@@Kenshiro3rd No, it's a five actor story. Even with the finagling JMS had to do, the final season is a fantastic end cap to the series with a set of proper goodbyes for all our characters. Something we almost never get in TV shows.
@@OpenMawProductions The “finagling” as you put it involved cramming everything planned for the 5th season into the second half of the 4th season, as it was going to be their last season on UPN. Such a great show and under-rated in my opinion. My 3 favorite shows are B5, DS9, and Battlestar Galactica(The reboot). B5 has the best story arc and continuity, DS9 has the best episodic story telling and character development, and BSG has character development that rivals DS9 as well as a general feel that is better than the former imo.

Probably the same way many B5 fans felt when ST:DS9 came out. Both "THE LAST SHIP" & "CRUSADE" feature a cast of characters on some sort of ship dealing with the effects of a plague. Even though they may have more differences than simularites this is still enough for many fans to cry foul.
Very nice music from this brilliant, beautiful and rich sci-fy universe and show! Each character is unique, with it's own goals, the political intrigues are well-written and the viewer has the sensation to face an ancient and complex universe!, Probably one of the best ever made! ^^

After finishing B5 on DVD, I started reading fanfiction: Two Stories by the same Author stand out and I recommend you to search for them "The Dilgar War" and "The Last Star" (about the Battle of Proxima 3 during the Earth-Minbari-War). You can find the first at fanfiction.net and the latter at forums.spacebattles.com. Written so well that I consider them headcanon.
kuribayashi84 Or people could go out and read the actual books released by actual authors that were actually good, instead of tainting their memories of Babylon 5 with this fan fiction trash. I recommend To Dream in the City of Sorrows, which JMS declared 100% canon, and details Sinclair's time after leaving Babylon 5 but before War Without End. Also read the Psi Corp Trilogy which chronicles the birth, life and death of Alfred Bester.
MonstrousEntity I agree that many fanfictions are written badly, and I mean *badly*. Hence, I concentrate on those that are both written good and have a story/concept I'm interested in. Those are very few and far between, but in this particular case the search actually paid off. And for what its worth, the Author mentioned that he's starting to write professionally.
Jason Mimiaga Agreed. A number of storywriters for shows today got their start in (shock, shock) FANFICTION! To say that fanfics aren't real stories and/or trash is just reprehensible.
I always thought the music for Season 5 should have been moved over to Crusade as the theme song. Too Franke didn't want to compose Crusade and too bad TNT screwed it up.
Part of me always wishes that the finale, when they're showing the actors images, that they'd reprised the S1/S2 theme. I don't think we heard it after S2. The Babylon project was ultimately a success, just not in the way they planned.
Some parts of this sound are really my favorite, especially the first season time 0:30 and culmination of season 4. I'm not sure if this is season 4, but the timing is 6:46 Regarding the Star Craft Brood War game Protoss and Zerg idea, I even suspect that they took it from Babylon - 5 - Vorlons - Protoss / insect-like Shadows - Zerg. Even some of the Protoss observer are 1: 1 with the sounds who Vorlons make.
Wow... The only one I had heard of was Andreas. I found that shocking, and I find that 4 others are dead too ? I always assume actors are immortal that it's hard to realise they can have motorcycle accidents, cancer or other things steal their life away from us. Rest well indeed friends
The closest thing to Babylon 5 but nowhere near as good is The Expanse. I am such a lover of Babylon 5 and watched it here in the UK many years ago. It truly is like a large novel told over several seasons. It was pretty much written start to finish before it even was filmed and it worked.
They really need to reboot this show. On second thought scratch that, beside season 5 it would be hard to make it better (beside the visual effects of course).
Francois424 No! No reboot. I agree about a remastering, like ST:TOS got, but there's a reason that people don't like reboots...and it's not from blind nostalgia. It's because reboots ruin good shows.
@chrisklecker I can see that: but for me, season 5 theme seemed almost like a resolve of all the past 4 years of struggle B5 faced. WIth the Pres. being assassinated, the shadow war, freeing earth/mars from the Clark regime; the music almost has a feel of, victory as well as purpose of what B5 has stood for. The music of Crusade needed a darker feel, considering the conflict that faced earth. Still Crusade's music could've been done better. Agreed, season 5 music would've worked.
This show reks star wars (maybe not rogue one) and star trek both. The story is fantastic, I remember getting so hyped as a kid for every episode...thank you to the cast for always delivering such amazing performances and RIP to those who moved beyond the stars 💫

Very well said! I can't add any more to what you've said... you've summed it up to perfection!
I wonder which theme they'll have for The Road Home.
Mayhaps the only Sc-Fi that was on budget
Season 5's theme was perfect.
season one two 4 and five are most awesome themes. Season 3 has this brutal war theme.
You can find it on the CD "Babylon 5, Vol. 2: Messages from Earth" (Season 1-4) and "Babylon 5 - The Ragged Edge" (Season 5)
Very nice music from this brilliant, beautiful and rich sci-fy universe and show! Each character is unique, with it's own goals, the political intrigues are well-written and the viewer has the sensation to face an ancient and complex universe!, Probably one of the best ever made! ^^
Lets hope the mootednew version makes it onto screen. So many of the original cast have passed RIP
Magnificent. Thanks so much for posting!
Can't find these full versions, minus the narration, anywhere
Season 3 and 4 intros are the best IMO
masterpiece
Agreed, it's such a shame that Crusade got cancelled just as it began to get interesting. Wouldn't mind a spin-off covering the telepath wars, either.
PlasticLawnDaemon There are a set of books covering it.
I wish this tv series came back on the tv.
We loved and still love them all. to all rips too. renderings made by AMIGA ????
Watched years ago when was first on .. Have DVD's and movies .. On second round of watching .. Ain't crap on tv with 300 channels .
babylon 5 ist und bleibt die beste serie für immer keine serie hat mich je wieder dermassen berührt alleine wenn ich an diesen nightwatch verein denke und die jetzige entwicklung ansehe. die serie war ihrer zeit dermassen weit voraus
A blu-ray release would be wonderful :)
Looks like your in luck if you have HBO max
This is awesome, thanks for posting. :)

I agree that many fanfictions are written badly, and I mean *badly*. Hence, I concentrate on those that are both written good and have a story/concept I'm interested in. Those are very few and far between, but in this particular case the search actually paid off. And for what its worth, the Author mentioned that he's starting to write professionally.
+MonstrousEntity
Or they can read what they want and reach their own conclusions.
so true i lav it
Jason Mimiaga Agreed. A number of storywriters for shows today got their start in (shock, shock) FANFICTION! To say that fanfics aren't real stories and/or trash is just reprehensible.
Best Sf show ever! I miss it.
Einfach GEIL!!!^^
That is so awsome thanks
I just remembered that Michael O'Hare died :(
I always thought the music for Season 5 should have been moved over to Crusade as the theme song.
Amen, miss them all.
If you stare at the station long enough, it begins to spin...
Interesting to trip across this, did you get any copyright problems on it? It doesn't seem available to stream anywhere...
Some parts of this sound are really my favorite, especially the first season time 0:30 and culmination of season 4. I'm not sure if this is season 4, but the timing is 6:46
Regarding the Star Craft Brood War game Protoss and Zerg idea, I even suspect that they took it from Babylon - 5 - Vorlons - Protoss / insect-like Shadows - Zerg.
Even some of the Protoss observer are 1: 1 with the sounds who Vorlons make.
Thx for this upload :))
We have all conquered our own shadows!
and so it begins...
If you folks haven't seen it I'd highly recommend watching the spin-off series Crusade.
Epic song
Now if we only can have a redone CGI effects version. The current versions looked dated with its effects it needs an updated look.
Wow... The only one I had heard of was Andreas. I found that shocking, and I find that 4 others are dead too ? I always assume actors are immortal that it's hard to realise they can have motorcycle accidents, cancer or other things steal their life away from us.
Rest well indeed friends
when the beat drops at 5:25
Better yet, Leave B5 as is and do finish Crusade. It never got the due it richly deserved.
funny thing the show was called babylon 5 and had 5 seasons
It's currently on German TV at 5:15pm, on a channel called TELE5 :D
Now for a succesor called babylon 6 and a spinof of babylon 4 during first shadow war
The closest thing to Babylon 5 but nowhere near as good is The Expanse. I am such a lover of Babylon 5 and watched it here in the UK many years ago. It truly is like a large novel told over several seasons. It was pretty much written start to finish before it even was filmed and it worked.
Missed one. The pilot theme.
I loved this TV show the moment the pilot episode came out in 1993
They really need to reboot this show.
The story is fantastic, I remember getting so hyped as a kid for every episode...thank you to the cast for always delivering such amazing performances and RIP to those who moved beyond the stars 💫
whaat? What about Battlestar Galactica? It was a great show. Also, have you played the mass effect video games, its largely influenced by Babylon 5
great great
