This video is exactly what I needed. My passenger side is leaking really bad until it warms up then it seals itself most the way. I dived in to yesterday but realized I couldn't get the EGR off completely until I make more room. Thanks for sharing the procedure. Your video was perfect.

is it a common exhaust leak problem from the warp exhaust manifold flanges that require shavng or machining?

Is it like a surge up and down repeadtly? if so it could be a a tps or a vaccum leak of some sort hope this helps
Having just got a fairly abused 4Runner I'd say check the following: go through every vacuum hose you have, check and/or replace. They're cheap, and affect the idle especially if you have power steering, AC, fiddled around with SMOG equipment. Check the manifold Idle Air Control Valve - Practical Enthusiast on UA-cam has a video on diagnosing it, fixing it. These are the two quick and easy things - if you still have a problem, it might be a little more complicated, these are the easy ones you can knock out first.
