Boxing Heavy Bag Workout | 15 Minutes

- Whats up guys! By popular demand I've created another follow along boxing heavy bag workout video. This workout is a total of 12 rounds and is broken down like this:
2 Rounds of shadow boxing warm up
9 Rounds of heavy bag work
1 Round of shadowboxing cool down
The great thing about this workout is that it is only minutes long but it'll get your muscles burning and your heart pumping! You can always modify this workout to your needs. For example, if you find it too easy ,then you can INCREASE the intensity and/or DURATION of the rounds. If it is too difficult, then you can INCREASE the REST time. Other ways to make this more challenging is by using heavier gloves and shadowboxing with weights (under 5lbs) on.

I've worked out on traditional heavy bags ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.

As a professional boxer, what's your opinion about also doing this workout southpaw if your orthodox or vice versa?
I like to spend at least 30% of my training sessions in my opposite stance. (Shadow, heavy bag or even sparring)
I started by curiosity, and it felt almost like learning how to box from scratch again which was really fun to be honest.
I do think it has been quite beneficial for me because I am since more conformable playing with angles by performing shifts and counter from any stance for example.
On the other hand, I am wondering if I have to be careful with potential downsides of that strategy.

You’re welcome! I’d say go ahead and switch to southpaw if you find it beneficial the only thing that can potentially be an issue is while sparring. Reason being, you’re learning all over again(to a certain extent) and defense may be hindered when switching stances making you more susceptible to hits! It can easily be avoided by switching back but you need to learn it regardless so I’d say DO IT! 🥊

Tracks heart rate while training! No electronic device is 100% accurate but it’s a good measurement to track

Love the 1 min rounds. For us weekend warriors 1 min rounds are perfect. So many other channels have 3 mins rounds even for beginners. Just too much.

Great workouts but could use less commercials. Too much of a break and kind of a pain to take gloves off to skip.
That method doesn't appear to raise the heart rate much. I am 70 years old and I do 4 15 minute rounds with only sit ups and squats between rounds and I hit the bag continuously and 80% of the time they are very hard punches and believe me that raises the heart rate.
