awesome advice! We have done night cloth from the begining, started w worhorses and mainly use sloomb now w exception of using flats whenever I feel artsy 😝
Great video! Very simple and straight forward! Have you ever tried wearing just fitted + wool cover? Not a PUL/TPU cover. And if so, did work? Do you think it could work? Thanks ❤️
I want to start night time diapering. I have covers already. I am going to order 4 of the fitted workhorse. Trying to decide if I need to order specifically the thirsties hemp inserts to go along with the fitted? Or can I use my existing Cloth eez insert (the 6 ply ones)?
It just depends on how much your little one wets. You might be able to get away with the inserts you already have. My first was a much heavier wetter than my second and we had to use the big Thirsties hemp prefolds for his extra booster. My youngest could get away with just the workhorse a lot of nights, honestly.
Hi, I have a newborn, gonna use cloth diapers for her after 1 month old. How often should I change her diaper if she is not a heavy wetter, I will use fitted and a cotton insert by GMD? Should I just check the diaper each time she wakes up (2-3 times at night for breastfeeding) and change it only when it is with stool?
For your boys diapers over night, I noticed they don’t have stay dry inners. Does that seem to bother them all night? My son seems to be bothered when he feels wet, any thoughts on that or how to help with that? Also, do you have any tummy sleepers? My boys both sleep on their bellies! I’ve noticed lots of leaking onto their clothes in the morning (8 hours later).
We used to use liners. When my youngest was smaller, I thought he had sensitive skin and we always used a fleece liner with him. I just cut up a thin baby blanket to make the liners. I don't remember why or when we stopped using liners but we don't use them anymore unless I'm slathering a bunch of diaper cream on their butt or they seem to just be having a sensitive skin day. They both are tummy sleepers and I found wool pants over a diaper and cover worked to prevent wicking on their belly side. You can get old wool sweaters at Goodwill and sew the sleeves together for some pants. My mom made us a bunch that way. I'm sure there are tutorials online.
Yus I love this! I’ve just started my 3rd baby (7 months) in cloth diapering and have decided to shoot for night cloth as well. I’m having trouble though and am going amazon crazy after 3 night of him being saturated in the morning! I’m looking into the Thirstie Covers but don’t know if I should put him in the size one or two. He’s 16.6 pounds so will be out of the size one soonish and I’d get longer wear out of the size 2. When did you start your one yr old in the size 2?
Eren was 3 months old when we switched to size 2. If recommend that. They're very roomy, but so are imagine one size, diaper rite, and Nickis covers. They're all great for holding in all the nighttime diaper layers.
Do you worry that it’s hot and uncomfortable on them all night with it thick and wet by morning? I’ve CD my first two, but only at night when they were smaller. I’m due with #3 soon and an rethinking my process.
No, I don't worry about that. Both of my older boys didn't complain about their diapers. You can use fleece liners if you're concerned about the wetness though.
I'm brand new to CD. Last night I tested an overnight with my 2yr old son with a thirsties duo cover, a medium cotton prefold in a pad fold, a hemp doubler in the center of the prefold, and a fleece liner on top. He woke up saturated but no leaks. I may add one more booster/doubler tonight and see since I'm still in the figuring it out phase. Hes brought me dry prefolds to change his diaper vs bringing me a disposable thru the day today. So its not bothering him. Im actually hoping it'll get him closer to potty training. And I'll also be CDing my 1 yr old son once I get it down a bit :)
Finally someone who has an easy nighttime diapering
Thank you for this! We are still using sposies for my daughter at night because she’s a heavy wetter.

I wouldn't recommend any of the fitteds I've featured in this video. If there is a brand with a specific overnight fitted, that might work.
When did you start having to using overnight padding to help with wetting on your littles
