Episode 4 is just absolutely perfect in a really twisted way. Angel Dust is so relatable and real and the VA did such a great job

Its prob my favorite episode even tho the whole show is great. Just the story in this ep and character bonding between Husk and Angel was amazing, plus it has two of my top five favorite songs in Hazbin. Loser baby is probably my favorite.

11:40 you're like the only person i've seen react to the shot of Angel crying out during his assault. I know it's a quick part, but the way they combine the shot with his held singing note hits so strongly.
And you can see the strain on his face, the struggle he's going through. It's one thing to see him getting touched, but focusing on his face and seeing him SCREAMING just strikes a whole other level of discomfort and pain. Poor guy doesn't deserve this- I hope he'll be able to get the help he needs ):

Such an insanely powerful shot and in my head I was just like oh my god no that’s just so painful to see especially when you see some films/shots of him doing crazy stuff being fine but this specifically is breaking even through his usual mask
I honestly don’t get the controversy behind the poison and episode. It definitely portrays angels exploration as a bad thing and not something to be played up for laughs. at the end of poison, especially with him, breaking down in fear and crying and the song husk does with him,it shows angel isn’t alone and being used and selling his soul, I think people are angry for the sake of being angry

True. I get that this is a sensitive and often, if not always, graphic subject and I would understand the outrage if they weren’t presenting the reality of abuse in in the porn industry, but I feel they did a decent job at the very least.
I mean, the show has a rating for a reason. People never seem to check for ratings when it comes to animation because they always assume it’s kid friendly. Even if the rating was not the case, this is a reality that people in that industry face. I love the song and think it’s a bop but especially with the context and everything that happened right before it’s hard to listen and enjoy it when Angel is clearly suffering.
Also people seem to forget that the whole show takes place in HELL. No sh*t it’s going to be more graphic. All they’re doing by trying to ban it is sweep it under the rug and ignore the issue that affects so many people. It’s a cruel reality, but it’s reality nonetheless.
Overall, I don’t see what good getting the episode banned is going to do. It’s art and art is meant to make you feel something which in this case made me feel the worst kind of ick. I would hope others would feel the same at the sight of someone being SA’d, but it certainly doesn’t make it ban-worthy.

fun fac: the sinners cant get out of the pride ring, that's why the extermination never happened in the wrath ring or others, the exorcist only kill sinners (maybe im wrong but i can swear that i read that in something official years ago)
It seems like proper demons have protection from the angels but anyone that counts as a sinner or a human who sinned is up for exorcism
It was hinted at in the first episode, when lute told Charlie "The only reason you're still here is because daddy gave you and your hellborn kind a pardon from an exorcist blade." So only Sinners are killed, not the demons.
Husker-dust, the team-up I never knew I so desperately needed.

Oh hey I'm a little late but cool reaction :D
Now that you know Husk was an overlord I can tell you there's a huge theory that Nifty was an overlord as well and somehow had to work under Alastor. Just like Husk, she's not a demon "created" by Alastor, in the pilot we see her being teleported from somewhere to the hotel and do whatever Alastor asks of her. And most importantly, at the point when Vaggie explains who Alastor is, there's a shot of Alastor with some overlords like Vox, and standing behind him, in his shadow, you can clearly see Husk and Nifty. Husk was an overlord, so if Nifty is on that image as well there are good chances she used to be an overlord as well. Once again, cool video, I'm excited for episodes 5 and 6 :>
It would make sense she has so far appears to love bad boys, punishing them and pain in general which lines up with this. The power of a demon/sinner under your control would be a good way to measure power of one, like why Vox has so many people under him but still can’t compete with Alastor
It's also possible that Alastor uses his vast "wallet" of souls to empower Niffty to the point where she's Overlord-equivalent in power but was never actually an Overlord herself, similar to how Husk is clearly a few cuts above the average Sinner.
@@perrycarters3113 Husk may be weaker then he was for sure but it could function like a double tap, Alastor took some of Husks power for himself but in return he allows Husk some freedoms/power to do what he needs
@@TheMadVari If I had to guess, either Husk wagered and lost his own soul to Alastor, OR he took out a loan from Alastor using his own soul as collateral, and he can, theoretically, "buy out" his freedom, but the debt has gotten so astronomical that he realistically would never be able to pay it back, so Alastor just keeps a "line of credit" open for Husk, keeping him much stronger than the average Sinner or Demon, but probably still several echelons below a regular Overlord. Of course, the more power Husk uses/borrows, the bigger the debt becomes.
Episodes 3 and 4 have been my favorites in HH so far and this is one of my favorite HH songs lately so yea. Also, Huskdust has become one of my favorite platonic ships recently that good decent friendships can still be cool and stuff besides the romantic ship with Charlie and Vaggie and others from other shows somehow or something. Man I’m very excited to see more HH stuff unfold later in the series so yea! 😁👍

Oh really? Hmm ok well I guess that’s fine too somehow and I wouldn’t mind that route either if that’s part of Vivziepop’s vision for her characters in future episodes somehow. I don’t know, but I know that Husk is like a pansexual and Angel is gay and I kinda like their friendly wholesomeness stuff on each other lately that I thought one of them such as Angel would rather go out with somebody else who’s not a part of the HH crew for exploring different reasons besides porn stuff than being in an internal secret relationship within the crew inside the hotel or something. As for Husk, I thought that he can remain like the wise old bartender of the HH who lost his ability to love years ago but would like to help out others as a spiritual guide for them in order to uphold the main objective of the redemption process for the hotel such as being like Skips from Regular Show but different or whatever. In addition, he’s kinda like an AroAce to me as my headcanon thing haha; and maybe panromantic too like implicitly besides being a canonical pansexual guy if he decides to go more into the romantic aspect in season 2 somehow or something. I’m not sure if it makes any sense but I’m kinda okay with them being the next HH ship couples aside from Chaggie/Varlie (Charlie and Vaggie) in season 2 or later down the line though so yea ☺️👌 haha.
Funny thing is this is the best thing for him - Angel says he's destroying himself because Val won't want him broken, but that's *exactly* what Val wants, someone so broken they're easy to control. If Angel develops self-esteem, Val won't like him anymore.

I have a theory that heaven born beens (specially those related to lilith) have the hability to make other people sing, and the more time you spend with them the more likely you are to sing because the songs of the show are clearly inside the world of the show itself

"You did sign the contract though" - I'm not sure he had too much choice in it, but maybe we will know it one day (but with the speed this show is going sometimes, I doubt it) Probably it was a choice between two bad things, but just guessing.
With the newer episode we learn he signed the contract with the condition he has freedom outside the studio to do whatever which is a huge and smart qualifier for Angel

As a SA survivor, i cant even bear to listen to Poison. I tried once, and it just was to immensely painful. But hats off to whoever does the singing voice of angel. And the part where he's telling husk why he does what he does, just breaks my heart. Unfortunately Val seems to enjoy tormenting him more because hes broken. And seriously Valentino deserves the slowest painful death that be dreamed up. I have never hated someone in a show or cartoon more than him.
And can we all agree that Keith david (husk) has a badass voice?

Im new to rhe channel, did you actually get to *see* all the body language in "loser baby" because its so GOOD 😭💕 i cant tell bc it looked like you were jamming with your eyes closed and i feel like so much of that song's brilliance is in the body language

The exact line is "Sold my soul to save my power"
Losing your soul in a card game is not selling it.
It's more likely Husker owed more souls than he owned to other lesser Overlords and got a "loan" from Alastor to pay off his debts, using his own soul as collateral.
So he "saved his power" because now Husker's above-average power is "bankrolled" by Alastor, either forever or until he can somehow pay off the debt.
I would LOVE a card set from the show with the images of husk and the others
