The eclipse event was a big success! I have a few “shout-outs”: MATT was incredible. He was laid-back and fun, taking pictures with anyone who asked. He hung out with everyone during the event and even played football with my kids. Great guy, with a great attitude. CAMERON is the new Resort Manager. At least three times (once to me), I heard Cameron say “Oh, don’t worry about that; we will take care of it for you.” Then, he took care of it. Matt’s positive outlook and customer-focused attitude were echoed by every member of the staff - especially Cameron. When Cameron took us on a tour of the property, you could hear his genuine excitement about the plans they have for the resort. Now, I’m excited, too. Sign me up for opening day. The CAVE GUYS set up a super-cool rope swing over the Guadalupe River for the kids to play on - thanks for that! The BAND had my kids dancing all evening until they were out of energy - special thanks for that! And, OKIELEMON provided great food and drinks; so, I never even fired up my camp grill. Great event. Oh yeah… and Matt blocked out the sun during the middle of the day!

What i LOVE LOVE LOVE about this is that its not a sea of "influencers" experiencing the event through their own content creation. You have a pasture full of real people making connections and memories. This is what you and your team needed to boost the motivation to keep working through the challenges. I cant wait to be able to put the Desperado Ranch as a stop on my next USA roadtrip from Australia ❤
There was A LOT of people on Instagram complaining about your pricing. I said and stood by it, it *WILL* sell out! You said it perfectly, the people that showed up weren't there for a good time, they were there to support what you're doing. I'm so glad you have this following, some people don't understand what you're really trying to do. You're killing it, I wish I could have been there but I'm glad to see this amazing footage! By keeping the price high he made sure that the trouble makers would NOT be attending. Guaranteed the whiners on instatrash would have been the ones at the event bitching and causing a problem.
Seeing how some prices exploded I assume ha was in a good average scale just for the two to three nights...but offering a band for three days, games, entertainment and food is a whole different scale. I'm pretty sure that some of those people that complained are those types that complain about the beer price, but would spend hundred bucks of fuel to get there

As a Husband and father of 4 myself 3 of which being girls I completely understand and support your decision to not have your family in your videos anymore but man it is sad and feels so weird to not see Mere and the kids there with you enjoying that like the old days!! His dad Lee and I talked for a long time about Matt's trip from shotguns to resorts, and according to Lee, Matt has always been an amazing person loved by everyone around him. And that feeling is so overwhelming when you actually meet him. He deserves all of his success.
Have been watching since those days and I am still blown away by how much he and everyone has done together. It's madness! Hopefully I can get there one day and get to shake his hand and thank him. As everyone of the comments I've read has said he and the whole team were fantastic. All round good bunch of people.

As the only solo female camper at the event, I give it 5 stars. Family friendly felt totally safe and welcome. Lovely place to camp and enjoy the eclipse. Great vendors, good music, Matt and company are as nice in person as they appear on the channel. Hoping there are more opportunities to visit the ranch in the future. And my American bulldog looks super cute in the video. ❤

I had been waiting to hear how it went, and I really enjoyed the video. It is weird to be this happy that something went so well for someone that you only know about through UA-cam videos. People like the ones in this video are what makes this country great. I hope your success continues. God Bless.
As a 2 decades long festival goer, I have 2 advices for future things like that. 1) Have a dedicated parking lot for vehicles you don't sleep in, better communal feeling and less chances of accidentally damaging stuff while horsing around. 2) More lights in the dark. To find the porta potties at night and stuff. Camping torches to outline the ways are cheap and work. Spots on the trees work too and are a bit more fancy plus you can get really creative with colors. Anyways good job for your first gig, had everything you'll need there. Food, stalls, medics, security and entertainment!

My family was hanging out on our back porch during the eclipse down here in Allen, TX. We kept yelling at the clouds as they blocked our view of the different phases of the eclipse. There was a really good break in the clouds for the total eclipse, and then after it was over, the clouds closed up and we got some really cool looking pictures of the clouds lit up by the unique light being put off by the eclipse. I'm thankful the weather held out so that we could see it.
Oh I know I really want to go too can't wait to see how this resort comes together I have a feeling he's going to find something really good with how he's digging out the back fill in these caves just another cool way to have an attraction on the land can't lie I looked at it at the start and thought oh my goodness just the scale of running a resort is far more than one would expect between kitchen staff cleaning staff lawn Care planning the events maintenance and then construction on top of it I mean I need to know for a fact there's so much more that I'm missing I hope he does very well with this I'm very happy he finally got his house completely done that was the big one they'll do just fine 😎😎👍
I genuinely don't understand how people who are mad they don't get to see Matt's wife and kids anymore (super creepy btw) don't get that they are the reason Matt and Mere made the decision to take the family off camera. I personally think they made the right choice and wish the Carrikers the best of luck! Hope to stay at the resort one day also, looks awesome!
Was definitely looking forward to seeing this video! I know Matt downplayed it, but the reality is that all of the people out there are people who are fans, and who are sharing in his vision of what the resort will be some day. Reading the comments of people who were there, it definitely shows that he's cultivated a group of people of character and integrity, and it shows. There's a love there that can't be imitated, and I look forward to seeing Matt's dreams fulfilled!

What a wonderful experience you provided for so many people Matt. Once in a lifetime experience for most people. I saw the total eclipse in February of 1979. I was a young high school teacher out on the Washington coast. All 250 kids in the high school and junior high were standing on the front lawn of the high school when it went totally dark. Now all of those kids are in their late 50's and I am 70 years old. I was 26 way back then.
Every now and then on our local river we have a rubber ducky race . The ducks are numbered and raffled off for charity . Takes awhile for them to float down . Then you have to walk the river collecting the ones cought . And you have to catch all the ones that make it to finishing line .
Had a blast there even when Jenna stole my fur baby Emma haha But Emma Really Liked Her you guys are Awesome everyone I talked to was very friendly I can’t wait for the next event… I Am So Glad I Got To Meet You
We got lucky in SE Missouri. Had a little bit of thin clouds, but I took a bunch of pics of the eclipse through to the very end. The way it gets dark is really trippy, and I heard someone describe it as a 360* sunset. Back in 2017, our house was in the zone of totality, so we saw that one, but my daughter was only 2 then. I was really happy that she got to see this one. Was waiting for this video. Looks like everyone had a great time and glad it went over really well.
I saw one glimpse of a good truck that had a $15 hotdog. That's stupid imo. Hotdogs shouldn't cost over $5 if it's from the back of a truck. Who are they trying to kid with that price for a lousy hotdog.

His dad Lee and I talked for a long time about Matt's trip from shotguns to resorts, and according to Lee, Matt has always been an amazing person loved by everyone around him. And that feeling is so overwhelming when you actually meet him. He deserves all of his success.
Have been watching since those days and I am still blown away by how much he and everyone has done together. It's madness! Hopefully I can get there one day and get to shake his hand and thank him. As everyone of the comments I've read has said he and the whole team were fantastic. All round good bunch of people.

As the only solo female camper at the event, I give it 5 stars. Family friendly felt totally safe and welcome. Lovely place to camp and enjoy the eclipse. Great vendors, good music, Matt and company are as nice in person as they appear on the channel. Hoping there are more opportunities to visit the ranch in the future. And my American bulldog looks super cute in the video. ❤

Skydivers were trysting set records during totality in Pocahontas, Arkansas!!

As a 2 decades long festival goer, I have 2 advices for future things like that. 1) Have a dedicated parking lot for vehicles you don't sleep in, better communal feeling and less chances of accidentally damaging stuff while horsing around. 2) More lights in the dark. To find the porta potties at night and stuff. Camping torches to outline the ways are cheap and work. Spots on the trees work too and are a bit more fancy plus you can get really creative with colors. Anyways good job for your first gig, had everything you'll need there. Food, stalls, medics, security and entertainment!
The Demolitia doesn't need camping torches; we all have EDC flashlights. And, our guns were in our cars/trucks -- so, they needed to stay close. :)

My family was hanging out on our back porch during the eclipse down here in Allen, TX. We kept yelling at the clouds as they blocked our view of the different phases of the eclipse. There was a really good break in the clouds for the total eclipse, and then after it was over, the clouds closed up and we got some really cool looking pictures of the clouds lit up by the unique light being put off by the eclipse. I'm thankful the weather held out so that we could see it.
You got little over two months to set up for 4th of July, just saying 🤷🏻♂️

Oh I know I really want to go too can't wait to see how this resort comes together I have a feeling he's going to find something really good with how he's digging out the back fill in these caves just another cool way to have an attraction on the land can't lie I looked at it at the start and thought oh my goodness just the scale of running a resort is far more than one would expect between kitchen staff cleaning staff lawn Care planning the events maintenance and then construction on top of it I mean I need to know for a fact there's so much more that I'm missing I hope he does very well with this I'm very happy he finally got his house completely done that was the big one they'll do just fine 😎😎👍
I genuinely don't understand how people who are mad they don't get to see Matt's wife and kids anymore (super creepy btw) don't get that they are the reason Matt and Mere made the decision to take the family off camera. I personally think they made the right choice and wish the Carrikers the best of luck! Hope to stay at the resort one day also, looks awesome!

Was definitely looking forward to seeing this video! I know Matt downplayed it, but the reality is that all of the people out there are people who are fans, and who are sharing in his vision of what the resort will be some day. Reading the comments of people who were there, it definitely shows that he's cultivated a group of people of character and integrity, and it shows. There's a love there that can't be imitated, and I look forward to seeing Matt's dreams fulfilled!

We hope you get to see this comment but my kids and I have been watching Demolition Ranch for almost 6 years, and although we didn't follow the abandoned mansion vids, my wife even joined in and we have watched all of the resort videos from day one! What a wonderful experience you provided for so many people Matt. Once in a lifetime experience for most people. I saw the total eclipse in February of 1979. I was a young high school teacher out on the Washington coast. All 250 kids in the high school and junior high were standing on the front lawn of the high school when it went totally dark. Now all of those kids are in their late 50's and I am 70 years old. I was 26 way back then.
Every now and then on our local river we have a rubber ducky race . The ducks are numbered and raffled off for charity . Takes awhile for them to float down . Then you have to walk the river collecting the ones cought . And you have to catch all the ones that make it to finishing line .
Cant wait for the email for the resort soft open. Will gladly do it again.

We got lucky in SE Missouri. Had a little bit of thin clouds, but I took a bunch of pics of the eclipse through to the very end. The way it gets dark is really trippy, and I heard someone describe it as a 360* sunset. Back in 2017, our house was in the zone of totality, so we saw that one, but my daughter was only 2 then. I was really happy that she got to see this one.

I was in a hospital meeting my son for the first time during the eclipse. It wasnt a full eclipse here anyway. Well worth missing.
