For a baby that pees a lot all at once I highly reccomend putting the hemp on the bottom under the microfiber and the prefold. 😊 Hemp absorbs really slowly where as microfiber absorbs really fast. Cotton also absorbs faster than hemp so I'd reccomend it on top too. 😊
you had me at "bulletproof" -- thank you! i will definitely be ordering some hemp inserts and doing this with my pocket diapers. My son is 5 weeks and leaks every night only after a few hours - ive been using 2 microfiber inserts at night.
I needed this video! Thank you! I bought hemp inserts but was trying to use them with my AIOs and he’s been leaking every night. Going to stock up on prefolds and a few covers!
I adore prefolds and wool covers, but my kids needed more absorption than prefolds alone so I do keep a huge stash of them around, fitteds(especially for nights) are our solution. They flood fast and furious, and if I put them in PUL covers they get rashes from the moisture being trapped inside. Wool keeps their clothes dry and let's their bums breathe. Glad you found a great solution for you!
Thank you for making this video! I'm going to try this set up for overnight! Is there a specific brand of prefolds you like? I think I have 2 that are cloth-eez. I'm considering swapping out my microfiber inserts with prefolds for in my pocket diapers anyway.
You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful! You'll have to let me know how it works out 😊 I mostly use osocozy prefolds - all the stuff I mentioned is linked in the discription box 😉
Thanks for this love this as other videos are a lot of talking and not straight to the point like your videos. I’ll be looking at yours more please share more
Are the covers pocket? I have some with the to bands on the lags and what are the prefolds made out of? Like you said night time can be scary with cloth and km worried about it
No they aren't pocket diapers, you just lay the inserts on them instead of packing them inside. The prefolds are cotton, and the inserts I use in this video are hemp. Oh, don't worry about it, it just takes some trial and error and you'll figure out the best way to cloth diaper at night :) Some kiddos don't pee a lot at night so its never an issue ;)
Can you please do a size comparison between happy flute and thirsties size 2. I'm in the part of the world where happy flute is easier to find than thirsties.
My toddler sleeps 12 to 14 hours and she's soaked in a disposable. I'm new to CD and nervous about her being a heavy wetter at night! 😭 I have a newborn almost here too. But I'm excited regardless to start cloth diapering. I've been using cloth wipes for months !
Oh my! Haha yeah just see how this method works for you, it’s always worked for my heavy wetters. Since I’ve made this video though I put the hemp insert on the bottom since it absorbs slower, just something else to keep in mind ;)
@@WilsonHomestead yes thank you I heard that's a good idea. I've been doing lots or research! Happy to start with my toddler and my newborn will be cloth diapering from the beginning so yay!
Try to flip your sandwich upside down. Put hemp inserts under preflat. It is better to put something which absorbs fast against baby skin. Cotton absorbs faster than hemp. 🙏😚😉
I have some size 1 and size 2 and I use them both, I just fold over the end of the longer ones :) Sorry though, I guess I forgot to link the size 1 :( here they are amzn.to/3c0AOUI

I do the same!
Thank you! I’ve been nervous about starting at night, but seeing this makes me excited!

You are so welcome! That should definitely help with the leaking. Hope it goes well for ya :)

Awesome! I'm so glad I could help!
I’ve been trying so many different variations, just keep trying new things until something works for you!

Glad it was helpful!

Yes I will add it too my long list of ideas for future videos haha ;)
I'm a bit confused--are you only using a diaper cover at night, and not putting it over a regular / cloth diaper? I'm totally new to this.
Really helpful. Thank you
Glad to hear that!
THANK YOU!!!!

Since I've made that video, I have switched to doing it that way, thanks! :)
You are beautiful🥰🌹
😊 thank you
Those covers with extra gussets are the best. I help with my grand daughter and have bought cloth for her.
Yeah I agree, I love them! :)
But it doesn't weight more nd very thick nd uncomfortable for baby??
What about a tummy sleeper that sleeps 12-13 hours a night? Any recommendations???
I would fold an extra cotton or bamboo insert and put it in the front of the diaper, just experiment with that for a few nights and see how it goes :D
Are your prefolds size 2? I bought them and they seem super long!
