This is a good video but any hair loss video is saddening for me. Treating hairloss costs so much of money and heaps of time. The time I can deal with, the money I just can't, I don't have the budget. I started losing my hair at 17 and am now 35. Ever since then it goes in cycles and I live constantly with the fear of someone seeing just how bad it is. I'm a solo mum as well and even with working, I just can't afford to buy my own supplements and products : ( The endocrinologist I saw put me.on Microgynon and Spironolactone... There is some reduced hair fall with the meds but it is just a tiny bit reduced. I really wish I didn't have this problem. I feel so sad when I see women twice my age with full heads of hair...
Since you started losing your hair so early you could have a very simple nutritional component it’s been overlooked this entire time which barely cost any money at all… Have you ever gotten a vitamin D3 test or a ferritin blood test?
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist Hello! I appreciate your reply so much! Yes, my Ferritin levels are leaning more towards the high side and I was diagnosed with low Vitamin D at around age 23 which since then I supplement once a month with prescribed Vitamin D3 from my doctor. Thank you again for replying, it means the world as hairloss is embarrassing for me to talk about.
Hello Doctor, I got to know that I'm having PCOS last week. Since last month I'm having severe hair loss. Clumps of hair fall whenever i comb or touch my hair. Hi, I’m currently taking FoliGrowth + Spironolactone and change my diet for the past 2 years, but still facing hair loss and diffuse hair. Would you also recommend taking DHT blocker as well? It seems like a-lot to take it.
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi there! Yes, you need to take DHT Blocker supplement and use the topical serum Nutram to stop your hair loss. You also need to check your ferritin level especially if you have been experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding.
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi Edona! Your testosterone might be higher than it should be. You can talk to your doctor on how to manage that. Are you having hair loss on the scalp?

Many thanks for the valuable information! Can we reverse Pcos hairloss adapting natural way of living? If i don't fall in the category of genetic predisposition.. Kindly advise!
Yes, you can! I know women who have done it through a low gi diet and exercise. Insulin resistance is the most common cause of PCOS, so if you reverse your Insulin resistance, you will reverse many of your PCOS symptoms. It's high insulin levels that cause the ovaries to produce more testosterone, so you want to cut out foods that spike your blood sugar. Avoid weight training to build muscle, because muscle gain will increase your testosterone. Your hair will regrow and become healthy, but it doesn't happen over night, it takes time for everything to balance out. I'm about treating the cause not the symptoms. This doctor is pushing testosterone blockers which won't do a thing, you have to reverse your Insulin resistance to combat this condition.

Hello! Can a high-index androgen contraceptive pill like Microgynon trigger hair loss? or does it accelerate a DHT-sensitivity that is already there? The literature seems uncertain on this
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist Thank you, I am already on minoxidil, spironolactone and dianette for the past year now. Do your patients who have been previously affected by the pill usually reverse the majority of their hair loss?
Can I use these products while I`m also using an anticonceptional pill with anti-androgens? I started taking the pill to keep down my facial hair. But I always shed hair (not too much but still) and it`s very fragile, always breaking, frizzing, with split ends no matter what I do. Hi doc, I am suffering severe hair loss, my hair loss counts around 300. Can you please tell me which suppliment and serum should work for me. Please reply..
I'm sorry to hear about your hair loss. Losing around 300 hairs a day is significantly above the normal range (typically 50-100 hairs a day). Here are some steps you can take, including supplements and serums that might help: Supplements: Biotin: Supports keratin production and can improve hair strength. Vitamin D: Deficiency in this vitamin is linked to hair loss. Ensure adequate intake either through sunlight or supplements. Iron: Important for those who might have iron-deficiency anemia, which can lead to hair loss. Zinc: Plays a crucial role in hair tissue growth and repair. Saw Palmetto: Often used in treating androgenic alopecia, it can help block the conversion of testosterone to DHT, a hormone linked to hair loss. Serums: Minoxidil: An FDA-approved topical treatment for hair loss that can help stimulate hair growth. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): Improves blood circulation to the scalp, promoting healthier hair. Peptide Serums: These can help stimulate the hair follicles and encourage growth. Caffeine-based Serums: Known to stimulate hair follicles and extend the growth phase of the hair cycle. Additional Tips: Healthy Diet: Ensure a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and proteins. Stress Management: High stress can contribute to hair loss, so practices like yoga, meditation, or regular exercise can help. Consult a Professional: It’s important to see a dermatologist or trichologist to get a precise diagnosis and tailored treatment plan. ➡️ Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/

What will be the hair wash frequency in PCOS hairloss??? Answer please I am dealing to fix my routine, because if I don't wash like some UA-camrs say I got dandruff.
I hear you-finding the right routine for PCOS-related hair loss can be tricky! With PCOS, hormonal imbalances can lead to both excess oil production and hair thinning, which makes dandruff more common. 🌀 In your case, it's totally fine to wash your hair more often if you're dealing with dandruff. I’d recommend washing **2-3 times a week** with a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo. If your scalp gets oily quickly or you notice dandruff, you might even need to wash more frequently (every other day) but use a shampoo designed to balance the scalp and reduce irritation. Look for shampoos with ingredients like **zinc pyrithione** or **ketoconazole** to help with dandruff, and follow up with a nourishing conditioner that doesn’t weigh your hair down. ➡️ Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/ for personalized advice on managing PCOS hair loss!

Hi doc.tried ur webpage but it s only talking about products .I think each case is different.I need your consultation first can we get it first for my 13 years old daughter with massive hair loss due to pco syndrome
It’s not about the level of testosterone per se… It’s how much is converting to DHT. As well as the ratio of estrogen. In a perfect situation you’re going to have a testosterone ratio against Estrogen at least 4:1. This means that you will typically have enough estrogen to protect you against the DHT that’s converting from testosterone
Hey, no worries! 😊 A **Vitamin D3 level of 38 ng/mL** is on the lower end of the **sufficient range** (which is usually between **30-100 ng/mL**). While it's technically in the "normal" zone, many experts suggest aiming for **50-70 ng/mL** for optimal health, especially when it comes to supporting hair growth, immunity, and overall wellness. 🌞 You might want to increase sun exposure, include more Vitamin D-rich foods (like fatty fish or fortified foods), or consider a supplement-just make sure to check with a healthcare provider for the right dosage! ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/

The literature seems uncertain on this
Yes absolutely I can can. If you are in that situation you’re going to need to use the DHT blockers to prevent it from impacting your hair.
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist Thank you, I am already on minoxidil, spironolactone and dianette for the past year now. I took microgynon for 3 years before that until my hair loss became very noticeable. I hold a lot of guilt around the fact that the pill had a huge effect on my hair. Do your patients who have been previously affected by the pill usually reverse the majority of their hair loss?

Hi doc, I am suffering severe hair loss, my hair loss counts around 300. Can you please tell me which suppliment and serum should work for me. Please reply..
I'm sorry to hear about your hair loss. Losing around 300 hairs a day is significantly above the normal range (typically 50-100 hairs a day). Here are some steps you can take, including supplements and serums that might help:
Supplements:
Biotin: Supports keratin production and can improve hair strength.
Serums:
Minoxidil: An FDA-approved topical treatment for hair loss that can help stimulate hair growth.
Additional Tips:
Healthy Diet: Ensure a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and proteins.
Stress Management: High stress can contribute to hair loss, so practices like yoga, meditation, or regular exercise can help.
Consult a Professional: It’s important to see a dermatologist or trichologist to get a precise diagnosis and tailored treatment plan.

In your case, it's totally fine to wash your hair more often if you're dealing with dandruff.

Can testosterone cause hair loss? although testosterone level is below the normal range due to ratio disruption between estrogen and testosterone.
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist Thanks a lot.
Plz suggest me my vitamin d3 38 it sufficient 😢😢😢plz
Hey, no worries! 😊 A **Vitamin D3 level of 38 ng/mL** is on the lower end of the **sufficient range** (which is usually between **30-100 ng/mL**). While it's technically in the "normal" zone, many experts suggest aiming for **50-70 ng/mL** for optimal health, especially when it comes to supporting hair growth, immunity, and overall wellness. 🌞
You might want to increase sun exposure, include more Vitamin D-rich foods (like fatty fish or fortified foods), or consider a supplement-just make sure to check with a healthcare provider for the right dosage!
