fungus, and parts of them can get narrow and sludged up.
And filling the aquifer.
@@Manco65White nose bat fungus doesn't sound like a good time.
Crazy that Miller is sponsoring Meat Fest.
I think it's pretty fkn awesome.
Although, it would be a great way for Bud Light to offload all those cases THEY didn't sell. 😂
Matt we would sit and watch the river with you every day bud. All the crane content anyone can handle
I love that from time to time, you see the animal lover that made Matt want to become a vet come out. Compassionate, yet realistic...
Float down the river again!!!
I been waiting for this one after hearing about all the rain that area had.
Yea, free beer. What could go wrong? Good luck man.
Don’t need luck with the sheriffs office there as security lol. People aren’t that dumb.
@@OniTakeoverwhen you say ppl aren't that dumb, I get flashbacks of all the stupid shit we been seeing lately. Let's hope your words ring true
Free beer. Yeah, well, they couldn't sell it. Maybe they can give it away.(g)
Hey Matt, if you have an abundance of those large stones you should use them to line the inside of your pond and also stack them to create a waterfall feature into the pond. Just a thought. Great videos.
As a proud Wisconsinite, props to miller for the sponsorship during the media’s BS.
“Although the River Otter is currently found in the eastern half of the state, it was probably once distributed throughout the Panhandle, north-central, and southern Texas.”
True, nice to see something in Southern waters besides snakes, turtles and alligators.
You should plant some blackberry bushes next to the river. For your guests.
From a drought to floods. The weather is wild lately
@@ReflectivitytivitcelfeR He just said that the weather is wild lately, which is a valid point. He haven't said anything about climate change or whatever. Chill out brother.
@@ReflectivitytivitcelfeRchill bro I'm literally just referring to the past year
@@ReflectivitytivitcelfeR .. yeah... scientist actually *know* all about those natural variables. The world on fire thing isn't one of those, that's man made. And that's true no matter which way you read it ;)
Seriously though, the fact we're breaking global average temperatures not once, not twice but three times in one year.. ow and sadly for some people, those awful scientist are pretty clear about the cause, and it's not called 'unknown'.
The science is clear, there is no 'unknown' unless you been living under a rock for the past decades *OR* you're one of those 'independent thinkers' 🙃
@@ReflectivitytivitcelfeR Dude... the man is just commenting on how the weather has been wilder than what is normally expected... You would say the same thing if a tornado blew through your town when on average that town doesn't get tornados but every other decade.
One of the best things you can say about the Holden Brothers is, they're brothers! 😂🤣😄 🙂🤘
Seriously, though... those brothers are cool! And, they seem to know what they're talking about, and doing. It is, always, a true pleasure to see people who love their jobs, doing their jobs. 🤘
Miller light sponsor is insane Matt !!!!!
You are absolutely building your name and brand.
Let's keep the ball rolling brother.
That animal was definitely the elusive Texas chainsaw loch Ness monster... Did you see how it was in the water, Dead giveaway😅
Good luck with Meatfest, I wish I could have been there, sounds like a kick.
Take care everyone.

THem velvet antlers are adorable
South Texas bucks definitely grow bigger than the ones up here in Central Texas.
Concrete picnic tables down at the water wont wash away.
Man, I had 2 covid lay off was boring babies and I've been MIA with the channel for a few years. I use to watch religiously. I've missed out on a lot!
MATT No 😢 please find a way to keep him !!! (quatro)
I don't drink but to have an American Beer company support people who love 2A and America, I'm all in!!
On the bright side, the river was dry last year.
Swings & roundabouts.
As always, best of everything to you and your family Matt
I'll keep you in Prayer Brother Matt 🙏 for the Rain not to be bad
Maybe track Quattro in hunting gear away from the building so he won't recognize you or be scared to come around anymore and tranquilize him long enough to put a collar on him or spray paint his antlers. Also make sure no predators get him while he is down.
There's one channel that I miss watching you on. Which was your Vet stuff. Seeing you attending kitties and puppies, etc.
There’s tons of that rubbish, I miss the gun channel being free
@patrickancona1193 how is the gun channel not free?
@@patrickancona1193His Vet Ranch Channel came First 😊
Sorry, Matt, I did a ran dance here in Leander, TX, to help fill the lake... looks like it may have made its way over there. lol
Be careful. With great power comes great responsibility!
Wish we had some of that rain. Hasn't rained up here in over 2 months. It sprinkled for about 1 hour this past Tuesday that it didn't help. Just praying that our old well doesn't dry up.
Probably some killer arrowheads on your property. Great video
Sasquatch! Windingo! Elvis!
It's all very cryptic.
24:04, I see what you did there. "What can be, unburdened by what has been." Lol. What a joke. And you just provided the Crane content I didn't know I needed!
matt i laughed so much when you put that kamala joke in the end!!
Which joke, what did I miss?
Im pretty sure that was the joke. That he didnt make a joke. @@Wutzibutzi100
Put a hunter orange collar with an air tag so you can track Quattro
A couple loads of loam material spread out near the water would definitely help, and not expensive
Good day Matt hope you are well😊
