Thanks for watching!💜💖💜 Please share and subscribe!! Yes, I've had a biopsy sent to a laboratory. There's no infection of any sort. No allergic reaction 🤞thankfully Feel free to share your story here!! I'd love to hear them!💜💖💜
Hi, I too had this problem with my ring finger right hand, it was actually painful and went from the top to within 3-4 mm of my cuticle, I had medication prescribed by my doctor for 12 weeks, it took about 4 months to completely grow out, it started again on my pointer finger left hand, but I filed it down before it got any worse, they’re both fine now, I hope this helps everyone.
I have this problem now im so disappointed 😞 it all started when I got gel nails 💅, now I've them all cut down thanks so much for the info its really helped xx
You're very welcome!💜💖💜 Many people have left comments about their condition too. If you get extensions again, ask about care for them or get shorter 1st time or two. Best wishes 💜💖💜
Thanks for watching 💜💖💜 Yeah mine had me give my effected ones a break so we could watch for anything developing. Not good to get stuff stuck between nails and nail bed. Mine are doing good now. I hope yours get better soon too!!💜💖💜
You need to be VERY careful and clean the nails before applying gel. Just like any nail enhancement. Should actually do it regular polish too. It just typically doesn't stay in long enough to allow stuff to grow in between. Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
😳 They arch naturally?? I'm trying to understand this. Before this happened I had my nails longer than I usually do. Probably why I bent them so bad when I fell. But I had such STRONG C curves on a few... was already thinking to try to get those flatter as they pressed into my skin a tad. My thumb was sooo curved side to side.
My toe nail has been detached from the nail bed like 2 years ago. I kept it trimmed short and clean but it just won't re-attach to my skin. What should I do? I'm really getting worried now.
Oh yikes! I'd go see a physician to check for other health problems. Heck from what I've read could even be poor fitting shoes pressing on them. Best wishes abd I hope they find a fix!! Thanks for watching 💜💖💜 Note: they don't reattach to the nail bed...just grow out from "cuticle " area. I read toenails, as they are slow growers could take 2 years...but the new growth should be attached.
There’s yeast growing under the air pocket that’s why it won’t ever reattach until u cut away ALL the free edge and then it gets cleansed, oxygen, and dried properly. Rub teatree oil with coconut oil mix onto it every day. And voila! It will start growing back attached. Be patient as the first new layer may be dented, thin or deformed but eventually it will be fine. Do not be tempted to use polish or any other chemicals on it while healing, ❤ love Zen
@@zennrising thanks for your reply. I'll try it. And yeah, I don't know what it is but there's something white powder type something inside the detached nail. When I trim my nail and clean it after some time it comes back. I thought it was something that is trying to reattach my nail to the skin but it ain't working.
You definitely need to get that stuff tested. Are you using your nails to scratch your skin/ head? Could be those cells. Difficult, to tell without a lab tech looking through a microscope. If you have dry patches of skin in.other places your physician will check for things like psoriasis. There are so many things it could be. Yeast, from my experience, would smell, but then I know I've not been around each type. Only a physician can determine. Try a dermatologist they are the nail experts! 😊hair, skin, and nails are their specialty after all. Come back and lmk what you find out. I'm curious!! If it were simply a yeast or bacteria, the alcohol rinse would help. But if your skin is actually dry (like in psoriasis), it would get worse. Please don't cut all the free edge without a physician's order. Nails do protect your fingertips. Keep them short as possible while keeping something over your skin. Plus, your physician will want to take a sample of them too. If you cut back to where, they are attached, they won't be able to get a sample. NOI💜💖💜
Nails never re attach. Simple body mechanics. 😉 They grow from under the skin near the "cuticle area," that's where they will be attached at first. Then, they ' slide out' as they grow. Tea tree oil is nice for starter/ beginnings of infections or to prevent them. I put it in my DIY cuticle oil. Why I left a link to my mix video 😊 Thanks for watching and commenting NOI 💜💖💜
This is most likely a bacterial infection from our beloved acrylics. Happens to me regularly when I've used a lot of products and air pockets get in with water. Soak in apple cider vinegar for 30 mins a day for a week or two, and let them grow out. Always works for me. Good luck!
Thanks for watching 💜💖💜 In my case it definitely is not. I don't use acrylics and my physician did a biopsy. The lab said everything was perfect. No infections no fungal infections nothing. Thankfully. They were fine by Christmas. 😊
Agreed that having lifting or "pocket lifts" as you described, can tra0 moisture that is a breeding ground for bacteria. It's what we call greenies (pseudomonas). See some info on that here: www.loanails.com/blogs/news/my-nails-are-green-from-fake-nails Hope it helps💜💖💜
Oh no, I feel for you love. I can’t do mine at the moment as I’ve got bad dermatitis. They’re thickened underneath and I am worried I will be losing a couple. I’m so gutted. Hope it grows out quickly and you stay well love. 🙂
Oh my!! I'm sorry you're having troubles too! Theu should grow soon 🤞Mine are nice now. I've gotta get back to filming. Thanks for watching and commenting 💜💖💜
My nails are very thin, split and flake, acrylics pop off....I'm on oral chemo and was told that's the reason. The problem started when my dose increased. I have to keep nails and toenails protected. So thin they hurt. So to me it's worth putting gel on and just do manicures more often to avoid pain. Not thick....just a protective layer....and I wear gloves for everything. I'm glad you are doing well...hang in there.
@@Priscilla8385. Thank you. I have a rare blood disorder called essential thrombocythemia which means I make way too many platelets so to keep my platelets in check I have to take oral chemo everyday for life so that way my platelets don't get so thick that I have a stroke which has happened twice. Thanks to the chemo...I have a good quality of life...but my fingernails stuff the side effects. I don't give up, so it will get better and maybe in my lifetime...a cure can be found. Prayer is always appreciated. Thank you.
Yes, I think they will find a cure soon!! I hope so! They ate already working on several cancer vaccines! So it's very possible!! Or at least a much better treatment without side effects!! I hope that you do get well soon! Have you tried gel polish on your nails? I did that while still rather thin. My sides of two are very flexible still gel stays about 2 weeks gel polish was longer. I'm trying several flexible gels to see. Anyway I do hope you're cured soon!! Take care I'll be thinking of you.💜💖💜
This has happened to me when I have gel or dip manicures. Whenever I remove them, I have at least some lifting which is why I am no longer going to do them. Now I am focusing on growing healthy natural nails, using lots of oils on them and taking nail supplements.
Oh my! The actual fingernail come off your skin?!!?? I've not heard of that much of a repeat!! At least you know what happened. Usually people will mention a fungal infection or greenies. Thise are easy to develop if your not careful with cleansing. Heck I spray my hands n nails with alcohol before I ever touch my nail equipment I'm scared of those! Thankfully you don't have an underlying medical condition causing that!! Psoriasis is a huge one. Too many have mention that. 😕 So it never happens with polish? Or do you keep them bare now? I'm very curious as no ones said this one.. Take care and thanks for watching 💜💖💜
@@nailsofinterest My fingernail did not come all the way off, but some of it separated from the nail bed after removing gel polish. This has happened a few times after having a gel manicure, so I blame that. I have no fungal infections, and no psoriasis that I am aware of. I found another UA-cam influencer that you may want to follow for this problem. Her channel name is "The Salon Life". She knows a LOT about fingernails and how to heal them. I hope it is OK that I mentioned her here, but I wanted to refer you to her because she has helped so many people, and I believe she can help you too.
Thanks I already am subbed to her, I've seen lots of her videos t However, my problem was ok by Christmas 2022. 😊just needed to grow out. I just followed the things I mentioned in video. Thanks for the reply. I'm still so curious about what caused yours exactly. I'm a curious person, I lole to learn. Have you asked her? I'm curious her thoughts about a type of nail product causing it. Perhaps, like many, HEMA allergy? It's an ingredient in loads of monomers and gels. A good friend of mine (a nail tech) had that and didn't realize it. Now just uses HEMA free products. Heck I'm no physician lol The Nail Hub, here on UA-cam, has awesome videos that truly teach. I showed her the video collaboration with light elegance and she realized that was her issue. Though that's most always a rash. But everyone is different too.🤷🏻♀️ As I say at the end of each video : You be you.. I'll be me. I just hate to hear someone having to give anything up. 😕 Thanks for the suggestion regardless! 💜💖💜
I am so glad I found your video. This is exactly what I have on several of my nails. They look terrible, but I’ve done everything so far except for putting the alcohol underneath which I will do right now, so thank you for posting this.

I Got an Injury in Feet Toe Before a Year My Injury Well Complete Healthy .My Nail of the Toe Leaves the Half Nail .How can to Recover Full Nail with Nail Bed?
Bless your heart. I feel ya', we do love our nails and doing manis to share on YT. I found your video very informative. I have a couple of nails that different issues and they are something I have to keep an eye on. Hope your nails recover quick. Take care.
Hi there... sorry to see you're dealing with this. Hoping to ask you some questions as I'm dealing with the same for 6 months but more severe. It began like this though. I have done my own gel manicure for some time and always had my natural nails long and done... always. When the separation began I thought maybe I'd just damaged my nails from too frequent manicures. Then more nails began separating. I'd advise, if you haven't by now to trim ALL of the separated nail off. As ugly as it is and as sensitive as the skin underneath can be at first, leaving the nail intact led to infection of the skin in 2 of my nails and in one it became a blood infection. Using oils will increases the chances as it keeps it moist. I trim them down then use products to help keep the skin soft and infection-free. My toenails also began separation about 2 months after my fingernails. Now, all of my fingernails are affected and about 6 of my toenails. I've been tested for fungal and skin infections and those have ruled out. Like you, the nails themselves look quite healthy, they're simple detaching from the nail beds. I've gone through every product, every environmental item in my home, my yard, my car, my everything. I've looked into my medications as well and with no recent changes, unlikely. At the same time my nails began detaching I also started getting what appeared to be skin rashes that appears and red welts in patches, that lasted for 1-3 weeks on my face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms and occasionally elsewhere. I ever sometimes get a painful sunburn like patch of skin in my mouth, on my face or near my hairline. It doesn't respond well to treatment. Only time seems to help. Psoriasis and eczema have been deemed unlikely due to the appearance. My GP is concerned and I'll be off to the dermatologist next week. I do have an autoimmune disorder but, it isn't one that comes with skin symptoms. It does come with a higher level of histamine. I've been getting injections in a shoulder injury every 4-6 weeks for approximately 6 months that contain ropivacaine, saline and corn based dextrose. Dextrose in high doses in rare cases can cause a histamine reaction which COULD lead to full system reaction like what I'm having, including nail bed separation and skin rash. Ropivacaine allergy can also possibly cause nail bed and skin rash OR very rarely it can cause someone to become allergic to cold Temps and have skin irritation and even nail problems when exposed to cold. These are all in the unlikely category but possible so I've stopped treatment, which unfortunately was helping my shoulder after surgery hadn't done enough. I've also been reading about nail bed separation with Lupus and some other conditions. Already having one autoimmune makes me having a higher probability of having another. I was wondering if you'd share with me your medical condition you spoke of so I could add it to the list of questions for the doctors. This issue went from being embarrassed about not being able to manicure one or two fingers to no manicures and nearly no fingernails left 6 months later... and now my toenails headed that direction. The skin reactions have been bad enough on a couple occasions to leave a couple scars. I'm almost 38, had VERY healthy nails, skin and hair to my waist (SO FAR my hair is ok!). I've never had skin problems, so this is challenging! Anything you've learned would be helpful. Thank you and I'm sorry you're dealing with health issues!
Oh my goodness!! That's a lot to deal with!! Thanks for sharing your story so others might read and discover something!!💜💖💜 Mine are nothing compared to that. Well basically, besides falling often (due to a nerve injury from a back injury long ago) my hormones were wonky and I had a period for about 3 months long. I also fell n bent the 3 effected ones plus my nutrition levels were low. Ie low blood counts etc. Just eating bad plus the added stuff. By Christmas, if you see my opening gifts video, only 1 nail wouldn't keep hard gel. All had a loose free edge that I trimmed a few times again. (Still keeping that hands nails a bit shorter in case of falling on them again) It kept gel polish on ok. Takes a year to replace an entire fingernail. (Toes can be 2 years ) My My worst was my thumb and it was only detached part way. All ok now. I was determined to keep them dry (I wore gloves like crazy, even when showering) and used alcohol like crazy in between to keep it sanitary. Plus kept them super short. Lost my hyponychium too OMG that hurt!! 😳 as it grew quite a bit from keeping them long and never shortening or removing length so it would help them be long too.. That's basically what keeps them sealed at free edge, n germ free undneath. Kinda extra flesh attaching to them. Helps to make a list if everything going on and give to you physician too. Did they biopsy it yet?? I wouldn't leave without one I was scared! That would show abnormal growths, fungus etc. Then keep track of which nails. Fingers only ? Toes? One or more? Same hand or both? My physician was amazed I had so much information ready lol🤣 But as my hands are always on film or photos it's understandable!! Allergies can cause this too. I was so worried about that too. I hope everything goes well!!! 🤞Lmk!!!💜💖💜 My physician said if almost all were effected more likely a whole body issue. Like psoriasis etc. Sounds likely since you also said toes. By my non medical self... glad to hear your seeing a physician! My dermatologist was awesome too!!
@@nailsofinterest Thank you for the reply! Doctor said it isn't presenting like psoriasis and fungal was ruled out. I haven't yet done testing for things like thyroid, liver function or autoimmune factors. Not in the past year anyway. I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago (kept ovaries) and while I still technically have periods I have no way to reliably track them without obvious symptoms. Hormones have always been an issue but have never caused problems with my nails or skin. I'm a bit terrified this will eventually effect my hair. It is healthy and to my waist. Definitely don't want loss. It's hard enough going from being the manicure queen to horrible half-gone nails. Fingers crossed it was the shoulder injections and some allergy or reaction to those but having an allergy to basic numbing meds or dextrose wouldn't exactly be good. The dermatologist assistant said they'd likely take a tissue and nail sample to do testing and may also refer me to an allergist but I know from experience they are usual booked at least 6 months. I had extensive allergy testing about 2 years ago for something unrelated (no allergies found) and it took 6 months to get in. Like you, interestingly, my thumbs were seem to have the worst of it. I wonder why??
Oh my! Yeah a few said their thumbs were worst too. No idea?? Perhaps even though we avoid it, perhaps somehow they still get used more?? It was.also my dominant hand too. Hormones can mess up.a lot of things. Heck being pregnant can cause lifting of nail products. Several have Been told to check from their techs. This lady has a series about people sending in their nail pictures and getting nail advice. She wouldn't be able to diagnose medical problems but maybe if it were nail related or something that can be helped at least partly?? Idk can't hurt to send a few pics in. ua-cam.com/video/GvbTUaEZYSs/v-deo.html that's one in her series. I do hope you get ot figured out as then it has to grow out still 😕 Yeah I'd assume hair will be effected soon too. But maybe not 🤞I hope not!! Mine stayed ok. But mine wasn't as severe either. 💜💖💜
@@nailsofinterest My non dominant hand is actually worse... but I've got a lot going on that could effect it. I had surgery on my right shoulder (right handed) a year and a half ago. Had nerve impingement, among other things. It wasn't horribly sereve, just bad enough to have me off work. Being injured so long made me rely a lot on my left hand. Just 6 month after that surgery I herniated a cervical disc, crushing and permanently damaging nerves to my LEFT arm and hand and had to have emergency ACDF surgery on my neck. That was a year ago this month. I still have some issue with my left tricep and a couple finger, my thumb not being one of them... so who heck knows!! The skin rashes seeming to go along with the nail separation is what set this apart as NOT being related to the manicures. I stopped all manicures about 3 months ago when it was too bad to continue and I trimmed all the nails away. I did my own gels, no filing/sanding, no tips, no acetone... ever. Sure it was hard on my nails. I peeled them off too soon and they never had a chance to breathe but I sterilized my tools and I was the only one who used them... and stopping the manicures hasn't stopped the skin reactions or new nail separation. The toes didn't even start separation until after I'd stopped with the gels. It's all a bit of a mess. My kids are teens and above so I can't blame childbirth lol. Hormones maybe! Edit: my doctor did a metal tox screen and I bought a new home in the fall that came with radon cert and mitigation. Both fine. I'm now on city water that we also filter so its not that. The house has no mold and is fairly new with no toxins or sketchy building materials. Fewer pets, same meds, ruled out all cosmetics, toiletries, soaps, perfumes, etc. And like I'd mentioned, my nails actually look lrerty healthy now that I've taken a long break from the manicures... but they're still continuing to seperate from the nail beds.
Yikes!! Definitely doesn't sound product related. Something systematic to your body. Yikes!! Oh I understand disk problems, mine are just a lot lower. Low back n sciatica like crazy!!! Plus numbness all that stuff...😕 no fun at all. Bern decades now Please update as you discover something/ anything that is a cause or ruled out. I'm totally intrigued !! Plus I do care!! I like to gather information/ peopled experiences and add to any relevant video too. Or mention in another while doing art. I think we all can benefit from this type of thing. I've been racking my brain and thinking of yiu when I read more about nail health or anything similar hoping I'll see something you can ask your physician about. Our bodies are amazing and finicky too. So complex it's insane at times!! I'm very interested in how it all works! Thanks again for sharing!! 💜💖💜
What I stated in the video worked for me. It's mostly a waiting until they grow out game. While trying to keep them from getting infected while they are this way. Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
I have this Super bad on one nail and I'm really scared!! My nails mean so much to me and I always have them done but I'll never clear with a sharp object ever again! I just hope I don't lose the nail permanently,it's white like halfway down and I'm crying
Oh I understand I was scared too! Why I also saw a dermatologist!! As you see, my nails are on screen!! They r what I do! As long as no damage in the matrix, ( behind whats commonly called : "cuticle area") it should not be permanent! (Such things as chemotherapy, and meds that change our immune system could possibly injure.) Otherwise if you're healthy they will grow back!! Takes time loads of time depending upon how yiur nails grow. I took extra vitamins per my Dr's advanced I had free edges by Christmas... however, that was incredibly fast! Toes can take a year or two 😱. Fingers up to a year! Depending upon person. Best advice I can give: keep them short so they don't rip (or detach further), keep clean and dry to prevent "greenies" (or other yucky things), and eat healthy as possible. I hope it clears up soon!! Best wishes. 💜💖💜 I hope you'll subscribe too.
Oh my! Do you know what happened to cause yours?? Yeah you don't have to use any nail products to get this symptom. I put a few medical links of causes in description area too. Hormones, medicines, injury, and health problems are just a few causes. Mine was definitely an injury plus lack of nutrition, perhaps along with some hormone issues. The injury I hit the end HARD when I fell. Hurt so bad it felt like I lifted the light layer of clear gel I had over my real nails. Nope I helped pull one nail off the bed. 😳. I just had them longer than I ever do, that is kinda like a lever making injury easier. The gel definitely didn't cause it. It's a pro brand hypoallergenic and I've used for years. Plus hadn't used any product much in weeks prior. I've had one more case of this since it healed up.. had 0 product on for over a month. I had injured again, plus under extreme stress. Stress can cause health problems in itself, I'm thinking it was a factor in event #1 too. They did heal right away doing what I said. As they grew they were fine. I hope yours are fine soon!! Thanks for watching and commenting 💜💖💜
Hi, i am having this condition affected my all the finger nails and toe nails and it came with consumption of liquor. Next day all the nails become tender and swollen finger tips. Anyone had the similar experience?😢
This is an allergic reaction to the gel. The worst part of this is once you get it, it will always appear when you put gel on. When your nails will grow back everything will be ok, as long as you don't use gel.
Actually it's not. Gels themselves rarely cause an allergy. It's a symptom of other things. I was fine went back to gel no problem. Was wearing by Christmas 😊luckily. HEMA, in some gels and monomers, is a huge allergen to many. It can be avoided. There are loads of HEMA free products now. Oh my!!! 😳I'd try to remove the acrylic ASAP. However, if the acetone gets into the cut area OUCH!! it will burn! Have to flush that out with water. (Remember, I'm not a physician 😉) Do you have an electronic nail file?? A very thin bit with a point can remove a lot under the nail. Otherwise I only know that 100% acetone dissolves acrylic. This same thing happened to my middle toenail. I ran over it with a cart at work. It hurts! I didn't notice how bad it was, because my nails were painted. I just pay special attention to keep it clean, and trim jagged edges that could get caught on my socks. Good tip with the alcohol to keep away infections. Some extra calcium and protein in the diet help also with the vitamins.
Oh yikes! I can practically feel that!!😳 As a child, I caught my middle finger in a metal door...after a few months of the nail being bruised (so dark), it turned white and I lost the nail! Thanks for watching and commenting!!💜💖💜 I would have replied earlier somehow UA-cam didn't tell me anyone left a comment ugh!! 😕
Nope. It was determined this was the result of my fall. So an injury. I had bent a few back HARD so painful.😳🤕 No new medical condition. Already on meds for my condition. Falls are a result of a very old injury. They had free edges by that Christmas. (Very small ones) you can see on a video where I open my presents from other "channels" Thanks for watching and commenting💜💖💜
I just followed what I said in this video. I posted a video today, and you can see they are all perfectly fine! Yours will be too! Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
Oh my!!! Well, by that Christmas, I had free edges...though they were a tad thin/ frail near edges. You can see them in my Christmas present video from that year. 100% better in a few months after. I hope your journey is fast and easy!! Tfw💜💖💜
I have anxiety and I subconsciously pick under my nails until they look like this I've been struggling with this for as long as I can remember and I know it looks bad but I can't help but to do it.
Oh my! Yeah anxiety can be rough to deal with. Hopefully you're able to get relief another way. Take care and thanks for watching and sharing your story too! 💜💖💜
i's caused by the acrillates in the semis, gels and other uv products, it's for life and it's possible you won't be able to have dental work or prothesis done, I had this checked with my doctor, dont use gels, semis or anything UV from now on
Nope, not in tgis case. That would be an allergic reaction. Typically, to HEMA. Mine was not that at all. Thanks for watching 💜💖💜 Injury set this event off. But poor nutrition and another health issue I have were the main causes. They didn't hurt, itch, or anything else.
Hi, I did bang my hand & my little finger naik has come off not completely but its bottom & sides are attached to the skin. Should i get it removed completely from the doctor? Or should I wait for it to fall off naturally? How many days it will take to fall off naturally?
Oh my ouch!!!😳 I'm not a physician, so I can't really advise. I can tell you when I was young, I slammed a door on my finger. The nail was hurt bad. But not hanging off. Started turning lighter. I thought it was getting better , well it was, but I ended up snagging it on something and ripping it all off at once. But everything healed up well. Growth is entirely individual. If your nails grow fast, it will be faster. If slow, slower. It will take a few months. Personally, I'd keep it cut very, very short so as not to snag it. I know that pain already. You must keep it very clean and dry. Even if you remove it, all, by a physician or DIY, still keep the nail bed protected from further injury. Most physicians probably could handle it, just remember a dermatologist is a specialist in skin, hair, and nails. I hope it heals up well and fast!! Best wishes, NOI💜💖💜
Sides are attached?? I just saw that. My physician said they wouldn't remove it when it's holding on like mine were. Warning, it would hurt like crazy!😵 It grows out from "cuticle area" but definitely is attached to the sides, too. Plus attached to nail bed.
I have this problem for years I think its because of trauma because I had only on my right thumb, other finger nails are ok.. I tried everything, putting nail gel, vicks, herb gels it does not works😢 I am also taking B vitamins, no result
I have same problem on my both thumb. I don't know what is the reason. I remember there's no trauma injury on my nail. I tried so many nail oil fungus to treat it but no change conditions. I still have it after 3 years 😢
@@acerazak4087pls show a dermatologist as it can be a fungal infection n it takes around 3-6 mths to heal ..natural remedy is to crush few camphor tablets in coconut oil n to apply this mix to the infected nails at least 3-4 times in a day .hope that helps

Oh no , I’m sorry to hear about this and your health . I had this not too long ago on my ring finger because I bumped it or I caught it in the cupboard and injured it . I used tea tree oil . You are right , there’s several things that cause this . I don’t like it when people say it’s fungus , because it is not fungus related . I have not been too active either this year . We been working on our cabin we bought . Now it’s done and I’m trying to get back into it . I really hope you get to feeling better soon .
Thank you so much!! 💜💖💜Yes, definitely not fungal. Yeah you've not heard from me in awhile. Life has been crazy. Ooh a cabin!! I hope it turns out awesome!!!💜💖💜

Oh my!! I feel for you!!! What changed colors? The bit remaining? The nail bed? (Tissue under the nail). Yeah I'm a curious gal lol😆 I lost one entire nail, when I was a child. Slammed into a door. Took over a month before it fell off. If whatever caused it us cleared up then you're only waiting n regrowth. Takes a lot of time. Best wishes 💜💖💜

I started using biab 2 months ago and everything was going great until i noticed when I took it off, my nails are dark brown / detached from nail bed.. i’m so scared to lose my nails, the one on my ring finger is literally almost all off. I haven’t seen anyone yet as i’m in denial and want to believe i can grow this out without having to trim all the way down to where it’s detached. I’d love if you could give me your take on what i should do in this case.. is it possible to keep trimming your nails without having to cut to where the nails are detached and not have it detach any further? Any help will be appreciated!
Oh my!! Well for what I had I never trimmed to the detached part. My physician even said not to. Just as much as I could to the tip. It's to stop them from snagging on something and ripping it off! 😳😢That could injure the matrix (growth part). You can easily Google nail problems or nail ailments to see images. The detachment sounds like what I had, the brown not so much here is what pops up for detached nails that are brown: my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/21712-mycotic-nails#:~:text=If%20your%20toenail%20or%20fingernail,diabetes%2C%20psoriasis%20or%20athlete's%20foot. If you can get to or until you can see a physician I'd try soaking a few minutes in very very diluted bleach or vinegar solution. Followed by tea tree oil. NOTE: *I'm Not a physician* just trying to help. If new growth isn't your normal please see a physician! Here are some common nail ailments: www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/nail-diseases-chart
I'm suffering from onycholysis due to a damaged nail in 2020! I didn't go to the doctor for a while hoping it would grow back, but it didn't and I finally went to the "doctor" (I see a NP). After rounds of Lamasil, no change...and she's not really doing anything about. The dermatologist office that I go to specializes in cosmetic dermatology, so I don't even know if this NP is experienced enough to deal with a damaged nail. I mean, I had to learn on the internet (after being frustrated with her) that my nail should be filed thin (b/c it had fungus). Since I've been treating my nail myself just by keeping it filed thin and some OTC nail fungus meds, I feel like it's doing better than it ever was under her care. I think I'm going to find a different dermatologist because I feel that I need to be under the care of a doctor since it's been this long...but this is sooooo irritating especially since I like to wear my nails long.
Oh my!😳 My family physician would have prescribed an oral antifungal if she thought that way the cause. She had previously for a yeast infection. Did they biopsy it? Cut a piece off and send to a lab? I requested my dermatologist to do it just in case. Mine are all better and just grown out. Make certain any and ALL tools are disinfected with an antifungal system between each use or you'll just reintroduce it again. I like Barbacide. There's one that lists fungus right on it. After it's cured be sure to always spray a high % alcohol on your hands and under nails before even touching your tools or products. I'm always telling people to do that as a preventative measure. The medical assistant actually did this for me at dermatologists. NP'S should also have enough knowledge too. But if clinic centered around non medical might be an issue. They might not see enough cases. My place does both luckily. I wonder if an online physician, especially (if you provide test results of fungal infection) could prescribe the proper meds? Tropicals wouldn't get through the nail plate. I know when I had oral meds for a vag. Yeast infection years ago it cleared up fast! I hope yours clears up soon! 🤞 thanks for watching and commenting 💜💖💜 stop by when you can!
@@nailsofinterest well, what originally happened was that I bumped my nail on the steering wheel when I had my long acrylics. A couple days later it was still sore, so I took the polish off and noticed that about 2/3 of the nail had separated from the nail bed. Over the next couple months I tried to put a false nail over it using different methods (that I seen on YT) and it would always get sore. So I decided to leave it alone, but the very top layer of nail kept growing out over the bottom layers. Moisture would get trapped, my nail bed would get sore and the greenies would come and go. After months of that I decided to go to a dermatologist. She gave me an oral medication (Lamisil) used to treat fungal infections. I have to get blood work every six weeks. After doing a few rounds, I wasn’t seeing the results I thought I should be seeing so I got back on YT. One thing she never did was deal with the actual nail. The doctors on YT said to throw everything at it…even topical OTC meds…but the nail would need to be filed thin so that the medication would reach. So, I’ve been keeping the nail as thin as possible and applying a topical OTC treatment. I’ve see the most improvement since that. I got the greenies the day before yesterday and it was gone within 24 hrs (I had slacked on the topical). I’m going to go to a different dermatologist though…because I want to be under a doctors care. No, no biopsy. I didn’t even know that was a thing…and obviously my NP didn’t know either. But you’re probably right…they probably haven’t seen enough of these cases. I don’t need a cosmetic dermatologist office…I need the other kind 😂
Yeah you definitely need the real doctors who practice around medicine! Plus try the vitamins I've mentioned (if you think you need them) don't over do it as too much is bad. Or eat really healthy. Took months to grow out this much 😕 Could be a year for a full nail. I also took Iron I forgot (I think) to mention. You'll definitely want to keep nails products off while healing up. Greenies are from moisture and lack of oxygen. Keep that in mind too. I'd suggest using the alcohol like my physician recommended. Some say vinegar..which is acid (and unfortunately salt). Acetone mixed with alcohol will act as a dehydrator ...hmmm perhaps dry them out with that (on top) before you apply the creams. There are several varieties f anti fungal creams OTC some say jock itch🤣 some say others... look at ingredients to see if different some are exactly the same lol Lamisil/ lotriimin are two brand names I hope this gets cleared up for you! Please let me know!💜💖💜
Thanks for watching 💜💖💜 Just keep very short. Mine were still attached at sides. Even if not my physician said to keep the nail to protect the nail bed.
Oh, I understand!! I was scared as well as upset. Mine detached halfway down on the thumb. If you see my Christmas gift video that's them grown out. After I filed down a few times. Sometimes still has a bit of softness at edges but gel polish stays as it's flexible enough. I hope yours recovers soon!! NOI💜💖💜
Depending upon you If your nails grow fast... Or slow. Then if affected all the way down to growth area, or partway. To fully grow out up to a year 😕 My thumb was halfway. Had a free edge by December 24th.
@@nailsofinterest The thing is that I have the same problem and my nails are short short I use gloves And I use Almond Oil with tea tree oil together and it's not working plus I had long nails.
Did you show a physician? I made mine take a sample to biopsy for infection/ fungus etc too. Some hormones and other health problems can also cause this... why it's rather important to get at least a medical opinion. I put 4 good links in description area about causes. Oh my they scared me 😱. Then they have me taking a hair nail and skin vitamin with Biotin, plus Iron. Plus the Rejivicote .. Plus told me to drink lots of milk. So far thumb nail only left!!! Yay!!!🎉🎉🎉 that's the one they took a sample of too. They only cut a portion that's discolored. No pain.😉 ( I'm not very good at eating healthy.) My primary physician actually did her part by my photos. Swore it was just my injury + my poor eating. But with my hand always on film I just couldn't risk it. So she told me to go to a Dermatologist. Dermatologist I saw in person. I hope something helps you too!!!💜💖💜
@@nailsofinterest Yes she did a dermatologist and she said that it wasn't fungus thank God. But she told me to do what I'm doing now no and it goes away but then it comes back I don't understand it.
Oh my! What was your cause? Injury? Allergy? Or other health problem?? Your not using nail products?? If so, stop and try to add 1 at a time to see of allergic. That can do it too. Takes awhile to grow out too. I'm I my 2nd month of regrowth. 1 month after dermatologist.y thumb still looks ugly. 😕 I can see progress though. Do you see anything getting better?? All fingers or only a couple? If it was, All, my physician was going to send me for more tests. As other health issues can cause this too.
I see this a lot as a manicurist. People come to me after they think a manicurist has damaged their nails. The main cause I have seen is trauma, consistent trauma. Why do some people get it and others don’t. Our bodies are all different and some of us are more sensitive or immune compromised systems. Also, our medical health conditions can make us more susceptible to injury and damage. I always advise clients if they are prone to this, to stop all together and stick to simple nail care. The body needs lots of time to heal. ❤ I hope things have not reoccurred for you and they have recovered.
I have an underactive thyroid so prob not helping ,but I'll def uptake my iron amd various of vitamins and jeep dry ,can I ask what did you use to moisturise your fingers or is it better to leave them be x
Oh yes! Probably need the vitamins then. Hormones can definitely be an issue. Heck pregnancy can effect how well product stays on! I used my own cuticle oil mix on top. Like in this video plus added tea tree oil it's supposed to have antimicrobial properties (per my physician). I'll get link on DIY cuticle oil: ua-cam.com/video/cDBkk_HQlS4/v-deo.html Hope I helps!!! I have same problem oncholysis on my thumbnail my half nail seprate from nailbed im using fluconazole tablet as recommend by dr from 1month but my problem not gone what should i do to cure my ocholysis😢😢😭
Thanks for watching 💜💖💜 Your nails have to grow out the damage. They can't reattach. Could take several months to a year depending upon how fast yours grow. My physician recommended a hair skin and nail vitamin( since I don't eat very well) to help. I've had this twice both grew out eventually. Since you had to take that medication, you also had a fungal infection. (It's an antifungal) Did you follow up to make sure that was cleared up? If the source stays, the problem stays. 😕 I hope things get better soon! (I'm not a physician)
What really helped 'mine' was cutting off the nail to the end of where it stopped lifting. I did that, and the nail grew out normal. This has been soo frustrating!
@avernellwilliams1137 Yeah, my physicians said it helps some people, especially those who use their hands in wet places a lot or can't keep up with the alcohol use/ keeping dry methods. However, at first, one of mine was attached near the end. Rather like a bubble under the nail. Would have hurt like crazy! 😳It was bad enough when I landed on them (a fall) in the 1st place as I had nice hyponychiums. (the skin under the nail past free edge). Thanks for watching and commenting 💜💖💜
You must’ve hit it pretty good exactly in the right angle and spot to where it tore the skin underneath those can be quite uncomfortable 😣 but it will get better so sorry you had to go through that! I have a rare diseases so I understand where you come from💕
Actually I hit the edges. I tend to fall and did a bad one.. it hurt at first bit then nothing... just saw white spaces that I thought was lifting...nope, well it was, but it was actual nails😳 scared me so much! I was going through another health issue and my physician thought besides the trauma my vitamin levels were extra low. I also don't eat very healthy 😕 They are doing good now. This was filmed in August. A couple of weeks after it started. Just a few weeks of any free edges. I had put on gel to lengthen but the part that didn't separate was also very thin n weak. Gel doesn't stick well right now. Gel polish does. What I'm wearing on Christmas is the 1st color I'm wearing since it started. Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
🫶🏾👊🏾💕🎨💅🏽 I Recently Added put nails on her throughout the refill them in don’t recommend doing, but that’s what I did because I had to grow out to dinner because I couldn’t do anything major with them until they completely grew out of them🫶🏾 this happens a lot to menu but also you can prevent these things from happening to by not wearing as long nails are you are gonna wear long nails they’re super long you got to be very careful not to injure a bang them really hard or stuff like that but you can’t achieve wearing long nails without having any damage happened cause I have her like decades this was the first damage I ever had happen and it was due to my sister grabbing a cup out of my hand. She was visiting and I happen to give her a cup exactly like the one I re-bought for myself because the other one was getting old is still work, but it was getting too much wear and tear so she I mistakenly picked up hers thinking it was the new one, and she took it a little too far by grabbing violently the cup out of my hand, which caused damage to both Nails, and both damage was different the pink it was more severe. It had layers of actual dick, nail, and Athena Nikki, and Park got damaged to an towards the fridge in the middle part but surprisingly when I took my nails done more than once, cut it back and trimmed it and filed it back with some of the damage group forward. It kind of went pretty quickly maybe because my nail grows faster I’m not sure in the same thing with the thumb the sun was damaged as in that low underneath to the south part but the nail itself did lift, and it lifted pretty good from the sidewall, free edge, and then all the way back almost to the cuticle to work grows out, but didn’t go back that far and it didn’t take that long to grow out either and they keep on doing reveals falling the nail all the way down to get rid of the dead nail and then redoing the nails all together, taking down product and then filing down the dead, removing and falling down the dead nail that was damaged and then I redid the nails again and they grew out pretty fast so I kept the bone in pretty good and it didn’t take but two months for them to actually less than that but it was almost the end of the month previous a month and only took about couple weeks for everything to grow out so I was good in that aspect🫶🏾 i’m glad all is well with your nails now you can continue doing some amazing tutorial videos and nails designs, etc.🫶🏾🎨💅🏽💕
Thanks for watching 💜💖💜 I mentioned it's definitely not anything "catchy" as I had a biopsy sent to a lab as I was certain it would be. Nope, my 2 physicians were correctl☺️ I always sanitize my equipment throughly. I'm certified for that myself. I understand about cross contamination, etc, from my previous training in the medical field. 😉. Definitely good points to being up. But Onycholysis can't actually be caught/ transfered/ transmitted, etc. It's a symptom of something else entirely. Sometimes stress from injury (main cause of mine), skin or immunity disorders, side effects of medication, etc. It's like a fever that's a symptom of something (like a cold or flu ), but not actually the illness. Again, thanks for watching! I hope you'll subscribe too. NOI💜💖💜
I really injured both of my big toe nails when I was moving an ex’s dresser out to the garage with a dolly. I went to set it down and it wheeled back and hit both toes. My nails were just beyond the tips of my toes. It lifted both right off the beds. Painful is not the word for that. Since then, they grow very evenly but they are permanently lifted in a portion. If I paint them you would never know. Even when I don’t most would never notice. I don’t squirt alcohol beneath. I find that gently cleaning under them helps them look better and feel better. Recently I’ve started using nail oil over the top and the appearance looks better. I think that’s because they aren’t dry looking. I’m going to make an oil blend with tea tree oil, even though I’ve never had fungus. I just do my best to keep them shaped and pampered. Sometimes it is what it is. I know mine is from injury.
Oh ouch!! I can feel your pain!! As a child, I slammed a finger in a metal door!!😢pain beyond words! Couldnt imagine more than one!!! I lost the nail, eventually. But grew back luckily!! Oh my! I'm sorry to hear that!! Mine were even uglier but I filmed this after a bit. I wanted to know 100% certain what was causing before I spoke. Did a doctor diagnosis it? There are lots of medical issues that cause this, as this is a symptom of other issues. I hope you get better soon! Thanks for watching and commenting!💜💖💜
Ma'am if you are looking for a sign, this is it. Stop putting acrylics/gel material on your nails if this is what your nails look like underneath the material. Please! Common sense, stop doing it.
Actually, my nails look perfect with or without product. 🤷🏻♀️ Always one to get compliments on them. This was a one-time medical experience due to health and injury, nothing to do with nail products. I'd never apply anything, not physician approved, on damaged nails. That's against any nail rule/ guide, etc, out there. Thanks for your concern, and for watching NOI💜💖💜
That's what happened to me and what this video is about. Several injuries or health problems cause this. All we can do is keep them short and clean (between nail plate and nail bed) while they grow out. Or further trouble could happen. They don't re-attach at all.😕 Mine are all ok now!! Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
If there is a health condition. You get that treated. For me, it was injury and vitamin issues. So I took vitamins with biotin per my physician's advice. Used the treatment listed in the description. Just to have something good covering the nails. I kept them super short and used alcohol with the syringe to clean and keep germs/ fungus from developing. I wore gloves when bathing. No standing water at all my physician said or it could easily develop a nail fungus. Then you need medication from a physician. Sometimes an allergy, nail fungal infection, injury, or other health problems/ treatments can all cause this... one lady commented her chemotherapy causes hers😳 This is a symptom, not a health problem. I hope this helps💜💖💜
Thanks for watching!💜💖💜

Except mine nails arch to the point of painful separation from regular nail polish 🙄
You need to be VERY careful and clean the nails before applying gel. Just like any nail enhancement. Should actually do it regular polish too. It just typically doesn't stay in long enough to allow stuff to grow in between. Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
😳
They arch naturally?? I'm trying to understand this.
Before this happened I had my nails longer than I usually do. Probably why I bent them so bad when I fell.
But I had such STRONG C curves on a few... was already thinking to try to get those flatter as they pressed into my skin a tad. My thumb was sooo curved side to side.
Good evening😊 Dear friend💗
I pray that you recover quickly💐🙏
Thank you so much 💜💖💜
My toe nail has been detached from the nail bed like 2 years ago.
Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
Note: they don't reattach to the nail bed...just grow out from "cuticle " area.
They grow from under the skin near the "cuticle area," that's where they will be attached at first. Then, they ' slide out' as they grow.
Tea tree oil is nice for starter/ beginnings of infections or to prevent them. I put it in my DIY cuticle oil. Why I left a link to my mix video 😊
Thanks for watching and commenting NOI 💜💖💜
This is most likely a bacterial infection from our beloved acrylics. Happens to me regularly when I've used a lot of products and air pockets get in with water. Soak in apple cider vinegar for 30 mins a day for a week or two, and let them grow out. Always works for me. Good luck!
Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
In my case it definitely is not.
See some info on that here:

Oh no, I feel for you love. I can’t do mine at the moment as I’ve got bad dermatitis. They’re thickened underneath and I am worried I will be losing a couple. I’m so gutted. Hope it grows out quickly and you stay well love. 🙂

Oh my!! Yes, I read that can happen. I'd also keep a light layer over them!
Take care!!! Thanks for watching 💜💖💜

Thank you.
That's very nice of you!! 💜💖💜
Take care I'll be thinking of you.💜💖💜
So sorry girlfriend hope it heals fast for ya. Thanks for bringing light to this subject. I thank you ☺️💋
Thanks so much!! They are getting closer before my eyes!! Tfw💜💖💜
So it never happens with polish?
Thanks I already am subbed to her, I've seen lots of her videos t
However, my problem was ok by Christmas 2022.
Heck I'm no physician lol
The Nail Hub, here on UA-cam, has awesome videos that truly teach. I showed her the video collaboration with light elegance and she realized that was her issue. Though that's most always a rash. But everyone is different too.🤷🏻♀️
As I say at the end of each video : You be you..

Yeah it's a hard thing to handle. I know you'd understand. Tfw💜💖💜
Hi there... sorry to see you're dealing with this.
Thanks for sharing your story so others might read and discover something!!💜💖💜
Mine are nothing compared to that.
(Still keeping that hands nails a bit shorter in case of falling on them again)
It kept gel polish on ok.
Lost my hyponychium too
OMG that hurt!!
My physician was amazed I had so much information ready lol🤣
But as my hands are always on film or photos it's understandable!!
Allergies can cause this too. I was so worried about that too.
I hope everything goes well!!! 🤞Lmk!!!💜💖💜
My physician said if almost all were effected more likely a whole body issue.
I do hope you get ot figured out as then it has to grow out still 😕
Yeah I'd assume hair will be effected soon too.
Bern decades now
Please update as you discover something/ anything that is a cause or ruled out.
I'm totally intrigued !! Plus I do care!!
I like to gather information/ peopled experiences and add to any relevant video too. Or mention in another while doing art. I think we all can benefit from this type of thing.

Both my thumbs are detached.. and i dont wear fake nails..

However, if the acetone gets into the cut area OUCH!! it will burn! Have to flush that out with water. (Remember, I'm not a physician 😉)
Do you have an electronic nail file?? A very thin bit with a point can remove a lot under the nail. Otherwise I only know that 100% acetone dissolves acrylic.
I know acrylic actually still cures data after application unlike gels who cure entirely in the lamp.
Let me know how things go!

This happened to me a few months ago! I was told to cut the nail all the way down as far as the lifting because it would not reattach...that it will have to grow back out. It happened to my left pinky and ring finger when I tried Modelones prep and primer 😩
Oh my! ☹Yeah, allergies can cause it too. Yeah they don't reattach but my dr said to leave it to protect nail bed from injury.
I hope yours are all better! Thanks for watching 💜💖💜

@@nailsofinterest Yes the waiting time sucks. We use our nails daily so this have to really suck. But it won't be to long before you can apply products again I hope💖
Mine are always peeling and very thin and very bendable.
That's Onycholysis!!! It's just a symptom ... a horrible one for us nail lovers, though😕. I was fine by December... I also now believe stress causes or adds to it..as I just went through a lot again and have it again. Ughhh😕
Thanks for watching and joining my UA-cam family too!!!💜💖💜
This same thing happened to my middle toenail.
Oh yikes! I can practically feel that!!😳
As a child, I caught my middle finger in a metal door...after a few months of the nail being bruised (so dark), it turned white and I lost the nail!

I would have replied earlier somehow UA-cam didn't tell me anyone left a comment ugh!! 😕

Did they prescribe you any medication?
Nope. It was determined this was the result of my fall. So an injury. I had bent a few back HARD so painful.😳🤕
No new medical condition. Already on meds for my condition. Falls are a result of a very old injury. They had free edges by that Christmas. (Very small ones) you can see on a video where I open my presents from other "channels"

Yep they were! @melcurina thank you💜💖💜
Nope, not in tgis case. That would be an allergic reaction. Typically, to HEMA. Mine was not that at all. Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
Injury set this event off.
Warning, it would hurt like crazy!😵
It grows out from "cuticle area" but definitely is attached to the sides, too. Plus attached to nail bed.

The detachment sounds like what I had, the brown not so much here is what pops up for detached nails that are brown:

If you can get to or until you can see a physician I'd try soaking a few minutes in very very diluted bleach or vinegar solution. Followed by tea tree oil. NOTE: *I'm Not a physician* just trying to help.
If new growth isn't your normal please see a physician!

Hi I got same Problem about two weeks ago I just got my toes nails done, I got it on my big toe… thanks very much for the information.
Oh you're welcome!! I hope all goes well!! Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
Took months to grow out this much 😕
Could be a year for a full nail.
There are several varieties f anti fungal creams OTC some say jock itch🤣 some say others... look at ingredients to see if different some are exactly the same lol
Lamisil/ lotriimin are two brand names
I hope this gets cleared up for you! Please let me know!💜💖💜

No pain.😉

Your nails have to grow out the damage.

I mentioned it's definitely not anything "catchy" as I had a biopsy sent to a lab as I was certain it would be. Nope, my 2 physicians were correctl☺️
I always sanitize my equipment throughly.

There are lots of medical issues that cause this, as this is a symptom of other issues.
I hope you get better soon! Thanks for watching and commenting!💜💖💜
Thank you. Hope you are healed too. Take care.
You too!!💜💖💜

Ma'am if you are looking for a sign, this is it. Stop putting acrylics/gel material on your nails if this is what your nails look like underneath the material. Please! Common sense, stop doing it.
Actually, my nails look perfect with or without product. 🤷🏻♀️ Always one to get compliments on them. This was a one-time medical experience due to health and injury, nothing to do with nail products. I'd never apply anything, not physician approved, on damaged nails. That's against any nail rule/ guide, etc, out there.
Thanks for your concern, and for watching NOI💜💖💜
Why do you let your nails grow? Why not just keep them without growing, cut them often? Isn’t it difficult to keep them clean?
It's no problem. You need to clean under edges of short nails too. It's actually easier if a tad long 😊 just use a brush.
Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
My nail is no attached with the nailbed.. What will i do pls reply 🙂
That's what happened to me and what this video is about.
Several injuries or health problems cause this.
All we can do is keep them short and clean (between nail plate and nail bed) while they grow out. Or further trouble could happen.
They don't re-attach at all.😕
Mine are all ok now!!
Thanks for watching 💜💖💜
I put a few links in description of video to help too.💜💖💜
@@nailsofinterest is there any medicine or treatment 🙂its so irritating . which treatment helps you?
If there is a health condition. You get that treated. For me, it was injury and vitamin issues.
So I took vitamins with biotin per my physician's advice. Used the treatment listed in the description. Just to have something good covering the nails. I kept them super short and used alcohol with the syringe to clean and keep germs/ fungus from developing.
I wore gloves when bathing. No standing water at all my physician said or it could easily develop a nail fungus. Then you need medication from a physician.
Sometimes an allergy, nail fungal infection, injury, or other health problems/ treatments can all cause this... one lady commented her chemotherapy causes hers😳
This is a symptom, not a health problem.
I hope this helps💜💖💜
