The interesting part is it kinda makes you rethink everyone you've met in the series up to this point. Because prior to this Val was just a bratty, sassy, pimp instead of a total monster. And even now his relationship with the Vees is still kinda cute. Husk and Angel seem largely self-destructive but people like Alastor, Zestial, or Carmine? I mean Alastor alone is...hooo boy.
@@Barret9559 I think if they get around to a season 2 in the next 5 years that we’ll get a better idea of how strong she can be. Theres.. the scene.. in this season, but I didn’t feel like she really has the whole using power thing mastered yet. Lucifer can do so many things that she hasn’t shown the ability to do
Not sure if you caught it, but usually Angel dust gets nervous and slightly panicking when Val tries to contact him, but at the end when Angel dust was taking to Husk, Angel was comfortable enough to start trash talking Valentino (his boss)
The look on Luke's face at the end of Poison... That song hits a lot differently with context, luckily the next episode is a bit of a palette cleanser after this.
I was thinking this. I was like "damn, it got him good like it did all of us.." Angel's VA really nailed it at the end to drive home just how tormented he is.
This is not a comfortable episode. It's dark, and tragic, and extremely uncomfortable... and that's the point. This is, without question, the most realistic depiction of SA that I've ever seen or even heard of in any form of media, animated or not. This is how it *is*, for thousands of people, every day, in our own very real world. We *need* that to be uncomfortable. We cannot allow ourselves to look at this and say 'this is ok, carry on'. And that's why this episode is the best of the series, hands down. Not because it's pleasant, not because it's 'fun', but because it's real.
Three things that get me in this episode: 1. The fact that Angel is at one point surrounded by literal FIRE...and he's more scared of the glare Valentino's giving him. 2. The fact that Angel is getting @bu$ed and all he cares about is Charlie not getting hurt. 3. The last line of "Poison". 😭
19:28 Not really, Charly is right. Valentino still owns Angel's soul and there is nothing Charlie can do about it. You should taken action only if you are sure the person bing assaulted has a way out of the situtation, and permament escape. Otherwise you might "help" them at the moment, but the assailant can come back at a later time.
Minor Spoiler Warning: Yeah, but as angel learns later on, there is a loophole in the contract. Val only owns him in the studio. So if you take away his studio, and prevent him from acquiring a new one, he essentially has no power over angel
I dont usually get uncomfortable when watching shows, but this episode and the dog scene in FMAB were the only times when I was really uncomfortable. I agree that this episode was well written.
husk actually sold (gambled) his soul to Alastor (you can see it at the scene where hes talking about it), like Valentino owns Angel's. So thats why they live in the same shit sandwich :)
I forgot we should have been warning you about the subject matter not just the censoring. But if it makes you feel any better, Prime released the first four at once then weekly, so a lot of people were sittting very depressed and sad for a week. The next episode you get a glimpse of what Husk's situation is (and if you saw the pilot, Alastor just dragged him to the hotel). But the next episode, the first like 2/3 of it is total chaos, like even the first song is part of the chaos before it kind of hits you...well, here is a warning for you, the dad feels.
Alastor might not be Valentino, but there’s more than one way to hurt someone. The episode main focus isn’t Husk so we just don’t see much about it but I can’t imagine his situation is all that good. Just in a different way from Angel’s.
Very true. I think its because Husk seems more like someone who can handle it better or do something about it compared to angel that has given up and just want to be broken so it can all end. Making the viewer sympathetic more to angle then husk especial since husk also fucked with other peoples souls and to my knowledge angle did not.
Alastor is not inocent to let's not forget this cannibal also kill and more vox velvette and adam and lute and sera are evil all are in hell with reasons
People forget that Alastor is much, much worse than Valentino. Valentino seems to have malignant narcissistic personality disorder expressed with psychopathic tendencies. This makes his behaviour easy to see. Alastor was a serial killer and those have by default psychopathic personality disorder type sociopathy. They hide their cruelty and can inflict a lot more pain than the previous since you can at least see malignant npd coming from a mile away. Ppd-type sociopathy just fools you all the way until they're ready to hurt you. I think the show actually represents ppd-type sociopathy really well as Alastor thinks he's smarter than everyone. In reality, PPd-type sociopathy is less intelligent than others and deeply cowardly as they only do things that benefit them, which makes them less intellectually curious and willing to take risks since failing is something they see as never benefitting them, despite the objective reality that we can only become better at something by failing. Spoiler warning from here on. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . This can be seen in Dad Beat Dad where his response to Lucifer when he has none is "fuck you," you can even see Lucifer smiling because he knows that he bested Alastor with that grade school-level insult. You can see it in episode 8 as well. He only confronts Adam because he thinks he can win. When Adam stops pulling his punches he's extremely surprised that he was bested and rather than try to fight he just nopes out of there. Contrast this with Sir Pentious who goes to confront Adam despite knowing that his chances of survival are extremely low and he knows that since he does the things he wanted to as he could see no tomorrow where he would regret doing so.
26:46 I love the detail of the ropes cause it shows how Husk is completely owned by Alastor wheras Angel is only owned by Val in the studio (someone please correct me if I'm wrong)
I think that's just interpretation. I think you can view the scene in many ways, example being: Val's grip is not as secure on angle as Alastors is on husk's. Or its more sexy looking then husk, representing that Alastor does not care about being sexy and Val does. I think Val is the weakest mentally out of the V's and can be ''defeated'' by someone weaker then him in power with prep time and exploiting his anger as he is so quick to anger.
I like to think it reflects the Overlords- like Valentino is temperamental and unpredictable while Alastor is more cunning and calculating....also Angel's kind of look like bondage.
Well, that and he probably wasn't lying about everyone spilling the beans to the bartender when they're drunk. You really can find out a lot about people just by paying attention when their inhibitions are lowered.
One thing I really like about this episode is that it shows that sometimes that we have problems that can't be solved with simple solution and at those times it can be really helpful just to have someone to talk and relate to
Running theory is Alastor didn't take Husk's soul with a single hand but with many mundane, harmless deals that eventually got Husk to sell his soul. Plus he's a war vet, Vietnam I believe, gambling addict and HAS to do anything Alastor wants because he owns him. Husk may be acting like a bartender but I'll wager he was a casino focused overlord when he had power.
Yep… we did warn you about this episode Also now you know the context for the end of Poison when you were shocked and confused as the voice breaking when you initially reacted to the song
Man.. you know you have watched this show too many times when you can see the exact scenes happening even with the censor screen blocking your view. Like even when the screen went black with a full on block i knew exactly what was happening lmao😂 Anyhow, love your reactions to this show❤ this was an amazing watch as always (even with the heavy subjects) so thanks for another great reaction vid and i'll hopefully see you in the next(uωu 人)💕💕 (Btw, love how you love niffty lmao. I recently managed to get my dad to watch this with me and he loved her too so it was fun to see~)
Little information about Husk and his purring. Cats can purr in at least 3 situations: when they are happy, when they feel threatened/are angry, and when they are injured (to heal faster). It's very likely Husk purred because he was angry, during that bar scene with Angel.
I want to thank u for spending ur time censoring this awesome episode so it would not trigger any negative options, but still doing it to save it and ur reaction to it. I loved Hazbin Hotel since i watched pilot (huge Alister fan btw), but this episode touch so many strings in my soul, "Poison" is absolutely epic. Keep enjoying this banger of series and good luck!
I loved Hazbin and then I saw the pilot and loved it more lol. Wish I’d seen the pilot first, but no one told me there was an episode that wasn’t on Amazon
@@yozarian86 i mean, i get if you're just a casual fan. That IS how the name sounds. But I just think if you've gone deeper into the rabbit hole, a self-proclaimed "huge fan", you'd have come across how it's actually spelled and corrected yourself, no? A lot of the people I've seen who've misspelled the name also say they've been huge fans for a long while. I just find it fascinating.
They're all pretty equally terrible in different ways. Vox enables and allows everything Val does as well as all the manipulation and such he does, and Velvette helped make love potions.
The black of the eyes are key to soul ownership. One black eye half owned under contract. Two black eyes. Total ownership to whichever overlord you sold it to
❤❤I hadn't gotten to one of the videos quickly until now when I was wandering around UA-cam. This is one of the strongest and darkest chapters of Hazbin Hotel, here the other side of Angel Dust is known. It's a good reaction, thanks for bringing it. ❤❤
16:02 at the end of Posion and you hear Angels “…live for tomorrow… “You held back tears I saw them forming in yours eyes! It’s okay trust all of us seeing that broke our hearts and at least for me each time I watch it I cry! Send you a virtual hug 🤗
Just found your channel through this episode. Poison and Hazbin Hotel in general has been sort of my crack recently and been obsessed with looking for reactions to it.
I'm commenting for algorithm purposes and bc I actually wanna lol this episode has my literal 2 favorite songs in it. Yes the episode is much more mature themed than others but wow does it hit home this is why this show is so amazing its able to connect to people on a very personal level.
15:59 u can just see the emotion on ur face seeing Angel struggling to even be alive. Thats exactly how ure suppose to feel for it it was on purpose, thats why i appreciate this show so much it shows all sides of abuse and type struggle n pain. People gotta see that.
So... I recently watched through Hazbin Hotel while staying at a friend's house (was visiting them in the US for a month). We watched it together, none of us had seen it before. After poison we had to pause, open a bottle of rum and talk/drink for about an hour before we could continue. It was hard enough for me to watch, then my friend told me about how their ex wife tried to literally poison them. Fucking phenominal storytelling but damn does it not pull punches. Heck, that is part of *why* it is so phenominal
Husk's life looks fine but he's Alastor's slave with no say in his life and no way to defend himself if Alastor decides he's not in the mood to put up with Husk's attitude. Just like Angel's life seems pretty good until Valentino decides to insert himself into it. Charlie did come in too strongly and make things worse. She didn't understand Angel's situation and barged in without his knowledge or consent and he was the one who had to pay the price for her pissing Valentino off. And, yes, she could absolutely kick Valentino's ass but that wouldn't help as sinners are immortal and will regenerate from anything except death by angelic weapons so it'd just be her pissing him off and him punishing Angel for it. Until Angel's contract can be broken there's nothing Charlie can do.
28:40 This "3 bills" part is a reference to the music video "Addict" which you haven't seen yet as it's not in the main series, it's basically Poison before Poison but with a music video you can blur/edit out less of.
Lol the entire series is actually fully visible on alot of reaction channels tbh. They show literally *EVERYTHING* I mean Helluva boss is a yt only show so far annnnnnnnnnd... well that's a lot more........extremel lol
So about being in Hell, but everyone being scared of fire... it's literally Hellfire. Meaning even though they're dead, it absolutely can hurt them. So Angel was in quite a lot of danger when the fire broke out, but he never took his eyes off Val, the monster, the biggest threat in the room. As much as he wants to leave with Charlie, he knows he can't, and he wants her safe, whereas he can't be. Angel is such an amazing layed character. After this episode you have to go back to even the Pilot and Addict music video and put things in context to realize how much pain he's constantly in and the mask he never takes off except for very choice moments. His hypersexualization makes even more sense, because studies show often SA victims use the tool of their abuse as a weapon for themselves as a way to cope and possibly protect themselves against others. He has every reason to not ever trust people or be kind to anyone else in Hell, but he does anyway. I think it shows just how much he does want to succeed at the Hotel and how big his heart is that he is trying to help the best ways he knows how and participate. Like with the trust building exercises, he suggested BDSM because it's what he knows, and it IS supposed to be based on ultimate trust. When he was literally thrown off a building, he still helped and got Sir Pentious out of there, then dragged him back up and down since he couldn't move on his own. Even in the pilot, when he is with Cheri Bomb, he's helping because she's a friend, and she helped him leave Val to go to the hotel. Like he said to Vaggie, he thought helping friends was a good quality they wanted him to have. He even pushes Cheri out of the way when one of the Egg Bois fires an unknown weapon at them and takes the hit himself. Even if it turned out to just be ropes, he didn't want Cheri to get hurt if he could help it. If you go back and listen to the things Val has him doing in the guise of 'work' you start to realize that while they may be seen as sex acts they get progressively more and more violent and debasing. Angel puts on his mask and disassociates so much because he's being tortured. He likes sex, he very clearly hates his job. He gets so defensive about it because he knows the pain it caused him. He is the definition of 'Yeah, he messed up, and has unattractive habits. BUT it doesn't define his entire being, and he absolutely deserves better.' 🩷💛💙
Hello, your favourite subscriber here. Just wanted to note that at 26:44 Angel's chains are all messy and unorganized since he is trapped by Valentino like more of a thing you'd see in adult movies, meanwhile Husk's chains are properly and tightly wrapped up since he is trapped by Alastor who does a much more clean job at his tasks.
Angel's chains arent messy or unorganized. In fact, it's perfectly organized and deliberate. It's from BDSM, though I dont know the specific type of restraint that is. What I do know is that those are complicated af and precisely placed--restricting just the right amount of movement and accentuating the "assets", hurting just enough but also giving pleasure (if u r into that). Valentino isnt unorganized or messy in his deals. He's just as cunning and controlling as Alastor, just with a different presentation
Even if Charlie beat the shit out of Val, it wouldn't matter unless she erased his soul. If not, he still would own Angel's soul, and we have no reason to believe any being in hell can terminate a soulbound contract apart from the owner. And I don't think Charlie could bring herself to erase anyone; it's just not in her nature. You can have all the power in the world, but it's only relevant if you are willing to use it.
Every time I watch someone react to Poison I'm waiting for their reaction to Angel with an O gag in his mouth when it says 'resist another gulp'. That scene is like O.O
Songs like in this episode really need to be listened to in context to understand their depth. Thank you very much for such gentle censorship and cutting, allowing us to see your reaction! The plot will become more twisted, there will be some very cool episodes ahead, but 4 remains my favorite
I agree that Husk probably got the better deal compared to Angel but still he is basically Alastors slave. Alastor treats him better, at least from what we have seen, but I imagine Husk did not submit from the start until Alastor put him in his place. Husk does not strike me as the kind of guy to just follow each command from the get go, so he probably got to see Alastors worst sides as well. The difference is that as long as he plays nice Alastor gives him some kind of freedom and only summons him If he needs him to do something (like being the bartender) while valentino is a manipulative control freak. But I imagine if you make Alastor angry it's also not a fun experience.
Another great earlier Keith David role is ‘Goliath’ the leader of the New York Clan of Gargoyles from the early ‘90s Disney animated series… It’s basically Disney’s take on Batman the Animated Series, and it’s just as dark as B-TAS
yess dude that's why we needed you to watch this show just the songs are great but the songs with context are even more impactful. The writing of both of Vivienne Medrano's shows is outstandingly great! Now you only gonna need to promise us to watch and react to Helluva Boss as well after you've finished Hazbin Hotel. The writing, characters and overall story are just as good my dude 🖤👀 and the songs in this show are amazing as well ufff dude come on😌 you just gotta
Yeeessss the episodes i personally have been waiting for his reaction for. I got the popcorn and soda. This is gonna be gooooood (and bad) *eats popcorn*
For perspective on Alastor and Husk's relationship, it's helpful to keep in mind Alastor used to torture and kill overlords he disliked, and that's like the FIRST THING he started doing when he got to Hell, so clearly he thinks overlords as a class are particularly prime targets for whatever moral code he likes to use to pick victims. Clearly he sees Husk as worthy enough to not just outright kill him, we've gotten BTS lore that Alastor supposedly considers Husk a close friend and even in the text Alastor acts pretty friendly and affectionate with him most of the time, but... Husk heavily implies here he was gambling with souls in his care and lost them to Alastor. Alastor pointedly calls him HuskER instead of Husk as he prefers to go by. Probably what he went by when he was an overlord, who likely preyed on gamblers until they were _husks_ of their former selves. Husk probably goes by Husk now because Alastor did the same to him, and of course probably to get away from the harm he used to cause people and the status he feels he lost. And Alastor probably calls him that partially as a faux sign of respect, pretending to see/treat him as an equal or peer, but also in part because he likely doesn't think Husker CAN change, let alone has changed. Alastor said in the pilot he doesn't believe people can change or be redeemed, so he probably doesn't want to let Husk distance himself from what he used to do, because Alastor probably thinks Husk would do it all over again if he ever had the power to. Like clearly Alastor doesn't think he's a good person, and we know what Alastor does to people he finds distasteful, so it would make sense if Alastor is not always as benevolent as we've seen so far, especially since the pilot also shows us Husk is still gambling.
No, he killed those he knew were weaker than him. With a sociopathic personality-type he would never do anything that was never to his own benefit and failing or working hard would never be to his own benefit.
@@nielsjensen4185 What tf are you waffling about bro??? You're full of nonsense, literally EVERYTHING the show says about Al's past explicitly says he did not go after weak overlords. Vaggie says in the pilot he "toppled overlords who had been DOMINANT for centuries" and implied that the overlords he killed were hell's "most ancient and destructive evils", Mimzy says the overlords he killed were "not small ones either, we're talking heavy hitters". Alastor also isn't necessarily a sociopath, and regardless 1- That's not how antisocial tendencies or ASPD works. People arbitrarily decide what benefits them and benefits don't have to be tangible. When you get annoyed someone wasn't grateful for something that's you doing something to benefit you, buddy. People who have antisocial tendencies can do shit for fun, out of anger or distaste, on a whim, or SHOCKED GASP for moral reasoning or even for the good of others! Yeah, 'cause they're people actually believe it or not. Just because someone is naturally inclined towards something doesn't make them a slave to that behavior. See the Alastor prequel comic. He did not benefit from savings the ram lady, and he still did. Because he found the butcher's actions, killing a weaker patron who'd done no apparent wrong, morally distasteful. 2- Working hard is one of the most self beneficial things you can do right after working smart and combining the two (which is almost certainly how Alastor managed to kill elite overlords). Even ignoring the fact that it's known Alastor killed based on his own moral code when he was alive, working hard by going after bigger overlords WOULD benefit him because he'd get more power and prestige as a result. Take a big risk, get a big reward. And people generally don't intend to fail...? Are you aware that part of the diagnostic criteria for ASPD has for a long time included repeat discipline for misbehavior, especially violence? Because that is a defining feature of an antisocial personality being a detriment to ones life. That's what makes it a DISORDER. It makes you do things that are NOT beneficial and that often result in negative consequences, ie failure.
@@Lanoira13 "Strong" and "weak" are subjective values, he went after the Overlords who were weaker than him so he had no chance of losing, just like he only confronts Adam because he thinks Adam is weaker than him and when the opposite shows to be the case rather than fight he just nopes right out of there. Sociopathy is a type of psychopathy hence I explicitly said PSYCHOPATHIC PERSONAÆLITY DISORDER TYPE SOCIOPATHY. You're the one who made it into antisocial personality disorder. You should reflect on the reason your brain made this colossal misnaming because that's no simple mistake. What other people say is only what they see and how they interpret what they see, it has no necessary connection to how things actually are. If it did then you'd have to accept that Trump was the best ever since people in the MAGA movement say so.¨ Working hard also comes with the possibility of failure. Failure is of no benefit to someone who is only in it for their own self-interest. Thus to avoid failure you have to avoid the hard work that can lead to failure. Most people who have a sensible view of the world know that working hard is beneficial even though they'd want to avoid failures, it's just that the potential rewards mean more to them. Someone with a sociopathic personality type is below the surface they show the world is mostly driven by fear. Fear of failure, fear of others realising their true nature, fear of others seeing how pathetic they feel subconsciously they are. Just like NPD, nothing hurts them more than people laughing at them rather than with them. The Hannibal Lector type is a myth made especially for media, the same with Fasticstic villains since in reality they're no way near as competent or smart as they think they are. Serial killers mostly get away with their actions because either they find a site where their actions are non-descript, like a long strip of road where people go missing anyway. or the police ignore stuff because they believe in the mastermind-myth as well as refuse to believe that anyone who does something that deviously could be that sloppy.
@@nielsjensen4185 You're clearly a lying POS in addition to being deeply ignorant on the shit you're trying to talk about. You didn't say "psychopathic personality disorder type sociopathy", you said "sociopathic personality type". ( Seriously, this is on record, why tf would you lie about what you said, it's literally right there.) Regardless, your blathering isn't remotely diagnostic terminology. I can't find a single credible source referring to sociopathy as "a type of psychopathy" and sociopathy and psychopathy are almost exclusively used to refer to ASPD in the limited capacity they're still used colloquially in the medical field. I googled the jumbled BS you vomited onto your keyboard and literally all that came up was ASPD. And your media arguments quite frankly aren't worth anyone's limited time on this green earth. I'm not entertaining this any further. Kindly piss off.
I know where angel is coming from because I've been there... This episode was really hard to watch but I loved it. Here's the problem with saying charlie didn't push enough.. I get people wanting to help people being abused, but you have to be super careful and make sure you don't push too hard too fast. If you push too hard you can get the person being abused hurt or killed.
Episode 4 did help make Angel a better character for me, and made me find his new voice actor a little bit more enjoyable, because of the extra emotion he put into it.
And Vox likes this dude... By the way, I can recommend watching the “Valentino” clip on UA-cam. Oddly enough, this clip shows Vox from an interesting side
In my opinion-I agree with you. Yes it’s an awkward episode to watch, but it’s also the best episode to watch because it’s so good and bad at the same time that it’s like a car accident accident you can’t look away.
Okay so Angel deffo has it worse but both Husk and him are effectively slaves, they are both owned property. Husk has been doing free labour for Alastor for a veeeeeeery long time bc he has no choice. That's the comparison. We do see Alastor asserting his ownership of Husk next ep.
From here on, the Filler is over, there will be all Plot now. By the way, if you would be interested in getting a little deep dive on this Episode, I recommend a Video by schnee, very insightful. Also, i recommend doing either Epithet Erased or Gildedguy too at some point, they are both very interesting and charming in their own way.
Have you listened to the fan songs? Addict, Insane, One Hell of a Team, Eyes on Me, Use Me Up, and Sure to Drown are some of my personal favorites. Addict in particular has a cool history and I think is the only one to get an Official* music video from Vivziepop. Edit for grammar.
27:10 How wrong can one guy be.... If you remember from the Pilot episode, when alastor came into power, he topple Overlords left and right and sentenced them to extreme torture, where he would broadcast their screams to all of Hell. Its why he's called the Radio Demon. So yeah, canonically Husk was tortured nonstop for an indeterminate amount of time. I wont say he's been through worse than angel, since everyones trauma is valid, and who's to say one person has suffered through worse than another, but he is definitely up there on the trauma pole
We don't know for sure that Husk was included in that list of Overlords though. That applies to when he first showed up in Hell, which is why it was notable, but Husk would have come along after that. Not to say it didn't happen, since the timeline is vague right now, but we also don't have any solid evidence that it did.
@@helenanilsson5666 Well the general community consensus based off of things that have been said about his character by Vivziepop is that he died around the 1970s, and Alastor's initial reign of terror was in the 30s, which is a 40 year time difference. Not that Alastor couldn't have continued his spree into that time, it's just that it implies his Overlord hunting was a "new arrival" oddity as opposed to a continued sport. Considering his interactions with the modern overlords, i'm inclined to think it is the former.
1:12 my reaction too mate TwT that part was so unneeded in show and the fact everyone finds it hot is terryfing TwT 11:00 agreed 100% 17:45 agreed TwT 19:35 agreed again 24:30 wait this actually sounds nice 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I recently watched this show, cause the animation looked interesting to me and well…, let me tell ya, I did not expect this show to be like this…, these days animated shows are quite, let‘s say, adult😳…, it‘s a great show, but WOW, this is definitely not for kids😅 Great reaction man👍
Fun thing is that it's actually a return to form for animation. Some of the oldest animated shorts were targeted at adults and the heavy association with it being an entirely kid oriented medium came later.
Has this man never watched a show with bad words? Literally what is the point DURING A REACTION in saying "oh im gonna have a lot of bleeping to do" like 5 times??? And then "ugh this editing is gonna take forever". Idc about how much you have to edit, I care about the reaction lol. Like complain about the editing you'll have to do at the end, idk. Editing comes with the whole reaction youtuber territory also "I don't think Husk's situation is that bad". Dude. He's literally a slave to an Overlord's beck and call. Okay so he isn't being molested??? Still not a good situation in the slightest and just because we don't see much of how he's treated doesn't mean he doesn't have his own horrific stuff to deal with. We do remember Alastor is violent and happy to kill right lol.
5:00 if i recall what vivzie said on whos stronger. charlie could beat alastor in a fight and even any of the demon royalty. (Save for the deadly sins)
As time’s gone on and I continue to grow more and more addicted to this show (it’s a problem lol), I continue to find myself mentally making Angel a depression allegory. Yes, he’s obviously meant to be showcasing the hardships of the adult content industry and SA, but man… does his character (as well as poison and loser baby) get so incredibly deep when you start to consider it from the viewpoint of depression. It’s hard. Especially when you find that you can’t say anything good about yourself. Maybe it isn’t other people feeding you poison, maybe it is. Maybe you have coping mechanisms, ways to pretend you’re okay. Maybe you don’t. But at the end of the day, it feels like all you’re doing is putting on a front. You aren’t really living your own life. You’re just letting the poison of your *own mind* take over. You are drowning in *your own poison.* And that is a hard pill to swallow.
Husk reminds me of Luci from Disenchantment. 1- Both are cat like demons: Luci is black Imp, who disguised his true nature calling himself in front of others as a cat, and Husk are Sinner former human who after his death becomes Winged Cat and Overlord. 2 - Who work as bartenders, Luci won a bar in armrestling and call it "Luci's Inferno" , and Husk working as a Clerk and bartender at the reception of the Hazbin Hotel. 3 - Are friends with the princess protagonists, Luci has a Princess Tiabeanie(Bean), and Husk have a Princess Charlotte (Charlie) Morningstar. 4 - Both serve the mighty Infernal Lord, Luci serving Satan, and Husk's soul belongs to Alastor. 5 - and both have a bad but generally friendly personalities. So their relationship with AngelDust (excluding all romance and love) reminds me of Luci and Elfo's relationship. And the storyline of AngelDust and Valentino reminded me of the one from the anime Spirited Away. Valentino is the Sorceress Yubaba, and Angel is Haku. Then Charlie is a Chihiro/Sen.
Won’t spoil anything. Just.. You’ll get to form more of an opinion on Husk’s life later. This was about Angel. And man the songs are good. I think Poison might be the best song, but they’re all good.
a lot of people are giving you these ramblings about "well they said [this] [somewhere]" and "i read [this]" but factually, the creator said that if it was not in the amazon prime show, it doesn't count. anything else, including the youtube pilot, has no baring on what's going on in this show. given that there was so much time between the youtube pilot and the amazon prime show, people came up with their own theories. the creator encourages people to interpret the media however they want so she would reblog or favorite people's ideas and a lot of people took that as confirmation but the fact of the matter is that unless it's in the amazon prime show, it's non-canonical
Now i'll say it again. we warned you... that said. does anyone have any idea what it is with Ep 4s? Full Metal Alchemest EP - 4... causes PTSD Shield Hero Ep -4 leaves people crying. is there some rule that Ep 4 of a series must destroy viewers?

@@torinkyifh5085 I think what they were implying is that after what val has done, he shouldn't be allowed to breathe anymore lol
I mean Alastor alone is...hooo boy.
yes, techically Charlie COULD slap anyone in Hell except Lucifer ... but that's so meeeeeeeeean 🥺
Best line in the entire show
She seems like mid grade power, but actually if she had a differ personality she’d be up there with or above Alastor and the demon lords.
@@yozarian86 She's a pacifist who doesn't know how to fight, but in raw power she's right behind her dad.

Not sure if you caught it, but usually Angel dust gets nervous and slightly panicking when Val tries to contact him, but at the end when Angel dust was taking to Husk, Angel was comfortable enough to start trash talking Valentino (his boss)
🤔
Yeah. In that regard, he's really going to love episode six when he gets to it.
I couldn't watch the episode completely through on the first watch. And that's not a complaint. Like you say, it needs to be that uncomfortable.
More realistic than the French movie "Irreversible"?
@Vecchio_Rhosod85 why does that matter
Three things that get me in this episode:
Minor Spoiler Warning:
Yeah, but as angel learns later on, there is a loophole in the contract. Val only owns him in the studio. So if you take away his studio, and prevent him from acquiring a new one, he essentially has no power over angel
@@sinnabunn262 is this a spoiler? maybe, put a SPOILER ALERT on it if it is

I dont usually get uncomfortable when watching shows, but this episode and the dog scene in FMAB were the only times when I was really uncomfortable. I agree that this episode was well written.
Agreed. Too bad the next episode is so rushed making it bad in my opinion. Amazing 2nd song.
husk actually sold (gambled) his soul to Alastor (you can see it at the scene where hes talking about it), like Valentino owns Angel's. So thats why they live in the same shit sandwich :)
He isn’t very good at picking up on things. He was probably talking at that point.
Hands down the best episode of the bunch imo. A great deep dive into one of our main characters here on top of two awesome songs.
I love how you can still clearly hear all the swears over the beeps

@@nielsjensen4185 You're right, but please put spoiler warnings before the bits about later episodes, since this reaction is only on episode 4.
I like to think it reflects the Overlords- like Valentino is temperamental and unpredictable while Alastor is more cunning and calculating....also Angel's kind of look like bondage.
as you can seee in the video the reason why husker can describe all his friends that good is cuz he is a poker expert
Well, that and he probably wasn't lying about everyone spilling the beans to the bartender when they're drunk. You really can find out a lot about people just by paying attention when their inhibitions are lowered.
Magical censorship. So magical it allows the explicatives.
We told ya. And now you know the context of "Poison" 😔
And we all just took another gulp.

One thing I really like about this episode is that it shows that sometimes that we have problems that can't be solved with simple solution and at those times it can be really helpful just to have someone to talk and relate to

2:08 oh the censorship was magical I'll give you that much
😂
Everyone underestimate Charlie, including herself, I think.
She`s just to nice for hell.
"I don't think Husk's situation is that bad."

Little information about Husk and his purring. Cats can purr in at least 3 situations: when they are happy, when they feel threatened/are angry, and when they are injured (to heal faster).
It's very likely Husk purred because he was angry, during that bar scene with Angel.

Poison and Hazbin Hotel in general has been sort of my crack recently and been obsessed with looking for reactions to it.
They all mistake kindness for weakness without understanding that people can only be truly kind if they're strong enough to go against the grain.
Oh god I’ve been so nervous for this episode
Snowflake
BUT it doesn't define his entire being, and he absolutely deserves better.'
🩷💛💙
You can have all the power in the world, but it's only relevant if you are willing to use it.
i was worried in the middle but i'm glad you were felt just as warm as charlie felt at the end there xD
I love your reactions don't worry about that. It's just a hard episode to watch and it's ok to watch it in silence.

The beeps never censor well because your brain fills contents anyways. That's what makes "the count censored" so hilarious.

Another great earlier Keith David role is ‘Goliath’ the leader of the New York Clan of Gargoyles from the early ‘90s Disney animated series…
It’s basically Disney’s take on Batman the Animated Series, and it’s just as dark as B-TAS
yess dude that's why we needed you to watch this show just the songs are great but the songs with context are even more impactful.
Alastor also isn't necessarily a sociopath, and regardless
1- That's not how antisocial tendencies or ASPD works.
If it did then you'd have to accept that Trump was the best ever since people in the MAGA movement say so.¨
Working hard also comes with the possibility of failure.

If that's Niffty light, Husk is right. I don't wanna know what her deal is 🤣🤣
And Vox likes this dude...
The implication that Val always "has his way" with Angel after every single shoot is so, so, SO fucking horrible.
The thing is there is a difference between Angel and Anthony. And when Anthony comes out he is very sad.
I did say based on the information I've been given
We don't know for sure that Husk was included in that list of Overlords though. That applies to when he first showed up in Hell, which is why it was notable, but Husk would have come along after that. Not to say it didn't happen, since the timeline is vague right now, but we also don't have any solid evidence that it did.
@@Bryndela "but Husk would have come along after that"
what makes you think that?
@@helenanilsson5666 Well the general community consensus based off of things that have been said about his character by Vivziepop is that he died around the 1970s, and Alastor's initial reign of terror was in the 30s, which is a 40 year time difference. Not that Alastor couldn't have continued his spree into that time, it's just that it implies his Overlord hunting was a "new arrival" oddity as opposed to a continued sport. Considering his interactions with the modern overlords, i'm inclined to think it is the former.
“I don’t like Valentino.”

Valentino is practically meant to be reviled.
Hi! I just met your channel with this episode. Greetings from Spain.
Oh lordy here we go
Charlie could be like that, but don't call me Shirley.
I recently watched this show, cause the animation looked interesting to me and well…, let me tell ya, I did not expect this show to be like this…, these days animated shows are quite, let‘s say, adult😳…, it‘s a great show, but WOW, this is definitely not for kids😅
Great reaction man👍
Fun thing is that it's actually a return to form for animation.
Editing comes with the whole reaction youtuber territory
also "I don't think Husk's situation is that bad".
Actually this is the only episode rated 18+
It might be different in the UK.
You are drowning in *your own poison.*
And that is a hard pill to swallow.
Valentino is my third favorite character 🤣
5:09 Just wait for the finale
Husk seems to be better off, but he is a slave to Alastor... who has ben playing nice so far, but Husk probably knows him better than we do.
7:24 what is angel wearing just curious
Luke, ya need to get your editors on this. A lot of swearing missed
Only the first few minutes are needed for UA-cam ❤️
@@GOTGames Ah, okies. Got kinda worried with how often you were pausing just to mention it. Don't want you to get in trouble with the thought-police.
Alasstor is much, much worse than Valentino, he's just better at hiding it whereas Valentino is utterly impulse-controlled.
You should definitely react to Helluva Boss next. If you're taking suggestions - I'd suggest it.
Great reaction.
Shhh the novel just start!
its funny how people were mad at angel that is a victim 🤡
Song is poison 😢angel is not safe because of Val
Yeah ep4 is a dealmaker
Not even 2mins in. This will be fun
Edit: 2-3mins in, dude gave up censoring lol
time for sadness
We understand that this is a lot. Just keep SOMETHING in (Like audio or a blurred image) and we’re good.
Val is really funny but is an awful person I want him dead but I simultaneously want to see more of him in season 2
Now i'll say it again. we warned you...
that said. does anyone have any idea what it is with Ep 4s?
Full Metal Alchemest EP - 4... causes PTSD
Shield Hero Ep -4 leaves people crying.
is there some rule that Ep 4 of a series must destroy viewers?
Ah yeah the episode that gave me a panic attack the first time i saw it
go see a doctor
@kumasdomain5721 Are people insensitive to SA?
@@VelvetteSimp SA? Don't know what you mean by that.
@kumasdomain5721 Sexual Assault
@@VelvetteSimp That depends on the person I would guess. I don't understand why your asking about that.
