Hi! Great post. Do you have a link to the study about the glutes and the subtalar joint motion? I'm interested in reading that! Thank you!

Thanks for the info Dr. Emily. I'll spare you the details of my situation that I've been dealing with for nearly 5 years but this video, I believe, speaks to one of the main issues. I appreciate the exercise you have demonstrated and I was wondering how many repetitions, sets, and times per week it should be performed? I work on my glutes, e.g., bridges, clamshells, leg extensions, etc., five days a week but I've kept a persistent pain the glute med. and the peroneal area (right leg) and I kept thinking that the big toe was somehow related. Yes, I am flat footed, I have orthotics (not custom), and until this injury showed up at the end of 2019 very active (I'm 70 yrs old). Thanks again. Jeff

I have hallux limitus, my big toe will dorsiflex, but painful, I duck walk more on this foot in spite of having better dorsiflexion in ankle and my hip rotates inward better on this leg where my foot has this condition. I wear custom orthotic, the one problem I do have in the same leg is my glute is weaker than unaffected leg
