    “Has it grown? Who knows?” is really a forever mood. Some days i’m like “yaaassss come on growth” and other days i’m like “what have I done? Is my hair shorter now?” STRESS 😂😂😂

      Thx for being honest. That's something we black women are not permitted to be about this natural hair thing. I get particularly tired of not being able to comb my hair through without using a gazillion products and wetting it everyday. And the growth seems hidden in shrinkage. I was amused when I finally cut it short (myself) and flat ironed it, my relieved 😌 Millenial age son flatly commented, " When I was here last, you were doing an Einstein thing." Ha!

    I’m at a point where I care more about thickness and health over length especially because I have fine hair and some parts of my hair are extremely volatile and breakage prone.

    When you go from a fade to being able to do a twist out, you can tell it's grown, but after that, it is hard to know. We can see your growth probably better than you can 🤩

    • @fattysl26
      @fattysl26 3 роки тому +7

      Yeah pretty much. I always feel like my hair is short until I stretch it. 4c shrinkage is no joke, so unless I stretch or straighten mine it will always look short 😃

    I knew my hair grew, when I went from a whole bald undercut, to being able to do full flat time twist outs in just a year. To me it’s all about the health of the hair. When I cut about 3 inches of hair off in late 2019, then another series of heavy cuts throughout 2020, to seeing such fullness in my twist outs, let’s me know I’m doing absolutely wonderful. Health over length, will always get the job done!

      Mine ain’t grown out from my big chop in 2016 and my 9 year old son hair is down the middle of his back and both of our hair is taken care of the same way and doesn’t like the same products ... I don’t know what to do at this point

    Maybe it’s just me, but I embrace 4c shrinkage. I’m more concerned about health than length. Your hair in its shrunken state looks AMAZING. And those protective styles you did look bomb! I know it sounds crazy, but your natural hair truly suits you.

    Love that you promote healthy hair over everything else. My hair grows out/gets bigger verses hanging down. So to see length I have to be looking for it or stretching my hair. Others are always so surprised when I stretch it because shrinkage is real lol.

    What I would say is a length check every six months or so for me, does gauge how well your routine is working. To kind of assess your hair health too. I'm a lazy natural so I don't do the most but I dust and trim when necessary.

    Normally it is harder for the person self to see whether their hair has grown. Usually people around you are the one who notice the growth first. As a subbie I could really see your hair getting longer. Is it just me or do your sides grow the quickest cause gurll they same to be in a race compaired to the rest of your hair😁. With me it is the middle and the back. The front just chills at chin length🙄🤣
