"Watch the weather change"....just like his disposition......mind of a genius
Tree odd 😂 is my favorite, you need to check them out playing Triad live in the 2000s they played with a lot of guest musicians during this song.
Instant like.
This was originally ONE song. They had to divide it into 3 because of the label I believe. I also believe it used to be called "Resolution."
Just a little trivia.
still to this day, massive chills at "hope and reason"
That was the best wrong summary I have ever heard
I tend to that quite a lot. 🤣🤣
One must remember that Maynard is a poet.
Adam, Justin, and Danny create the songs away from Maynard, and he will bring his lyrics to it. He's just another instrument.
This is why their performances are often frustrating to first-time goers. Tool is the opposite of flashy and they want you to be *in* the music.
Edit: Cute kitty!!!
My whole interpretation, which is based on numerous others theories and interpretations, comes in parts.
Disposition is a calm night before the storm, and you just know the seas will roll and rumble afterwards. Not much in the way of meaning but it all leads into the next song, with some foreshadowing riffs and that solo of course.
Reflection is the meat of the song, and this is where it gets interesting. Maynard makes allusions to the Moon, and how the Moon is big and bright and beautiful, but that light it shines with is not its own, it comes from the Sun. The Sun is the true source of light and life, and all that makes the Moon great really comes from an outside source. Maynard seems to be comparing himself to the Moon and saying that he needs to "crucify" his ego, which seems to be a big problem for him. I also believe "pining away" refers to when you mourn or grieve for something you've lost, so he basically needs to get his ego and narcissism under control or wlse he will lose his "Sun".
And Triad is just a badass band rocking the fuck out during that storm i mentioned earlier. I imagine Adam, Justin and Danny just perched on a mountaintop while storm clouds and lightning blast them while their going nuts.
Wow that interpretation is incredible
the weather is just a metaphor for his disposition - you can mention anything and it will change his disposition - mention anything and it's like like watching the weather change.
Chocolate Chip Trip is a drum instrumental. But it's JUST Danny... Headphones are an absolute must of course.
Love this reaction! Your description of how you felt listening to this is exactly how I felt (and still feel) when i listened to this for the first time. Such a chill vibe starting off with Disposition , Reflection always takes me on a journey, then the heavy hit of Triad at the end. What a ride! By the way, the rubber ball bouncing on the snare is actually Danny's drumstick. If you can, check out some live concert video of them playing Triad. There's a great drum cam video of Danny playing Triad live as well.
BTW Mavis is so cute!
ASMR is right. 😊 Mellowed me right out.
Oh, and the Itty bitty kitty's cute!
To pine over something means you are deeply, sadly yearning.
To pine away means to become less. A shrinking from your fullness.
Does anyone else just get an out of body experience during Reflection?
Disposition gives me that
Just listen to the music, no need in understanding exactly what he's talking about on your 1st listen, come on EMP you know this...LOL
YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!
edit: LOL its pronounced "try - add"
That's a ride!
Ticks & Leeches. A big middle finger to the record label. Banger!
I often put holy trinity on while working , it’s great music to vibe to
If you listen to the album one song blends right into the other perfectly.
Triad = Chaos 💣, great reaction 🔥🔥
The album Lateralus should be listened to in its entirety. It’s one big story about changing oneself. The Grudge (I have a grudge), the Patient (find patience), Lateralus( change), the trinity (acceptance).
Again, it should be listened to in its entirety. Phenomenal album. Up there with dark side of the moon.
Triad is my JAM! 🔥
Always note when doing TOoL songs it’s best to do them in chronological order 😎🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥
🌀👁🌀 Try-Add is how you pronounce 😂🤣😂 great reaction Emp 🔥 “Holy Trinity”
🔧🌀⚙️🌀👁🌀⚙️🌀🔧
…..you just have to go with the vibe and not try to over analyze or expect angry hard Tool 🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀
Pine away means to eack out an existence basically. Fade away if u will. (smile)
this whole album is ageless. you wouldnt know it came out in 2001.
omg the holy trinity
🤘🏻🌀
Have you ever done any psychedelic?
My man, you were not in the right headspace for this. Brought too many expectations/assumptions with you and forgot that its not a race nor is it a surface level piece of music.
Well hello Mavis
Like Triad, Disposition is ok, but I have always LOVED Reflection.
Actually these 3 songs form a trio, but it's really not necessary to listen to them together. Other TOOL songs are a single song divided into two parts and therefore it is necessary to combine them... for the holy trinity it is more a question of atmosphere than real necessity.
I'm 99% sure Danny said the 3 were written as one piece, then separated into 3 parts. Which is why I have a grudge against playing my vinyl copy.
"Pine away in a coffin'" that was my que to move on to another channel.
We are not tricking you... and please dont call me Sherley
Gotta love them Moving Pictures bass pedals in Reflection. Long live the Taurus.
What's the matter with a instrumental? Are you even a fan of music?
There is no such thing as sensory overload, our brains have the capacity to compartmentalize the sounds. Most people who have reviewed this song have loved it and been blown away. Maybe it’s time for the reviewer to go listen to Mettalica or Ozzy. TOOL is a sophisticated taste.
There is with autism
Cringe comment. Especially with that elitism.
@@Literallyjustmint ironic considering the song lyrics. Very cringe comment from tony
Get off the pipe man
would the people in the back, please be quiet, we're trying to listen to the song.........tool army est.1993..........tool army est.1993.
