Sulfur is the most important nutrient to help your body detoxify, and there are numerous healthy sources to get it in your diet.
    Timestamps:
0:00 Why sulfur is the most important element in detoxification of your body
0:37 You need sulfur to make the detoxification enzymes in your liver work
1:12 These are good sources of sulfur
In this video, I explain why sulfur is the most important element you need to effectively detoxify your body.
In your liver, there are various enzymes that turn poisons and toxins into harmless particles. Many of these enzymes are sulfur-based. In phase one, you go from a fat-soluble chemical or poison to a water-soluble chemical. Phase two takes that water-soluble compound and makes it even less poisonous. In phase three, it exits the cell and leaves your body.
Sulfur is also important for three amino acids that are co-factors in making glutathione, one of the most important antioxidants in your body. It’s also involved with two different vitamins, biotin and thiamine (vitamin B1). There are many other vitamins that are also involved: vitamins A, B2, B3, B9 (folate), C, and E. But sulfur is the most important nutrient.
    Good sources of sulfur include:
    ● Cruciferous foods such as radishes, kale, and Brussel sprouts
    ● Asparagus
    ● Onions
    ● Garlic
    ● Eggs
    ● Fish
    ● Cheese
Which one do you like the most as a source of sulfur?

These foods are the mainstays of our diet. I’m blessed to be in the West of Ireland on a farm with access to local grass fed beef, lamb and a regular supply of wild trout and salmon (my sons fish). Our cheese and butter are artisan and locally sourced. Our garden and free range hens provide the rest. I’m able to harvest our own apples, blackberries, haws, damsons, elderberries, and rose hips from our hedgerows. We love your program and have learned so much. Food can heal.

VERY filling and satisfying. Then my 2nd meal is a monster salad with about 4 cups of raw greens and random cruciferous veggies, with thinly sliced and chopped raw onion. Even though Sulfur is needed for detoxification, it is not recommended for people with heavy metal as it causes redistribution and makes the person worse for the long run. People with heavy metal problem are commonly thiol sensitive and this is because of the redistribution of the metals that makes them feel sicker over time. Dr. Berg, this is a topic you need to correct in your videos since your advise can harm people.

Dressing: 1 tbsp peanut butter, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp maple syrup, 2 garlic cloves finely chopped, small piece of fresh ginger grated, mix all well together and then mix into the salad. Enjoy.

We eat eggs almost every day - we get them fresh from the farm. My husband eats lots of cheese, but we also eat lots of spinach, garlic, and onions. I make a cabbage salad that also has kale, and I add the kale, cabbage and collard green in powder form, or frozen to smoothies.

cruciferous vegetables make the most sense. And why not garlic. In fact i think Mark Hyman said there was a synergy between broccoli and garlic. I also drink sulfur crystals in water. I have even mixed it with turmeric in water. (after the fact i noticed a pubmed article that mentioned doing that) Happens to be each on their own lower blood sugar levels. One morning i ate an omelet with potatoes, later afternoon (hadn't eaten) i checked my blood sugar. wow was it low, as if i had fasted for a couple of days. These are very powerful supplements/foods.

Dr. Eric Berg; I wanted to leave you an update as I have taken some advice from 1 of your videos in regards to liver detoxification. Every day for the last month (since early July, 2019-roughly between the 8th and 12th) I have been taking Choline (310 mg) Magnesium (400 mg) D3 (5,000 IU) and B12 (1,000 mcg) and would like to report some remarkable improvements in my health.
I was suffering from extremely low energy and hand eczema and my weight would constantly hover around 295 lbs. I had tried working at Wal-Mart and was biking 1.5 miles there amd back but felt exhausted with 0 gains to my bike riding and work routine as I had to throw bags of ice or walk around a lot. I had HORRIBLE food cravings and blood sugar drops and really bad drops in my mood where I felt depleted inside and out. Needless to say I felt ran over by bus almost every day!
However since taking these supplements all of the previous mentioned symptoms have faded! My weight is wanting to now keep itself lower (284 lbs this morning). I am able to not crave food especially junk food. My eczema has gone away and boy that was nasty stuff! I feel more energetic and the daily bowel problems stopped too!
I also want to point put I also drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning and it doesn't give me blood sugar drops as before. I have taken ALL forms of soda out of my diet and intend to keep it that way. Long story short you turned me arou d and this has been after only 1 month! So thank you for this life saving advice cause it has helped me so much! 😊😊😊💪

What about MSM. Is that not organic sulfur?

    • @birkit1133
      @birkit1133 4 роки тому +2

Sulfur is an element by itself. Organic sulfur means it is bound up in foods. MSM is not bound up in foods, it's a pure form of sulfur that is bio-available in crystal form which is synthesized in a laboratory. Dr Berg always encourages getting nutrients from foods over supplements, but I have taken Opti-MSM by Doctors Best for over 8 yrs in addition to those foods and I can vouch for the fact that it has helped me and also my mom with joint pain immensely. It is very safe and has no upper limits, but it is bitter tasting. You don't need much, though, so you can take it in water or juice for example.

I eat 2 meals daily, separated by a 17-18 hour fast. One meal is a large portion of raw greens, usually in a salad with olive oil and a protein, or in a smoothie. Greens include watercress, arugula, bok choy, spinach, and lettuce. The other meal is cooked and contains onions, garlic, and mushrooms as a base, then switch up any combination of cruciferous veggies, especially cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, and Brussels sprouts with a protein. I cook them in coconut and avocado oil, or ghee. This seems to work well for me, I feel really good, have excellent bowel movements, and my weight, body fat, and bloodwork are good
