One day, out of the blue, the ships show up. They begin fishing the planet for its people. You get caught, and taken by one of the orbital fishing ships. You are then transported to some ocean world where you are put on essentially a cruise ship with lots of fishing gear, and then become a fisher yourself. Just nice, relaxing fishing, and the fish have an excessive tendency to go after just about anything you think to use as bait.
*3:38* Just so you know, which Precursor you get isn't predetermined when you generate a galaxy. If you like a start you can copy the save file and _(as long as you saved _*_before_*_ you found your Precursor)_ keep rerolling your Precursor.
close but no cigar. precursers are prespawned when the galaxy is generated. however surveying systems in each precursors"territory" causing you to get that precursor if you disable ironman mode and go into debugmode you can see which part of the galaxy has the precursor you want and survey in their domain.
@@steffangriffiths7508 debugmode but yes. once debug is active you can see and fly around looking for the one you want. for example if you want psionic materialists look for the zroni precursors etc.
I've used a VERY SIMILAR build in my last 3 competitive games with friends (last time I ended up a Megacorp and the income was ABSURD), after finding the synergy. It is a BEAUTIFUL empire to play so I'm ecstatic to see it here!
Happy birthday and thank you soooo much for the vid! Hope life will be kind to you in the future, in which I hope to see stellaris continued as a series from you! Take care good lad🎉
I dunno the problem with "Anglers" is, to make it viable, you have to take 3 specific Civics to have uncapped alloy production. 3! And it also leaves you with the "meh" pearl divers. Now, in comparison, with the addition of subterranean, you only need the origin for the same effect xD
Sometimes, joy comes from seeing the biggest numbers. Other times, joy comes from knowing that your mediocre numbers came from an absolutely absurd Rube-Goldberg machine that works in spite of itself.
@@jakobknudsen6864 Yeah you're right. I had an ultra wide condensed shared burdens empire that I let automate itself and it ended up working with only a small deficit in consumer goods every so often.
I have watched your content since the start of Terratech and you have got me into so many games, including Stellaris! Thank you so much for being such a great guy with amazing pets as well. Happy Birthday!
I adore your stellaris vids. Some content feedback: maybe you could add channel memberships to offset the algorithm poison and loss of revenue of longer from playthroughs. I for one would be willing to pay a buck or two a month so see this series continued in the future, and I'm sure others would too.
Lathrix should not appologize for not uploading. Rest is required to keep Lathrix happy and Lathrix has to stay happy or he will not be able to produce happy content. And we require happy content to stay happy.
I always hate super negative and angry content. It's just such a downer. Lathrix's happiness is such a pleasant difference from what a lot of other people make.
Happy birthday Lathland! I've been watching your content for years at this point, and overtime I see you upload it's a pure joy to watch :) I appreciate all you do for your community!
Hope you're excited for Galactic Paragons, Lathrix. I'm excited to see what new stuff is coming and I'm hoping you will do a roleplay-focused run featuring all the new leader mechanics.
It's great to see the new building and patch changes in Stellaris making unique builds like this fishing powerhouse possible! Lathland's enthusiasm for the style of the build is contagious, and it's exciting to see it finally become viable with the recent updates. It's always impressive to see players think outside the box and come up with creative ways to play the game. Looking forward to seeing more showcase videos like this one!
hey Lathland, next time you need to farm for a specific precursor and don't want to use a mod, heads up that you can actually semi-force a precursor for a build! When you open a new system, open up your save in a text editor and go find the section on that system. It will tell you which precursor starts are in the system and what orbital bodies they're tied to. Tell your scientist to scan just those bodies, and if you don't get it, go explore the next system. If the wrong precursor pops up, just hit alt+f4 before the save updates and try again. It's a bit jank, but it's the system I used when I was rounding out my last achievments and was missing the Zroni because I'd somehow absolutely never seen them before.
Hey Lath, you Heretic! Would love to see content regarding the 40k universe, Whether you play the tabletop or have an army etc. Always love to see the IRL content from you such as pets and so on. Hope you had a wonderful 30th birthday, and I'm excited to see where you decide to take the channel!
This build got such a huge buff with 3.8. Just rush states craft tradition to get the extra civic earlier, get a governor to boost food and pop growth and pop off
Happy Birthday Lathrix! A big thank you as well for always uploading full playthroughs, despite how poisonous they are to youtube, and I believe I speak for (at least a large portion of the viewers) when I say your content is very pleasant to watch/listen to. Thank you and have a good one!
Always fun to see takes that make Montu scream distantly in the background; they famously HATE farmers in Stellaris! Nuts to think that we're already getting another DLC this month, can see how that'd slow down future Stellaris content from ya. If you're looking for new games to tackle, the game 'Dredge' seems to be a fun combination of chill yet terrifyingly chthonic in ways a fan of unhinged animals and plants like you would like!
if you ever want to test a specific precursor, rather than playing until you know it spawns, you can press tilda and enter the dev tools. There type debugtooltip and it will list the precursor that can spawn from that system. It really speeds up that process. Once you get the one you want, turn off debugtooltip just by typing it again. The list of the precursor number is precursor_1 Vultaum precursor_2 Yuht precursor_3 First League precursor_4 Irassians precursor_5 Cybrex precursor_zroni_1 Zroni precursor_baol_1 Baol
31:00 I think the job change mechanic was changed a few patches ago to only an change per calculation, and normally one cal/month. Also solves the problem with swinging population
Tip for the baol: unlike most precursors, they can spawn on a habital planet. If you exclusively survey habital worlds, and just explore the rest, then you will ne far more likely to get the baol. Other option is the zroni, who only spawn on habitable worldz.
Happy Birthday Larth! You're what I watched to find out whether I wanted to buy Stellaris and now it's easily one of my favorite games. The humble farmer build is funny and great, I played it before the agrarian update and now it's even better.
Happy Birthday Lathrix, I wish all the best for you and your family. I myself just turned 30 on the First of April and holy moly, does it feel wierd haha. Keep up the good work friend.
I'm definitely rocking this in my next game. I normally play a Barby Despo build of some kind, and I was a fan of angler with it. This might be the little extra touch I need to make that build fun
I agree Nihilistic evolution is the most underrated perk, especially since pop no longer grows linearly. It's really difficult to grow a large population on your own since each new pop increase the cost of a new pop by 0.25 growth point. Empires with low pops can grow them a lot quicker. This means as you kidnap other empires pop, not only are you crippling their economy making them an easier target later, you also boosting their pop growth, meaning their future pop harvest will be more interesting. It combines well with the necrophage origin or the synth ascension so can combine all their pops into your own.
I'm going to try a build similar to this using Stellaris Evolved. Thanks for all your videos, thanks for introducing me to such a good mod, and I hope you had a good 30th!
Welcome to your 30s. If your body is like mine and my friends' bodies, you have just exceeded manufacturer's warranty and will now be developing faults at random. Congratulations.
u have to do this again with the new update on leaders/council, this build is now actually pretty crazy !!! i started my build with fanatic egalitarian pacifist and the catalytic first instead of agrarian idyll. the starting ressource output is insane

If you've ever played Sword of the Stars, one of the first empires I made in Stellaris was basically the Liir Ocean Paradise. My build starts with negative minerals which is a pain.
I think instead of repugnant, using nondaptive might be better. Aquatic gives you extra habitability on ocean worlds anyway canceling nonadaptive out. You won't run any risk of low amenities this way. -Extra edit after watching a bit. If you're resetting for the Baol, you will probably be going for Gaia worlds also so taking the negative habitability makes even more sense it will easily be overcome by tech by the time you start converting planets.

close but no cigar. precursers are prespawned when the galaxy is generated. however surveying systems in each precursors"territory" causing you to get that precursor if you disable ironman mode and go into debugmode you can see which part of the galaxy has the precursor you want and survey in their domain.
@@nathansheppard1088 do you have to input a command to see the precursor regions?
They actually are coded to spawn in specific parts of the galaxy iirc.
