- Hello there 👋
Welcome to the home of the Red Special Guitar Podcast.
In this instalment today we are talking to Thomas Brunkard. A forum member who performs in the Irish Tribute Band QWEEN. Thomas has been an active member of the community who has made using a digital rig a possibility for not just himself, but anyone interested. He often gives up his time and knowledge to help others and has his own UA-cam channel where he shows you how he has approached the digital Brian May rig using Amplitube 5

The Red Special Guitar Podcast
Tom is an absolute gent. A real asset to Dublin/Ireland's rock scene.
Agreed! He is a real asset to the Red Special Community too. Just dont tell him I said that..
@thomasbrunkard talking about the difference between what the audience feels or hears and the player is spot on. Such a great podcast this.
Thanks for stopping by. Thomas is a great guest 😊
@@TheRedSpecialGuitarPodcast Agree. Didn't get to listen to all of it last night,so looking forward to catching up tonight 👌
Great stuff! Great to finally meet you too……at the meet up!
Thomas did not disappoint on the podcast or in person did he?
Great !!!!!
Thanks for watching
It is wonderful to listen to Thomas's lilting Irish tones... and his voice. During his AmpliTube demonstration at the recent UK Red Special meet-up, I thought you had The Edge or Bono from U2 on stage playing Brian May material! 😀 Great to meet you Thomas. 👍🏻
Couldn't agree more DSGB. Thanks for listening :)
Wow great interview - really struck a chord (no pun intended) with me as another Dub. I got into Queen a bit earlier then Tom as I'm a bit older, but first time I saw BM live was the same gig in the point in 93. Also managed to get my hands on the BM Super Rock Guitarist book, think I had to get it by mail order. Just those old stories remind me a bit of my journey back then. My post Burns/pre BMG red special is long gone but I still love the BM sound, so much to take away from the interview and Tom's other videos. Actually saw "Qween" a few years ago, was really impressed even though I thought the guitarist's wig was awful :D
He does need a new wig 😂
Goodwins in Capel Street had that book. Jesus if I had known ya I'd have saved you a few quid 😂😂😂
Alright that was brilliant podcast I have picked up loads of information on the red special from Thomas and amplitude I found very fascinating to listen to you both of you can't wait for the next one keep well Thomas and John. dan🎸
Thank you for watching Daniel

😎
In the bag. Nice one.
A nicely edited podcast - well done you!
I tried a sixpence and it sounded great but was wearing out my optima gold plated strings really really fast, so I'm back to a plectrum
It all depends on how lightly you use it. Brian’s drops a lot of them as it’s a really light touch
Thank you that's good info@@TheRedSpecialGuitarPodcast
Bit of 'Dad advice' for ya.
If you want to really nail your favourite guitarist's technique, find out who HE idolised, and listen to their music. You will then hear where they get it from. I guarantee this works for every guitarist out their, whether it's Brian May, Eric Clapton, or Nuno Bat 'n' ball.
The other; listen more, watch less.
Great advice
