How to Stop Parkinson’s Disease Head Tremors

- If you have Parkinson’s disease and your head or jaw is shaking or you have head tremors, this video might help you.
When you have Parkinson’s disease, you might have observed that your head shakes or you have tremors with your head. But this might not be the case. It could be that it is just your jaw that is shaking or trembling because headshaking is not an indication of Parkinson’s disease. It is more common with essential tremors. The tremors that are found with Parkinson’s disease usually happens when you are at rest or not moving. They are what do you call resting tremors.
The exercises that we are going to do today is to train our brain to do those large movements even with our neck and our mouth, specifically our jaw. The exercises will hopefully help you have smoother and better head and neck movements. Before we start record or video yourself while you are just sitting on your chair with your head unsupported. One minute of video should be enough and then towards the end of the exercises you need to record yourself again to compare if there is an improvement.
The Neck and Jaw Exercises are as Follows:
1. Look up and down - Look up bringing your chin up towards the ceiling and then look down bringing your chin towards your chest.
2. Look side to side - Turn your head side to side
3. Diagonal head movements - Turn your head up towards The left then bring your head down to watch her right shoulder.
4. Neck circles - Rotate your head in circles. 10 clockwise and 10 counterclockwise
5. Ear to shoulder - bend your head trying to touch your ear towards your.
6. Neck retraction - Sit up straight and try to touch the back of your head to the wall.
7. Opening and closing your mouth - Open your mouth as wide as again. Make sure you don’t overdo do it and dislocate your jaw.
8. Jaw side to side - Slightly open your mouth and bring your jaw side to side.
9. Jaw protrusion - Slightly open your mouth and protrude your lower jaw forward and bring it back to resting position.

Wow ur great. I was just doing the neck exercises and when I stopped my neck felt refreshed. Now I don't know if I have essential or parkinson's. Because when I'm sitting I don't always shake

My tremor come from the neck and the nerve shaking behind the head means is closer to the neck.When I lie down, my nerve is also shaking, but when I start to fall asleep,the nerve come down.

These are basic Karate warm up exercises for Neck which are doing we - Karate Masters, Me for 30yrs. But i didnt know its good for Escential Tremours (head).....!! My father suffering head Tremours, i will give it to him....Thanks bro...❤ ❤

I feel that the neck stress was relieved, I will practice this and see what the long term effects are.
It doesn't work. Resting tremor is a movement and that can't be reduced by doing more movements . I'm sorry to say that this guy doesn't have any idea about the mechanism of head and neck tremor.
@@delorean9257 It does make the head and neck more relaxed, it also trains the muscles and how you react more with your head. That could be positive if you're stuck in fight or flight mode etc.
However I don't see it curing parkinsons or essential tremor. CBD and THC can help with that.

I was diagnosed with functional movement disorder but I did the BEST therapy and I am 100% better from that however my jaw/ teeth shatter 24/7 is that a Parkinsonism? 2nd when I do this exercise should I be hearing cracking sounds and or like sand rubbing sounds? Will do this every day for a week to see if can improve my jaw tremors. I also find it helpful to keep a pleasant half smile with my lips closed as this works and tenses the face muscles.

Hi Nathan! My Mom has Parkinson’s Disease and she watches your vids everyday because it it helping her to cope up with her condition. Lately, she experiences tremors around her mouth and chin and that makes it difficult for her to eat. Do you have any exercises that she can do to stop / manage it? She is also having difficulties talking because of it. Again, thanks for all your effort in putting videos like this.

Try checking my exercises for vertigo. Do that and ome or two of the exercises for the head. You can also do this sitting down or laying down

Oh no. Whta if I only feel my head shaking when im about to sleep. In short when im at rest coz im trying to sleep. The shaking i feel in my head also my chin shaking as if im cold. Like shivering type of shaking. I was just thinking im tired.
Try using a mouth guard and see if that help reduce the shaking when you go to bed.

try to do 3 quick inhalations and one long exhalation and quick shaking of your hand before talking to your teacher. i thing you are just excited when you need to talk slow down your speech too

I'm not sure if my head is or what it is. When I walk my neck feels loose or weak and I can't hold my head steady, so as I step it keeps leaning forward and back, as if I'm nodding to a stranger, sort of head bobbing like a horse or chicken does as he walks. What is this? It's miserable. I've had PD dx 6 years, now 62.

there is medication. but you have to get it from your doctor. these exercises are to control tremors and improve movement

My doc gave me some anxiety tablets for head tremor which is causing side-effects like dizziness and vomiting tendencies .....I hope ur exercises will help me and it ll reduce tremors🙏
People control or reduce the tremors. Talk to your doctor about Adjusting your medication‘s.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

It helped my neck tremors, only problem l had, l exercise to much my neck.
Maybe cut it down a little bit. The rest days is when your muscle heals and get stronger

Doc thanks for sharing this. Pano po kaya pag may slight head movement (up and down) but doctors (done with neurologist, cardiologist and endoc) po ruled out PD, is this considered pong head tremors? My mom is 77. We noticed it po after nya magka covid nung 2021. Hoping you could advice. Thanks in advance!
